Draymond Green wins 2024-25 NBA Hustle award
Although he finished third for the Defensive Player of the Year award, Draymond Green will have some new hardware to take home in 2025. On Friday, Green was named the winner of the NBA's Hustle Award.
According to the NBA, the award "honors players who make the effort plays that don't often appear in the traditional box score but impact winning on a nightly basis."
Unlike the other end-of-season awards, the Hustle award isn't voted on. Instead, the award is issued to the player that ranks highly in nine different "hustle" categories — charges drawn, deflections, screen assists, contested 2-point shots and 3-point shots; offensive and defensive loose balls recovered; and offensive and defensive box outs.
Green ranked in at least the top 39 in each of the categories. Green ranked in the top 10 of defensive box outs, charges drawn and contested 3-point shots.
Green finished in front of Oklahoma CIty's Cason Wallace, Philadelphia's Guerschon Yabusele, Oklahoma City's Lu Dort and Atlanta's Dyson Daniels. Former Chicago Bulls guard and current Oklahoma City guard Alex Caruso won the Hustle award last season.

Tom Brady's former coach makes bold suggestion to honor the legendary QB

Tom Brady's former coach makes bold suggestion to honor the legendary QB Around the world, there are a handful of trophies that can be recognized no matter where you are in the world. The Lombardi Trophy is one of those and winning one is the ultimate career goal of everyone who enters the National Football League. Bill Belichick made a career out of consistently winning them, raising the trophy a whopping eight times as a coach. Anytime the future Hall of Famer talks about the game or makes a suggestion, people listen. That is why when Tom Brady's former coach spoke with Jim Gray on the Let's Go! Podcast this week and floated an interesting idea regarding the Lombardi Trophy. It centers around his former quarterback and the renaming of the trophy itself. 'Players win games, you can win games without good players, I don't care who the coach is, you can't win. I found out when I had Harry Banks, Pepper Johnson, Jim Burt, everyone, all those guys. . .It's (Tom) Brady, it's (Willie) McGinest, it's (Mike) Vrabel. . .I didn't make any tackles, I didn't make any kicks. . .as a coach you wanna give your players a chance to win, you want to put them in a position where if they go out there they'' have a chance to win, thats what Coach (Bill) Parcells taught me. . .maybe they should name it (Lombardi Trophy) the Brady Trophy.' The NBA has shown that it will proactively rename trophies to honor players in its history. Vince Lombardi, of course, is why the trophy is titled what it is. After all, the Packers' head coach led the NFC North team to two straight Super Bowl victories in the first two inaugural events, back when commercials for the game cost a mere $42,000. While the trophy isn't likely to change names, the league could change the name of the MVP Award, like the NBA did by naming it the Bill Russell Award, just one suggestion.

Boston Celtics jersey history No. 20 - Jabari Parker (2021-22)

The Boston Celtics have had players suiting up in a total of 68 different jersey numbers (and have three others not part of any numerical series) since their founding at the dawn of the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- the league that would become today's NBA), worn by well over 500 players in the course of Celtics history. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Celtics Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. With 25 of those jerseys now retired to honor some of the greatest Celtics to wear those jerseys, there is a lot of history to cover. And for today's article, we will continue with the 26th of 31 people to wear the No. 20 jersey, Boston forward alum Jabari Parker. After ending his college career at Duke, Parker was picked up with the second overall selection of the 2014 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. The Chicago, Illinois native would play the first four seasons of his pro career with the Bucks. He would also have stints with the Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, Atlanta Hawks, and Sacramento Kings before signing with Boston for the final two seasons of his NBA career. Need a break?
