They held a ghost bike vigil for Yader Castaneda, 18, at Michigan Avenue and Randolph Street — where the crash that took his life happened on May 26.
Ghost bikes are roadside memorials that are usually painted white and placed where cyclists have died.
Castaneda's ghost bike bears his name, as well as messages to him. It is adorned with bright yellow flowers, as his family said yellow was his favorite color.

Five people were injured Sunday in a rollover crash on the Bishop Ford Freeway in Chicago's south suburbs. Illinois State Police said at 11:46 a.m., one vehicle was involved in a crash on the southbound Bishop Ford (I-94) at 159th Street in South Holland. During the fourth quarter of Tuesday night's game between the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream, someone in the Gateway Center crowd reportedly threw a toy onto the court — which was later followed up by a similar incident a few days later in Chicago. There's no word as of right now about whether or not that person has been arrested. But the fan involved in throwing the object in Atlanta has reportedly been taken into custody by police. "The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority for our league. Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or in the seating area can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans," the league said in a statement. "In line with WNBA Arena Security Standards, any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities." The incidents in question have garnered reaction from across the league including from Sky center Elizabeth Williams who said Friday: "It's super disrespectful. I don't really get the point of it. It's really immature. Whoever is doing it needs to grow up." It isn't clear what exactly is prompting this recent trend of throwing toys onto WNBA courts but its something the league is seemingly wasting no time addressing.
