Woman who livestreamed Kneecap Glastonbury set targeted by online abuse
A woman who livestreamed Kneecap's Glastonbury festival set to 2 million people on TikTok has described the 'obscene' abuse she says has received in the aftermath, including people calling her a Nazi. Helen Wilson, a Swansea-based yoga teacher who also runs the Ground Plant Based Coffee cafe, said she had been sent a lot of personal insults, but that she had received 'hundreds and hundreds times more support than negativity'. It came after she held up her phone in the crowd to stream the set by the Irish rap trio last Saturday, which the BBC refused to show live, over what it said were efforts to ensure it 'meets our editorial guidelines'. The BBC later made an edited version available on iPlayer, though the broadcaster did not respond to the Guardian when asked what had been cut out. Wilson said: 'I just thought, I'm just going to livestream it because the BBC aren't showing it. And I really disagreed with that. I did not think for a moment that over 2 million people would see it.' It was only her second TikTok live stream on her handle HelenWilsonWales – her first, about her weight loss, had no viewers at all – and initially she had not realised how many people were watching because the sun was shining on her phone screen. 'But I could see that when you're doing a live stream, loads of messages pop up and people can talk to you. So the screen was going mental. People were just like ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping. 'And I was like: 'Oh, my god, something's happening here,' and so I just knew I had to carry on. People were saying to me: 'Please keep going, do what you can, please keep going.' And then that was it,' said Wilson, who grew up in Somerset and was working at the festival. The stream was spreading through word of mouth, as viewers sent it to their friends and family, and Wilson found out later that at one point it was playing on a big screen in a pub in the band's home town. She told the Guardian: 'I have had a lot of trolling. When you rang, I was just in the middle of deleting some obscene comments off my business Facebook page.' 'There was somebody on Instagram just saying he sent me a message saying: 'You're just a wrinkled old woman looking for attention.'' '[In a tabloid newspaper] I've been referred to as a middle-aged woman. Like, what has that got to do with anything?' said the 44-year-old. She said: 'This is about the genocide in Palestine, and this is about the failure of our government to act, to do anything about it.' Wilson added: 'More people need to know what is going on in Palestine. And we shouldn't be censoring bands under freedom of speech, full stop. We shouldn't be censoring anybody who is trying to raise awareness of the atrocities that are taking place.' Afterwards, Kneecap called her a 'legend' and offered her free tickets to any of their shows. On Saturday, while supporting Fontaines DC in Finsbury Park, the band once again led 45,000 people in chants of 'fuck Keir Starmer'. The band were far from alone in their sentiments at Glastonbury – dozens of acts and figures at the festival spoke out in support of Palestine, including CMAT, the Libertines, Gary Lineker, Joy Crookes, TV on the Radio, Sorry and Paloma Faith. Kneecap were also backed by Emily and Michael Eavis, the festival's organisers, with Emily telling the BBC that 'everyone is welcome', before their set.

But in the series, it was clear MaKenzie wasn't always on board with her mum's style choices. In one infamous clip, MaKenzie's mum is attempting to get her costume changed for competition day and is trying to put a belt around her waist. But MaKenzie was having none of it, saying: 'Oh no, I can't do that. I'm not doing that. I'm sorry.' When her mum is heard trying to negotiate with her, she says, 'Oh my gosh. Leave me alone, people.' In other clips from the TLC show, MaKenzie can be seen being treated to a pedicure with some apple juice in a champagne glass. Despite the show being filmed over ten years ago, MaKenzie's toddler tantrums are still remembered and she recently took to TikTok to share her thoughts on the matter. Using the audio from her outfit tantrum, she wrote over the clip: 'My exact reaction to waking up this morning to be tagged one million and one times in a comment section where everyone is talking about how bad a child I was. "God forbid a girl have an opinion on what she wears at a young age.' Now, the 20-year-old has seemingly ditched the glamorous life of pageantry and is now a student at Louisiana Christian University and plays on the softball team. Outrage Over Mum's Decision to Gift Smartphone to Toddler The video posted to her TikTok account @makenziebellemyers has since gone viral with over 4 million views and 338k likes. People in the comments were quick to share their thoughts, with many saying MaKenzie wasn't to blame. One person wrote: "I fear you actually communicated your feelings very well before the meltdown but no one listened to you." Another commented: "You really were an absolute menace and I love it." "God forbid a toddler act like a toddler," penned a third. Tips for Dealing with Toddlers IF you're struggling to control your toddler, here's ten tips that you need to know... Stay Calm and Patient Take deep breaths and maintain a calm demeanor. Patience is key; toddlers are still learning to navigate their emotions and behaviors. Set Clear Boundaries Establish consistent rules and explain them in simple terms. Be firm but gentle in enforcing boundaries. Offer Choices Give your toddler options to foster independence. For example, let them choose between two outfits or snacks. Use Positive Reinforcement Praise good behavior and offer small rewards. Acknowledge their efforts and achievements to encourage repetition of positive actions. Create a Routine Structure and predictability help toddlers feel secure. Maintain regular meal times, nap times, and bedtime routines. Stay Engaged Spend quality time interacting with your toddler. Read, play, and explore activities together to strengthen your bond. Be a Role Model Demonstrate the behavior you expect from your toddler. Use polite language, share, and show empathy in your interactions. Encourage Communication Help your toddler express their feelings with words. Teach them simple phrases to communicate needs and emotions. Redirect Attention When faced with undesirable behavior, distract and redirect their focus. Introduce a new activity or toy to shift attention away from the issue. Ensure Safety Child-proof your home to prevent accidents. Supervise your toddler closely to keep them safe while exploring. Meanwhile a fourth said: "Your episodes were my favorite on Toddlers and Tiaras." "My girl, you were EVERYTHING. I still quote 'we're going to diva day!!!!!' CONSTANTLY,' claimed a fifth Someone else added: "YOU were not the issue with Toddlers and Tiaras."

Bargain hunter bereft after receiving unwelcome surprise in her £3.30 Too Good To Go box
For many waste-conscious customers, Too Good To Go offers the chance to nab food that would have ended up in the bin at a fraction of the original cost. But bargain hunters won't know what they are going to receive until they turn up at the shop door to collect their mystery bag. For Florence Gibbs-Price, from Yorkshire, the temptation of grabbing a delicious haul from her local Asda Express for just £4.40 convinced her to try the scheme for the very first time. But the 24-year-old would likely 'leaf' the idea alone from now on after her first-time purchased contained a bizarre assortment - of seven lettuces and more than a dozen bags of salad. The disgruntled shopper filmed herself unpacking the epic fail on TikTok, where the clip went viral and garnered more than 99,000 views. 'I was shocked that it was all the same thing - and way too much for even a family of four to consume in one night,' Florence, who works in marketing. 'The app said [it would be] sandwiches, fruit, vegetables and tinned goods, so I was hoping for more of a variety.' As well as the seven lettuces and 13 bags of salad, Florence also received a fruit pot - which she described as 'a welcome change'. She appeared visibly stunned while unpacking the vegetables, and said her 'tiny town' in the north of England meant she had fewer options on the app. In the clip, Florence says: 'It's all salad! 'You should see the state of my kitchen right now, it's just lettuce. 'What the hell am I meant to do with all these vegetables?' The clip was liked over 9,000 times, with one person commenting: 'The only logical solution is to get a rabbit or guinea pig.' 'For real though, what do they think you're going to do with it?' said another critic. Someone else added: 'Surely since it was all reduced you probably spent more than it was worth too?' 'Someone is definitely laughing about this in Asda,' another viewer wrote. Despite laughing it off, Florence said it 'definitely ruined the experience'. She complained and was given a £2.20 voucher, adding: 'I think it's a bit of a joke but I'd rather make the most of the voucher and try again at maybe a different store. 'But after that I doubt I'll use [Too Good To Go] again.'
