Glentoran midfielder Aimee Kerr has received her first call-up to the Northern Ireland squad for their Nations League double-header against Romania. The 18-year-old previously captained NI at under-19 level and replaces club teammate Chloe McCarron in the squad after impressing in her first Women's Premiership season.Tanya Oxtoby's side are second Group B1 after a defeat against Poland and a home win against Bosnia-Herzegovina in their first two games. They face Romania, who are bottom of the group after two defeats in their first two games, in Bucharest on Friday 4 April before a return game at Windsor Park four days later.Oxtoby has also brought in Linfield defender Abi Sweetlove for Nottingham Forest full-back Nat Johnson in the only other change from her February squad.Sweetlove, who also captained NI at under-19 level, was in the squad for the Euro play-off win against Croatia but was an unused substitute. Glentoran duo Nadene Caldwell and Kascie Weir, who were late additions to the squad last month, retain their places.Striker Weir made her debut off the bench in the 2-0 loss in Gdansk before making her first start and impressing in the 3-2 comeback win against Bosnia-Herzegovina at Inver Park.Captain Simone Magill is one of four Birmingham City players named in the 23-player squad alongside Rebecca Holloway, Rebecca McKenna and Ellie Mason.

Analysis - Youth at heart of Oxtoby's NI
What was an already youthful looking Northern Ireland squad has just got younger with the two newest additions.Aimee Kerr and Abi Sweetlove are the latest players to come through the under-19 production line after Keri Halliday and Kascie Weir in the last few months.Halliday and now Weir have transitioned seamlessly to senior level and have impressed, showing the pathway is there and that Northern Ireland are producing exciting young players.Kerr and Sweetlove will be confident of making a similar impression as they have caught the eye whilst playing regularly in the domestic league like Halliday and Weir.Linfield's Sweetlove will know what to expect having trained with the squad and alongside experienced defenders ahead of the second leg of the Euro play-off against Croatia while for Kerr the rise is far more meteoric. After four years playing with Ballyclare Comrades in the second tier, she made the move to Women's Premiership side Glentoran in 2024 and has not looked back. With a player of the match display in their Women's Champions League game against Pyunik and then winning the club's Players' Player of the Year award, she will offer Northern Ireland that a creative spark.

Roy Keane's shock reaction to Premier League star and daughter dating as she announces pregnancy

Roy Keane showed a surprising soft side to his personality when discussing his daughter Leah's relationship with England international Taylor Harwood-Bellis - and now the couple are expecting Roy Keane is set to welcome a fourth grandchild as daughter Leah announces her first pregnancy with fiancee Taylor Harwood-Bellis. The couple have been dating for some time and after announcing their engagement last year, they are now expecting an exciting addition to their family. ‌ Keane has previously shown a softer side to his hard man persona when discussing Leah's relationship with Harwood-Bellis, who has 34 Premier League appearances for Southampton. The former Manchester United star discussed his future son-in-law during a Nations League match between England and Ireland - where the defender scored against his father-in-law's country. ‌ The Three Lions ran out 5-0 winners at Wembley in November 2024, as Harwood-Bellis scored the final goal with a bullet header. As Keane appeared in the ITV studio to discuss the game, he said: "It's bittersweet for me, this." ‌ After the Southampton star's engagement to Keane's daughter was mentioned, he jokingly added: "It's not done and dusted yet. Things can change very quickly in the Keane household, let me tell you!" However, the Premier League icon went on to praise his new family member's performance for England and overall in the top-flight. Keane said: "He's got a goal threat in him, even playing for Southampton. It's nice for him. He's a nice kid, his family's done a good job." Now, the 54-year-old has Harwood-Bellis to thank as he becomes a grandad for the fourth time, after welcoming his third in April. Daughter Leah shared the announcement on social media, with a video showcasing the couple preparing for the arrival of their little one. Leah captioned the post: "Half of me, half of you," and featured many clips of her and the current Championship star. The video begins with Leah showing off her multiple positive pregnancy results, before a video that likely depicts her breaking the exciting news to her beau - who sweeps her up into a loving hug as they celebrate. More video clips follow of the couple going for scans, getting the pictures of their baby to show off to the camera and family, as well as little snippets of old footage what looks to be the couple as children themselves. ‌ Harwood-Bellis' club Southampton - who now play their football in the Championship after being relegated last season - commented on the news, as they said: "Congratulations both!" Plenty more well wishes flooded the comments, and while Roy is yet to comment on the impending arrival, it is likely that the popular pundit is overjoyed at the news like everyone else. It was just last year that the pair announced their engagement, as Harwood-Bellis got down on one knee on a yacht sailing through Italy's Amalfi Coast. Pictures of the sweet and unforgettable moment were later shared online, as Leah wrote: "I can't wait to marry you." ‌ It is likely that the defender got Keane's blessing to pop the question, which many would think is one of the most daunting tasks any man could face. In-laws can be a tricky type of person to please, but having one of the most intimidating men in football as your newest family member is certainly something to make your blood run cold. However, Keane seems to keep his kind and soft soul for those closest to him, as he revealed on The Tommy Tiernan Show last year that being outnumbered by women in his home is "brilliant." ‌ When asked about the most difficult part of having daughters, Keane said: "No it is, brilliant. They're good, very good kids. No, they're OK. Listen when they get a bit older, I suppose boyfriends and that type of carry on, yeah that can be," tailing off to the laughter of the audience. The ex-United star did insist that he was a very relaxed person when meeting his children's other halves - which includes Harwood-Bellis - as he added: "You'd be very surprised. Surely that's the same for everybody."

The Tannadice outfit has been extremely active in the transfer window, with the club said to have been alerted to his availability when it emerged that the 26-year-old's contract was set to expire this December. 'He doesn't shy away from the physical side of the game, which is essential in a league as physically demanding as the Scottish Premiership. Julius also gives me flexibility. He can play as a deeper-lying, combative midfielder or push forward and influence the game in the final third, whilst his set-piece delivery is second to none. We've made it clear we want to construct a squad not just for the short term, but for sustained success. Julius fits that model perfectly.' Dundee United new boy Julius Eskesen. | Dundee United FC Kilmarnock sign youth international Kilmarnock have completed the signing of Wales under-21 international Zac Williams on a season-long loan deal from Crewe Alexandra, the club has confirmed. The young defender moves to Rugby Park with a wealth of experience, having played over 100 games at the Mornflake Stadium since breaking into the club's first team four seasons ago. He could make his debut in the Scottish League Cup clash against Dundee United this weekend, subject to gaining international clearance. The Railwaymen have confirmed Williams has also extended his contract with the club prior to the loan, with the defender's contract due to expire last month. The 21-year-old had initially not agreed to a new contract, with suggestions he was assessing his options. Williams becomes Kilmarnock's third former Crewe star to join this summer, following the arrivals of Tom Lowery and Max Stryjek. Zac Williams has joined Kilmarnock on a season-long loan deal. Rangers flop in major Euro move Former Rangers striker Fabio Silva is closing in on a megabucks move to AS Roma this summer, after reports in Italy claimed the Serie A giants had fended off competition from Borussia Dortmund for the in-demand Portuguese international. It is claimed he is 'pushing' for a move away from the English Premier League, with Silva already believed to have an agreement in principle with Roma over a five-year deal, worth €2.5million net per year, though the two clubs are yet to agree on a valuation, with the Midlands club said to be holding out for a fee of £17million. However, he endured an underwhelming time in royal blue, scoring just four league goals in 18 appearances before returning to Molineux. He found more success in La Liga last season after making a similar switch to Las Palmas, though, bagging 10 goals for the club, despite their relegation from the Spanish top flight, alerting some of Europe's biggest clubs to his services. The Ivorian midfielder signed for the Hoops in the summer of 2020, agreeing a four-and-a-half-year deal, and won both the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish Cup during his time at Parkhead. He departed to sign for Beitar Jerusalem in 2023 after falling out of favour with ex-head coach Ange Postecoglou. The 27-year-old midfielder is a free agent, having left the Israeli Premier League this summer and been given a chance to impress by Falkirk head coach John McGlynn, who will now assess whether or not to offer the Ivory Coast midfielder a deal. He was been linked with a move to Al-Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League earlier this summer. Ismaila Soro is on trial with Falkirk. Rangers 'reach agreement' Rangers head coach Russell Martin is poised to allow two of his fringe players to depart this club in the coming week as he looks to trim down his squad ahead of the transfer window closing next month. According to reports in Turkey, forgotten man Rabbi Matondo has 'agreed' a switch to Turkish Super Lig outfit Gaziantep FK, with a deal 'already approved' by the Glasgow giants for the Wales international - and he could be joined by Ibrox teammate Ridvan Yilmaz, who is believed surplus to requirements with the Gers. Jamie McGrath reveals Hibs set-piece secret as deadball specialist leaves Rocky Bushiri seeing stars

The Republic of Ireland international has made an impressive start to life in Leith It could be argued that Jamie McGrath 's dead-ball prowess should come with a health warning for both his team-mates and the opposition. ‌ The Hibs playmaker has already found the net with a stunning free-kick in the recent 1-1 Euro tie with Midtjylland in Denmark. ‌ And at the weekend he set up Rocky Bushiri for the opener in their 2-2 league draw with Kilmarnock. ‌ But that assist literally left Bushiri seeing stars as he headed McGrath's rocket into the back of the net at the back post. It is those attributes that have helped the 28-year-old hit the ground running at Easter Road since his summer switch from Aberdeen. And the Irishman is hoping he can contribute again as Hibs look to close out their Conference League third qualifying round tie with Partizan Belgrade on Thursday evening following last week's 2-0 victory in Serbia. McGrath said: 'I've just been practising since I've been young. You're never ever going to get every one of them right, but you have to give yourself the best chance to do it. 'I know the keeper had a good save in the first leg from a shot I took from a free-kick. 'It's practice on the training pitch and as a team we do a lot of set-plays and it's something that we pride ourselves on. ‌ 'We want to be the best in the league and it's a very important part of the game. 'As we've seen early on in the season, we've scored a lot of goals from set plays so far and it makes the job easier when you have lads like Rocky and Warren (O'Hora), Jack (Iredale) and Kieron (Bowie) in the box that are dying to get on the end of every ball. ‌ 'For Rocky's at the weekend, I literally just put one across the box and Rocky got his nose on it and lucky enough it didn't do any damage! 'We were laughing, he didn't even see the ball go in the net. He just blacked out and the ball was in the net. But it's a very important part of the game. 'I'm really enjoying my football at the minute. I think all the boys are. We have started the season with some nice performances, although obviously disappointed not to get past Midtjylland [in the Europa League].' ‌ Hibs boss David Gray has demanded that his players approach the game thinking the tie is 0-0 as they look to record another victory over the Serbians. With a 2-0 lead, Hibs could just try to protect what they've got but Gray has vowed they will not park the bus and McGrath is ready to carry out those orders. The Irishman added: 'We can't get complacent or anything like that. The gaffer's made us well aware of that. ‌ 'We can't go into the game thinking, oh, feet up or protect this two-goal lead. It's as if it's 0-0 and we have to try to win the game. He doesn't want us to be negative or take a step back and protect the lead. 'And I think that's important as well because once you start doing that, you can leave yourself open a bit more. 'Obviously now we'll be at home so we might maybe go at it a bit more on the front foot but it's going to be a very tough tie.' ‌ With Rangers having already negotiated their progress to the Champions League play-offs this week, both Hibs and Dundee United, who host Rapid Vienna this season following their 2-2 first leg, are looking to do the same to boost the feel-good factor around Scottish football. And ex-Wigan and St Mirren man McGrath insists the encouraging results are a sign Scottish football is on the up. He added: 'Since I even came here in 2020, I think the standard has gone right up. I see a lot more foreign players coming to the league as well. ‌ 'I think it's great for Dundee United, for Scottish football, for as many teams as possible to get into the group stages because I've seen some stuff about the co-officiants. 'It's very important that as many teams as possible can try to get into the group stages because at the end of the day, it's good for Scottish football. It's two big games [for Hibs and United] and hopefully both of us can get through it.' ‌ Hibs boss Gray knows his team can rely on the backing of sell-out home support at Easter Road and would love his fans to replicate an atmosphere similar to what they experienced in Belgrade. He said: 'We want to approach the game in a way that can get the crowd right behind us. That's something that we said the exact opposite going over there, can you quieten the crowd? 'Well, we tried! We did really well. Went two-nil up but the crowd was still very very loud for 90 odd minutes. 'The atmosphere and everything that came with that made it a special night to the point where you were speaking to some of the players on the plane on the way home and they came and said to me, 'Did you ever play an atmosphere like that?' 'I said it's the best one I've seen. I've been to Celtic Park and lot of them will have been to Tynecastle when you are getting booed and you're getting quite hostile atmospheres there. 'But they just couldn't believe the noise for as long as it was considering they were two-nil down, they didn't turn on their team at all.'
