AC MILAN v MONZA: MATCH PREVIEW
AC Milan are getting ready to face Monza on Serie A Matchday 38, scheduled for Saturday 24 May at 20:45 CEST at San Siro. Conceição's team will try to end a complicated season with victory. This is our Match Preview:
LATEST FROM MILANELLO The Rossoneri are fresh off a 3-1 away defeat to Roma, seeing their European hopes come to an end just like their good streak of results against Bologna (3-1), Genoa (2-1) and Venice (2-0). In the Coppa Italia, the Rossoneri showed good growth, but lost out in the Final at the Olimpico. However, the team are determined to put an end to the season in the best way possible in front of their home fans. Conceição and Gimenez are suspended, Chukwueze and Walker are unavailable, but Hernández and Bondo are both back, so we will likely see a few changes to the side.
LATEST FROM MONZA It has been a very difficult season for Monza, having spent pretty much the whole year in last place. Their relegation was confirmed well in advance of the end of the season. Last weekend, the Brianzoli lost 3-1 at home to Empoli just after winning their first game in a long time, 2-1 against Udine. Monza will try to finish the season with a positive performance and a surprise at San Siro. Nesta uses a 3-5-2 with Pizzignacco in goal, Bianco in the middle and Caprari up front; look out for Castrovilli, Mota and Baldé.
Nesta said: "On one hand I am glad the season is ending, even though I'm happy here in Monza. We have always had different issues, but they've all been good experience. AC Milan are a great team, they have strong players. Something hasn't gone well we already thinking of how to improve".
PRE-MATCH NUMBERS
The team who has won the most points from behind (AC Milan - 22), and the team with the least points recovered (Monza - 4) will face each other. AC Milan are the team with the most long balls into the striker (90), whereas Monza have the least (29).
AC Milan and Monza have never drawn in Serie A, with four Rossoneri wins and one for Monza. There is an average of 3.2 goals per match.
With a goal, Christian Pulisic would equal his goal-scoring record in Europe's Top 5 leagues (12 with AC Milan in 2023/24), but with a goal-contribution he would set a new record: 20 involvements in Serie A 2024/25 (11G, 9A), just like last year (12G+8A).
WHERE TO WATCH AC MILAN v MONZA ON TV In Italy, the game will be broadcast on DAZN. To watch it in a different country, you can check out the "Where to Watch AC Milan on TV" section under "Abroad". Deloitte report: European football revenue grows to €38 billion
Liverpool players celebrate on the open-top bus during the Premier League winners parade in Liverpool. Danny Lawson/PA Wire/dpa The European football market has grown by another 8% to a record €38 billion (€43.5 billion) in the 2023-24 season, according to the Annual Review of Football Finance published on Thursday by professional services company Deloitte. England's Premier League leads the way again as the top five leagues in Europe contributed €20.4 billion, a rise by 4%, the other being Germany's Bundesliga, Italy's Serie A, La Liga in Spain and Ligue 1 in France. Advertisement The 96 clubs achieved an operating profit the second straight season, of €600 million, according to the report which does not include transfer income. Deloitte said that additional commercial revue was the main driver, which in England reached €2 billion for the first time and €8 billion across the five leagues. Broadcast rights revenue remained the biggest source with €9.4 billion. England led the way again with €7.354 billion in total revenue, a rise of 8%, far ahead of Germany (€3.797 billion) and Spain (3.764 billion). The Bundesliga figure was a 1% decline from 2022-23, as matchday and commercial revenue went down 2% each while broadcast rights income rose 1%. Advertisement Deloitte named as the main reason for the drop the relegation of Schalke and Hertha Berlin, clubs with big stadiums and fan bases. Stefan Ludwig, head of Deloitte's Sport Business Group in Germany, said he expects the big five leagues to top €21 billion in 2024-25, but then stagnation because done broadcast deals show that none of the leagues managed a significant increase. In general, he added: "The pressure on clubs is increasing. They have to generate additional income and at the same time cope with rising costs in order to remain competitive."

Inter Milan Hierarchy Pleased With Early Transfer Window Blitz – Won't Rush Further Signings
The Inter Milan hierarchy are pleased with their blitz early in the transfer window, but won't rush further signings. This according to today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInter1908. Advertisement Inter Milan have already made a couple of notable signings this summer. The Nerazzurri have confirmed the arrivals of midfielder Petar Sucic and winger Luis Henrique. Therefore, Inter have taken advantage of the early transfer window for the FIFA Club World Cup. Both of these were deals that had been in the works for some time. In the case of Sucic, Inter had actually snapped up the Croatian in February. However, as part of the agreement he stayed at Dinamo Zagreb until the end of the season, only joining Inter this summer. Meanwhile, Inter had reportedly been laying the groundwork for Luis Henrique's signing for months. And then they finally reached a full agreement with Marseille. And they've done so in time for the Club World Cup, where players like Sucic and Henrique can start to bed in. Meanwhile, Inter have also given new coach Cristian Chivu two players who he can start to build around. Of course, Inter are far from finished with these two signings. They will certainly make at least two or three more notable ones. From the defense to the attack. However, reports Tuttosport, there will be no rush in this regard. Inter will have all of the regular transfer window in which to do the rest of their business. Therefore, Tuttosport anticipate, the Nerazzurri will be patient and get to work in the coming weeks.
