Texas A&M 2026 4-star WR commit has shut down his recruitment
This weekend was critical for Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko and his staff, who hosted 18 prospects from the 2026 recruiting class, including six commitments, led by four-star running back Jonathan Hatton and four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, who are both borderline five-star prospects with productive college careers ahead of them.
Keeping track of commits has been more challenging in today's NIL-based college football landscape. Still, after the House v. NCAA settlement was officially approved on Friday evening, schools will work with an average of $20.5 million of their revenue to share with their collegiate athletes. For Texas A&M, football, basketball, and baseball will take the majority of the funds.

For football prospects looking to play at the Power 4 level, NIL has created a relatively fair playing field. Once a recruit is set on their future destination, shutting down future visits is a definite sign of what we in the industry call a "hard" commitment. On Saturday, just hours after Jonathan Hatton confirmed his commitment, Aaron Gregory followed suit.
Amid the smoke regarding the Texas Longhorns attempting to flip Gregory, the elite pass catcher has reportedly shut down his commitment, taking to X with an official post detailing his reasoning for sticking with the Aggies moving forward:
"Why Texas A&M? Why not?"
"I chose the right program that I see fits me and my playing style the best! Everyone thinks it's about money. I have a REAL RELATIONSHIP with all thte coaches. Coach (Mike) Elko, Trooper (Taylor), (Holmon) Wiggins, and the rest of the staff had a relationship with me for some time now!"
"I AM COMMITTED TO TEXAS A&M. The community, fans and the team have welcomed me and my family with open arms. It's time to help build this 2026 class and become a LEGEND at Texas A&M."
Posting a video on X to confirm his further commitment, Gregory's dedication to helping build the remainder of Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class aligns with Mike Elko's recent comments regarding the strong foundation the program has established over the last year.
According to 247Sports Composite, Gregory is the 66th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 8th-ranked wide receiver, and the 7th-ranked prospect in Georgia.

The Mansfield Timberview incoming senior is also a noted track star, which also plays in Texas A&M's favor, given the program's elite status. Notre Dame gets good news on 2026 recruits Joey O'Brien, Evan Jacobson, and Kaydon Finley There is plenty going on the recruiting trail for Notre Dame football, and over the course of the last few days, its been a busy one. Multiple offers have been sent out to different classes, but that wasn't the only news that the Irish received. With 16 commitments in the 2026 cycle, Notre Dame has one the country's best at the current moment. For it to finish off near the top, they'll have to add multiple more players and keep the one's they have committed now. There is some good news and bad, so find out the latest on Notre Dame football's recruiting efforts. (Note: All rankings are via the 247Sports Composite.) 2026 safety Joey O'Brien This is a big visit for the Irish, as the 6-foot, 3-inch and 185-pound star is the No. 65 overall prospect. O'Brien is set to make his commitment on June 20th, and as of right now, he doesn't have any other trips planned. It's a battle between Oregon, Clemson, Penn State and Notre Dame, and we'll find out soon where the talented safety lands. 2026 tight end Evan Jacobson The Wisconsin tight end changed up his schedule, as Mike Singer reports that Auburn and Florida State are out, and replaced by Notre Dame and Iowa State. You have to like how this one is playing out for the Irish, as the 6-foot, 7-inch and 220-pounder has the potential to be very good. Jacobson, the No. 274 ranked player, has already taken visits to Texas A&M, Missouri and Stanford, but still needs more time to make up his mind. 2026 defensive tackle Alister Vallejo commits to Michigan While the Irish have multiple guys committed on the defensive line, they don't have a true interior player in that group yet. Vallejo has good size at 6-foot, 3-inches and 310-pounds and Notre Dame would have loved to beat out Michigan in this one, but you can't win them all. 2026 wide receiver Kaydon Finley Singer again reporting that Finley will make a commitment on July 4th, less than a month from now. The 6-foot and 200-pound receiver will be on campus for his official visit this weekend, so the Irish will have a final chance to show him why South Bend is the best option. The nation's No. 110 player still has an official to Texas for next weekend, so this one is far from over. What to make of this Losing Vallejo isn't ideal, but they do have Tiki Hola committed at the moment. It's his size that separates him, and it'll be hard to find a replacement for that. The O'Brien news is very encouraging, especially considering the timing of the situation. It does seem like Notre Dame has some ground to make up, but they could push themselves to the top after this weekend. Same goes for the Finley verbal date, and Jacobson's change of plans, as they can also be viewed as good developments for the Irish.

ESPN names Black 41 Flash Reverse Pass one of the top 25 plays in football since 2000 One of the more famous plays in the history of Nebraska football was recently named one of college football's greatest moments of the last two decades. ESPN ranked college football's top 25 plays since 2000, and at No. 21 on the list was "Black 41 Flash Reverse Pass" from the Huskers' 20-10 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners on Oct. 27, 2001. Eight ESPN writers and two editors nominated fifty-one plays, and that list was whittled down to 25 plays. The eight writers then ranked the moments from 1 to 25, with 25 points awarded for the top play, 24 for second place, and so on, until play No. 25. With the No. 3-ranked Cornhuskers leading the No. 2-ranked Sooners 13-10 in the fourth quarter and the ball at its own 37-yard line, head coach Frank Solich called Black 41 Flash Reverse Pass. ESPN described the play in detail. "His heroics mostly came from running the option, but on this play against Oklahoma, Crouch handed off the ball, peeled out into the flat and up the field as a receiver. The original ball carrier, Thunder Collins, handed it to Mike Stuntz on a reverse, and he hit Crouch sprinting down the sideline for a 63-yard touchdown." Nebraska would go on to win the game 20-10, and Eric Crouch would win the Heisman Trophy in one of the closest votes in the award's history. Crouch beat Florida sophomore quarterback Rex Grossman 770 points to 708 votes. Crouch's 770 points are the fewest by a Heisman winner since Terry Baker won the award in 1962 with 707 points.
