Tomorrowland Goes on as Scheduled After New Mainstage Erected: Watch the Livestream
The development occurred after the festival announced Thursday (July 17) that it might either sequester a portion of its day one attendees to a stage in the festival's camping area for sets by the Friday headliners, or open the entire site to all day one guests.

Workers on site at the event were able to clear the mainstage area and then construct a new stage setup to host the event's headlining acts, which on Friday included Nervo, Axwell, Martin Garrix, Alok, Artbat & Kolsch and Meduza. As seen in the stream and photos shared by the festival on social media, the quickly constructed new mainstage is built from a DJ booth and a wall of LED panels, behind which the remains of the massive structure that burned are visible, along with heavy machinery.
The set-up can be seen in the event's livestream, which is being broadcast from several of the festival's roughly 16 stages. The mainstage lineup is available here and the rest of the performances are available here.
No one was injured in the fire, and its cause has not yet been announced.
The current situation at Tomorrowland is arguably the best possible outcome following the unprecedented fire. On Wednesday (July 16), the festival advised that there was a chance it might not open at all if the site was determined unsafe by the authorities, but that go-ahead came and the event managed to construct a new mainstage in time to open the entirety of the site.
In the hours before the festival opened for its first day on Friday, organizers posted a statement announcing, 'Dear People of Tomorrow, WE ARE READY FOR YOU! Our teams are working day and night, with heart and soul, to turn the impossible into reality: Tomorrowland Belgium 2025 will open doors at 14:00. An alternative setup for the beloved Mainstage is planned to open at 16:00, pending any last-minute changes. All artists will perform as scheduled on all other stages as from 14:00. Tomorrowland will unite, stronger than ever!'
The first weekend of Tomorrowland 2025 continues until Sunday (July 20), while its second weekend is happening July 25-27.

Billy Joel feels 'good' after brain disorder diagnosis
Billy Joel says he is feeling "good", two months on from announcing his diagnosis with rare brain condition Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). Speaking on Bill Maher's Club Random podcast, the five-time Grammy winner said his condition was "still being worked on", and he was struggling with his balance. "I feel good, they keep referring to what I have as a brain disorder, so it sounds a lot worse than what I'm feeling," said the singer-songwriter. Joel was forced to cancel a series of concert dates in May this year, after his doctors told him that his condition had been "exacerbated by recent performances". NPH is described by the NHS as an uncommon and poorly understood condition that most often affects people over the age of 60. The condition causes a build-up of fluid in the brain, which can affect hearing, vision and mobility. In the original statement shared on the 76-year-old singer's Instagram, Joel was said to be undergoing "specific" physical therapy for his condition, and that he was "fully committed to prioritising his health". His wife, Alexis Joel, wrote in a separate post that the family were "grateful for the wonderful care and swift diagnosis we received", and that they were hopeful for a swift recovery. Joel called off 17 planned performances in North America and Europe across 2025 and 2026, including stadium shows at Murrayfield in Edinburgh and Anfield in Liverpool. Joel, who's known for hits including Uptown Girl and Piano Man, has regularly been on tour in recent years. He ended a record-breaking decade-long residency at Madison Square Garden in New York last year. His final performance was in February 2025, when he fell on his back during his performance after throwing a microphone stand into the crowd. He announced a postponement of his tour shortly afterwards, citing a medical condition that required him to undergo physical therapy as part of his recovery from a recent surgery. Popular Tourist Hotel Devolves Into Pool Brawl in Wild Video
A pool day turned perilous at a hotel in Benidorm, Spain, recently with over 10 men caught on video in an all-out brawl. The video, originally posted to TikTok, shows a man in a blue bathing suit getting out of the pool and pushing another man dressed in a black t-shirt, pants, and white sneakers into the pool. He then starts throwing punches at another man, who is seemingly a security guard or hotel employee. The scene swells from there, with the man dressed in black getting out of the pool and throwing punches back at the man in blue and a group of his friends all dressed in bathing suits. More security guards join the fray, with some trying to hold back the people fighting while others fight back. View the to see embedded media. As more employees join, the fighting turns to yelling and the camera pans to show a crowded pool full of other people watching. In the background of the fight, near the group of men in bathing suits, an English flag is being flown with the words 'Mansfield Town' and 'Ashs Stag 2025,' hinting that these may have been British tourists celebrating a bachelor party. A second video posted to the same TikTok page is captioned "what started it all, the bouncer hitting the British lad for having a laugh." In the video, the man originally in the blue bathing suit is seen -- naked -- jumping into the pool in front of a crowd of onlookers. He jumps directly onto the railing as he is chased by the security guard, who continuously tells the man to get out of the pool. The man goes deeper into the pool as he puts his bathing suit back on and his friends surround the security guard. The original brawl video, which is set to the popular Jet2 Holiday trending sound, garnered 250,000 likes in 48 hours.
