Chrome Security Warning Issued By Indian Govt For Desktop Users: What It Says

Chrome security risks are once again making the headlines and the Indian government is warning millions of users about the issues.
Google Chrome users on Windows and Macs have been warned about a serious issue that can make it easy for hackers to bypass the security and steal information. The alert from the Indian government this week is also making millions of PC/Mac users aware about the situation and asking them to act on these concerns right away.
The alert has been issued by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team or CERT-IN, on August 13 comes with a 'high-severity' alert to users of Google Chrome on popular platforms like Windows, macOS and Linux.
The CERT-In warning for Chrome this week clearly highlights issues with multiple components in the web browser that can be exploited by attackers to control the devices or steal data. 'These vulnerabilities exist in Google chrome for Desktop due to Heap buffer overflow in libaom, Race condition in V8, Out of bounds write in ANGLE, Inappropriate implementation in File Picker and Use after free in Aura."
Warnings like these are not new but Chrome is popular among users, which makes it a prime target for hackers, especially if they have security issues to exploit and steal data.
The advice from CERT-In also points out that hackers can look to target businesses and personal Chrome users on desktop which means nobody is safe from their prying eyes.

Here's what you need to install the latest version of Chrome for your Windows/Mac system:
Access the menu with three dots located in the upper left corner
Click on 'Help'
Click on 'About Google Chrome
Chrome will auto-check for updates and install for your version
