JoJo Siwa Reacts To Mom Bleaching Hair
Last year, the world was stunned to learn that JoJo Siwa isn't a natural blonde.
While she's had blonde hair since her early TV days, it turned out that she's really a natural brunette. JoJo's mom, Jessalynn Siwa, started dyeing her hair when she was just 2 years old.
The revelation about JoJo's true hair color came in April 2024 via a viral tweet, and not long after, the internet had discovered receipts confirming it was true.
One resurfaced clip from Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition showed Jessalynn dyeing a then-9-year-old JoJo's hair. "Nothing's off limits when it comes to doing what I think will benefit JoJo," she said. "She's the Rapunzel of 2013.'In another scene, JoJo confirmed that she'd been dyeing her hair since she was around "two, maybe one-and-a-half.""I'm not a natural blonde," she added. "I'm actually a natural brown. I get brown roots, so I have to dye it so it looks like I'm a natural blonde."
Obviously, Jessalynn received a lot of criticism for that — but JoJo is standing by her.
She defended her mom on the June 6 episode of the Rosebud With Gyles Brandreth podcast.
JoJo said, "If, right now, I was to be miserable, sad, unhappy with my life, unhappy with my career and ... if I was to be like no, I'm an all natural brown, I want my hair normal, I want to be clean-cut, then I would say, oh my mom didn't do what she was supposed to do."
JoJo said her mom did exactly what she was supposed to do because it ensured her success. "Without her, I would never be doing what I want to be doing," the "Karma" singer continued.
Of course, she realizes her opinion might change with age. "I am honest when I say my brain is not fully developed," JoJo, 22, acknowledged. "I know my thoughts are probably gonna change on my childhood and how I feel in the next three years — you know, as a woman your brain's developed when you're 25. But I think I'm definitely ahead, of course, in life when it comes to brain development, but where I'm at right now, I absolutely love my childhood, and I wouldn't change a thing about it at all."
"She did everything right," JoJo insisted.

JoJo Siwa's ex Kath Ebbs asks for space to 'heal in peace'
JoJo Siwa's ex Kath Ebbs wants to "heal in peace". Kath - who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns - has responded to people "constantly" trolling them over their ex's newly confirmed romance with Chris Hughes, who she met during her time in the 'Celebrity Big Brother UK' house. In a series of posts on her Instagram Story, she wrote: "Last month was mental health month and this month is pride... "I wish people would put themselves in someone else's shoes for a moment before indulging in this kind of online toxicity. "Better yet to a person that literally did nothing wrong. I'm so sick of being gaslight over and over again by said people and the public. It needs to stop. "You don't need to choose sides, instead you could do me the courtesy of letting me in heal in peace." Kath, 27, urged their critics to "be obsessed with those that are screaming for attention", while pointing out they have "never asked for any of this". They wrote: "People constantly troll me and telling me to 'get over it' whilst simultaneously not getting over it themselves. JoJo Siwa is opening up about her "beautiful journey" with Chris Hughes. The two met in April on Celebrity Big Brother UK, and, as viewers saw, quickly became close. JoJo initially described their connection as "platonic" soulmates, but recently things between them turned romantic. "It's been a beautiful journey," JoJo said during a June 6 appearance on the podcast Rosebud With Gyles Brandreth. "The word serendipity is Christopher and I's favorite word now. If you read the definition of it, it's essentially finding love when you're least looking for it. I don't know how the universe aligned for Chris to come into my life." When asked what she finds "special" about him, JoJo replied, "What's not? Absolutely everything is." "It's really interesting with Christopher," she continued. "Initially, the first thing I took in about him was [that] he was a good hugger. I liked his hug, like, it felt like a nice embrace. And he smelled good. I was like, he seemed cool." "It started very much as friends," JoJo stated. "I wasn't looking to fall for him. He wasn't looking to fall for me. We just were having so much fun together. We were having a laugh together. Chris appeared to make their relationship public on Sunday when he shared a photo in bed with JoJo. A day later, she confirmed their relationship was no longer "platonic." "It's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection," she told the Guardian, "and I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way."
