Brother raising money in memory of teen photographer Liz Hatton
Money is being raised through the charity Capture, set up by Liz's family to fund research into desmoplastic small round cell tumours and the care given to young sufferers.Liz and Mateo's mother Vicky Robayna said: "For those young people it is really important that they make the most out of each and every day because the future is really uncertain but there's currently no research out there on young people's views of palliative care."She said Liz's consultant, Dr Bob Phillips, gave her "real choices about how to live the rest of her life"."She knew that he would go all-out to find a solution that didn't involve her having to spend ages in hospital, so she would definitely approve of us trying to give that gift to other young people," she added.
Mateo said the idea for the "Splash and Stitch" event came from combining both of his hobbies."I didn't know how to knit until a year ago when one of my favourite teachers at school taught me how to knit and crochet," he said. "I guess it just relaxes me."Swimming is special to Mateo, his mum added, as Liz watched his first session with Harrogate District swimming squad the night before she died."Unlike Mateo, she was not a fan of swimming, so she was so so proud of him for being such a good swimmer," Vicky said."She was just truly amazing - what she did with her camera, her supportiveness."
Friends from the knitting club at Mateo's school are lending their support and visited for the first two hours of the challenge which was due to last from 14:00 on Friday until 14:00 on Saturday."I think if Liz was here she would really like what we're doing and she would be really proud of Mateo and everyone who supported her, because she was a very nice person," schoolfriend Paloma said.

Tulisa's bombshell claims: Singer details battle with addiction, suicide attempts and her heartbreaking response to sex tape scandal
Tulisa Contostavlos is leaving no stone unturned in her upcoming autobiography, detailing her battle with addiction, two suicide attempts and her sex tape scandal. The singer, 37, vowed to be 'brutally honest' in the tome, titled Judgement: Love, Trials and Tribulations, and has stayed true to her word. According to The Mirror, the N-Dubz star charts her 'year from hell' amid her drug sting trial, which led to two suicide attempts. She penned of the day she found out she was going to be charged on suspicion of being involved with the supply of Class A drugs: 'Why is this happening to me? 'What's the point in being alive just to be miserable? How am I ever going to find happiness after this? Even if I'm found innocent, I'll be empty inside by the time I get to the end of it, and my life will be ruined.' Thankfully, she was found by former best friend Gareth Varey who called an ambulance after finding her in her bathroom surrounded by empty packets of sleeping pills. While Tulisa was revived, she made a second attempt on her life months later amid her trial, which resulted in her being hospitalised for three days. Throughout any challenging times, Tulisa would try and comfort herself by locking herself in the bathroom. She explained: 'When I was a child, the bathroom was the only room in my house with a lock. I had always locked myself in there in times of distress, whether it was because my parents were going at it like two bulls in a china shop again, or my mentally ill mother was going off the rails. It had always been my place of safety. 'And twenty years later, here I was: back lying on the bathroom floor. Deep-rooted issues, I suppose. When the sex tape had come out, I had slept on the bathroom floor for five days.' Tulisa's ex Justin Edwards - who she had broken up with in 2009 - released a sex tape of her in 2012 during the height of her fame. Revenge porn was not illegal at the time, meaning she only managed to get a court apology from him. Elsewhere in the book, Tulisa also revealed that while she suffered from depression she became addicted to sleeping tablets and benzodiazepines, a habit she broke free from last year after she 'found her peace and faith'. Tulisa's memoir documents her rise to prominence and subsequent fall from grace after being targeted by the disgraced 'Fake Sheikh', Mazher Mahmood. The singer later admitted her life 'fell apart' following an elaborate sting that resulted in her being arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs, an accusation she vehemently denied. As the drama played out in court, Tulisa opted to keep a journal in which she detailed the toll her trial had taken on her personal life, and the devastating impact it had on her career. Released by Blink Publishing for Bonnier Books UK, Judgement is now available to purchase.

Piers Morgan reveals secret Britain's Got Talent judge who was never seen on screen
PIERS Morgan opened up on what Britain's Got Talent might have looked like if the original format had gone ahead. The TV presenter, 60, became a household name in the U.S after agreeing to take on the role of the "meanie" judge on America's Got Talent in place of the show's creator, Simon Cowell. 4 4 4 But before finding fame across the pond, Piers was meant to be a judge on the talent show in the U.K, long before the American version was made. Piers shared a vintage photo from the 2005 pilot of a show tested by ITV that would go on to become Britain's Got Talent, but looked very different indeed. In the photo posted to Instagram, Piers is sitting at the judges' desk alongside then host of This Morning, Fern Cotton, and music mogul, Simon Cowell. Piers revealed the late Paul O'Grady was meant to host the show and it was named after him, but it fell through when the late TV star fell out with ITV. "Another amazing pic from my past, also randomly posted on X by someone yesterday.. This one is truly historic… it was the first ever panel assembled for the Got Talent franchise anywhere in the world," Piers began in the caption. "Simon Cowell had come up with the idea of a new talent show, ITV ordered a pilot episode to be filmed, and cast Simon, me and Fern Britton (then presenting This Morning) as the judges." Piers continued:" It was hosted by the late, great Paul O'Grady.. and called 'Paul O'Grady's Got Talent'. The acts sat in the audience and came down onto the stage when it was their turn to perform." He described the format as "hysterical" and how ITV was ready to give it the green light, but then "shelved it" after the row with Paul. "However, Simon isn't one of life's quitters, and a few weeks later he texted me to say he'd sold the rights to NBC in the U.S., they wanted to repackage it as 'America's Got Talent', and he wanted me as a judge on it to play the tough meanie role because he was committed to American Idol so couldn't do it," Piers added. "(He said, 'Piers, I need someone as arrogant, obnoxious and judgemental as me, and your name has immediately sprung to mind!')." Piers Morgan's ex wife left 'fighting for her life' after freak accident as son Spencer reveals hospital pics Piers continued:" A month later, I was on the Paramount movie lot in Hollywood, with a trailer next to David Hasselhoff's, and we started filming @agt." The journalist described America's Got Talent as "an instant smash hit No1 summer show in America" to which he owes his "entire and I owe my entire 20-year career over in the States" for. Piers concluded: "The following year @bgt launched in the UK but with Amanda Holden replacing Fern. That was also a No1 smash hit, and Got Talent has now aired in 69 countries, becoming one of the most successful television franchises in history. And it all started with this pic." Before his death, Paul had confirmed that he'd been lined up to host the show, but hated the original name. He said: "I did the pilot for Britain's Got Talent – which was originally going to be called Paul O'Grady's Got Talent. But I told the producers they were having a joke if they thought I would front a show with that title. "The original panel of judges was going to be Simon Cowell, Fern Britton and Piers Morgan. I was the host. Then when I had the row with ITV I was banned from the studios." 4
