What is the Fortnite Wallet Card and how to use it?
Image via Epic Games.
The days of buying stuff with only a credit card are now going to end in Fortnite, thanks to the all new Fortnite Wallet Card. There is no doubt that Fortnite is one of the most popular games of all time, and also one of the richest gaming franchises as well, despite being a free-to-play title.
However, the credit goes to the game's diverse cosmetics. This epic battle royale title is known for its huge array of character skins, gliders, emotes, wraps, and many more. And who doesn't know about the larger-than-life collaborations of Fortnite! That is why to tick all your buying boxes in Fortnite, the Wallet Card is going to be pretty handy.
Everything you need to know about the Fortnite Wallet Card
In Fortnite, almost everything you buy needs V-Bucks to purchase. This is the staple in-game currency in the title, exchanging which you can buy accessories and stuff like skins, emotes, and many more.
The primary source V-Bucks is the standard Battle Pass, which offers 200 V-Bucks each season.
If you want to go beyond that, then you need to buy V-Bucks from a retailer or online in the game with real-world money. But the catch is that you can buy that only by a credit card as other payment options aren't available. There are exclusive rewards in the game which can only be purchased through real-world money, obviously via a credit card, instead of V-Bucks.
That's where the Fortnite Wallet Card comes in. Those who don't own a credit card will soon be able to buy V-Bucks or those exclusive rewards via this new card. So, what are these? Fortnite Wallet Cards is a special type of physical forms of real-world money which players can cash-in the game without any hassle. These cards aren't available in the game right now, but according to rumors, will be launched later this year in the game.
These Wallet Cards come in different values ranging from $15 to $150. However, players need to keep in mind that they look quite similar to the already existing V-Bucks cards but unlike these, the Wallet Card doesn't add V-Bucks to your Fortnite account, it adds actual money. With this money, you will be able to buy V-Bucks as well as previously mentioned exclusive in-game stuff.
For those who are wondering what will happen to the residual money in the account can rest assured as the remaining fund will stay in the account. Now, it's still unclear if this card is accessible in Fortnite only, or players will be able to use it across their Epic Games accounts, like in other games or for other Epic Games Store contents.

Apple loses bid to halt court ruling that blocks some fees from its iPhone app store
A three-judge appeals panel rejected Apple's request to pause an April 30 order banning the company from charging a fee on in-app iPhone transactions processed outside its once-exclusive payment system in a two-page decision issued late Thursday. The setback threatens to divert billions of dollars in revenue away from Apple while it tried to overturn the order reining in its commissions from e-commerce within iPhone apps. Apple sought to put the order on hold after it was issued by U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez-Rogers in a stinging rebuke that also held the Cupertino, California, company in civil contempt of court and recommended opening a criminal investigation into whether one of its executives had committed perjury while testifying in her Oakland, California, courtroom. It marked another twist of the screw in a legal battle initiated nearly five years ago by video game maker Epic Games, which alleged Apple had turned the iPhone's app store had been turned into a price-gouging monopoly. The antitrust case focused largely on the 15% to 30% commissions that Apple rakes in from a portion of the commerce conducted within iPhone apps under a system that prohibited app makers from offering alternative payment methods. Apple is still seeking to overturn Gonzalez-Rogers' ruling in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, but her order blocking Apple's commissions on some in-app commerce will remain in effect while potentially leaving a dent in its profits. 'The long national nightmare of the Apple tax is ended,' Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney wrote in a post after the appeals court denied Apple's request. In a statement, Apple said it was disappointed with the denial of its stay request and vowed to pursue its appeal 'to ensure the app store remains an incredible opportunity for developers and a safe and trusted experience for our users.' Although Gonzalez-Rogers mostly sided with Apple in her initial 2021 ruling in the case, she ordered the company to begin allowing apps to include links to alternative payment systems — a decision that withstood appeals that went all the way to the Supreme Court in 2024. Apple then complied by requiring commissions of 12% to 27%, provoking Epic to ask Gonzalez-Rogers to hold Apple in contempt of her order. After holding a new round of hearings that unfolded over a nine-month period straddling last year and this year, Gonzalez-Rogers brought down another legal hammer on Apple. Tesla's China shipments extend slump, bucking broader sales boom
Tesla Inc.'s vehicle shipments from its China factory fell for an eighth straight month, extending a global sales slump as Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk pledges to renew his focus on the automaker. The EV maker shipped 61,662 Model 3 sedans and Model Y sport utility vehicles from its Shanghai plant in May, down 15% from the same time last year, according to preliminary data from China's Passenger Car Association. The group didn't provide a breakdown of domestic sales and exports. Registrations across some of Europe's biggest EV markets tumbled in April even as Tesla started shipping the redesigned Model Y SUV to customers. Chinese EV giant BYD Co. sold more EVs in Europe than Tesla for the first time ever in April, according to market researcher Jato Dynamics. Musk has said he's committed to leading Tesla and expects to pare back his political spending after his level of engagement with the carmaker came under growing scrutiny. His involvement in global politics and close ties to US President Donald Trump have sparked protests across the US and Europe and has weighed on EV sales.
