An Annapolis County woman last seen on Saturday has been found dead.
According to the RCMP, the woman was found Monday at 7:25 a.m. by ground search and rescue volunteers in a wooded area near the location where she was last seen.
Nova Scotia RCMP say the woman went missing from a "loved ones" home near the 9500 block of Highway 10 in Nictaux at around 1:20 p.m Saturday.
Search and rescue operations began after she was reported missing at 8 p.m. Saturday, RCMP Cpl. Guillaume Tremblay said on Sunday.
On Sunday, approximately 50 people were part of the search, including volunteers from ground search and rescue teams in Lunenburg, Yarmouth, Clare, Annapolis Valley, Annapolis County, West Hants and North Queens.
An investigation is underway, police say.
Tremblay says anyone with information that hasn't been provided to the RCMP should contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers or their nearest detachment.

On Aug. 4, 36-year-old Catalin Feraru was arrested in connection with the incident and has been charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and fraud over $5,000. Story continues below advertisement Suspect wanted In another incident, a man was walking in the 500 block of Toronto Street on Aug. 1, when he was approached by a suspect carrying costume jewelry and a gift. The suspect used a distraction technique to remove a gold chain from the man's neck and replace it with a fake one. The man eventually realized what was happening and confronted the suspect, who fled in a vehicle. An arrest warrant has been issued for 31-year-old Ionut-Vasile Bivolaru, and anyone who has information on his whereabouts or may have interacted with him to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS.

Bracebridge murder suspect confirmed dead after arson, police say

A man wanted in connection with three deaths and arson at a home in Bracebridge, Ont. Friday night, has died, police say. The 29-year-old was one of the people found dead in the home, OPP said in a Wednesday post on X, formerly Twitter. He died of smoke inhalation, police said. Police say they responded to a report of gunfire around 8 p.m. on Beatrice Town Line Road on Friday. They arrived to find a 60-year-old Bracebridge man dead and the house engulfed in flames. The cause of his death was a gunshot wound, they said. After investigating, officers confirmed two more people were found dead inside the home, which was destroyed in the fire, OPP said in a news release Sunday. Police said Wednesday post-mortem examinations confirmed one was the 29-year-old suspect, who was wanted for murder, and the second was a 59-year-old woman of Bracebridge, who died from a gunshot wound. A shelter-in-place was in effect for Bracebridge until 1:45 a.m. on Saturday. Later that day, police said there was no threat to public safety. Edmonton police looking for missing Indigenous teen

Edmonton police are seeking the public's assistance locating a missing 14-year-old boy. Maverick Moser was last seen on the evening of July 29 wearing a blue and white jacket, black shorts and black sneakers. The Indigenous teen has medium length black hair and brown eyes. He is 5'7' and weighs around 140 lb. Police say he regularly uses transit and is known to frequent central, northeast and southeast areas of the city – particularly Northgate Mall, the Coliseum, Westmount and Londonderry Mall. Due to his age and the duration of time he's been missing, Moser's family, friends and the police are concerned for his well-being. Anyone with information about Moser's whereabouts is asked to contact Edmonton police at 780-423-4567. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
