UP Horror: 9-Year-Old Boy Killed By Relatives In Human Sacrifice Ritual
The victim, Aarush Gaur(9), had gone missing on April 17 from Patkhauli village under Bhaluwani Police Station. After an intensive investigation, police arrested four of his relatives, who have now confessed to the gruesome crime.
According to Superintendent of Police Vikrant Vir, the main accused, Jaiprakash Gaur, claimed during interrogation that his nephew, Indrajeet Kumar Gaur, believed his wife was "possessed" by a supernatural force. In a shocking turn, he was told that a human sacrifice was needed to cure her.
Following this advice, Indrajeet gave Rs 50,000 to his relative Ramashankar (alias Shankar Gaur) to arrange for a young child. Ramashankar shockingly brought his nephew, Aarush, for the ritual.
On April 19, Indrajeet, along with Bheem Gaur and others, performed a black magic ritual in an orchard located in Pipra Chandrabhan village. During the ritual, they allegedly cut Aarush's throat and buried his body there.
But the horror didn't end there. The accused later dug up the body, stuffed it in a sack, and dumped it into a river in Gauraghat, Barhaj, on April 20 using a pickup vehicle.
After weeks of investigation, police arrested Jaiprakash, Indrajeet (alias Atul Kumar), Bheem Gaur, and Ramashankar. All four have been sent to jail.
The brutal killing has shocked the entire region, raising serious concerns about the continued belief in superstitions and occult practices in some rural areas. Police have assured strict action and a thorough investigation in the matter.

After he was accused of kidnapping and robbing a Delhi businessman, Vikash Yadav, the former R&AW officer who was named by US authorities as a co-conspirator in an alleged plot to kill Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, is now being linked to an alleged member of the 'Mahadev Online Book' betting racket, Delhi police records show. On December 18, 2023, the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested Yadav after an FIR was filed against him by a Rohini resident, accusing him of extortion and kidnapping and linking him to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The arrest came just three weeks after Yadav's name was listed in the Pannun case by US authorities. Police records show the probe in the Rohini case against Yadav led to the arrest on July 1 this year of a man identified as Jalaluddin alias Sameer in Chanakyapuri for his alleged key role in the criminal conspiracy. 'The probe revealed that Jalaluddin, who worked with the online book app in Dubai, approached Yadav to kidnap the complainant and threaten him as he was not paying up money owed. Yadav roped in his associate Khan, who works as a car dealer, and they got Rs 16 lakh through hawala from Jalaluddin,' sources said. The investigation officer (IO) is likely to inform the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is probing the Mahadev case, about Jalaluddin, the sources said. In the Rohini case FIR, the complainant had alleged that after kidnapping him, Yadav claimed there was a 'supari' (contract) to eliminate him from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi at the behest of Dubai-based Jalaluddin. 'The complainant told them he had nothing to do with Lawrence Bishnoi, but Abdullah Khan (Yadav's alleged associate) threatened him with a pistol. They told him that he was not making some pending payment to Jalaluddin. Yadav also received a call from Jalaluddin and he mentioned that the first dose of injection had been given to him,' the complainant alleged in the FIR. The complainant had also claimed he was 'hit on my head' by Khan, and forced to hand over his gold chain and rings. He claimed they also visited a café that he runs and took cash from the outlet. On July 23, while hearing a bail plea by Jalaluddin, Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Partap Singh Laler ruled that he 'should not leave the country without prior permission of the court, his passport is already seized by the IO and he should not tamper with evidence, influence witnesses, or contact the complainant directly or indirectly'. All the three accused, including Yadav, are out on bail, and police have started preparing a supplementary chargesheet in the Rohini case. The complainant's advocate, Rahul Thukral, said they will oppose Jalaluddin's bail in the Delhi High Court. 'After the registration of the FIR in 2023, he was threatening the complainant and since he is out on bail, the complainant is still scared,' he said. Jaggayyapet cops bust chain-snatching gang linked to murder plot
Vijayawada: Police in NTR district have arrested three men in connection with a series of gold-chain thefts, uncovering a broader criminal conspiracy that included plans for a targeted murder. During searches, police recovered a stolen motorcycle and three gold chains, weighing a total of 82 grams and valued at approximately Rs 6.5 lakh. The case is linked to an earlier murder in Jaggayyapet's Cheruvu Bazaar, where a temple priest was killed. Investigators identified Bathula Kishore as the primary accused (A1) in that murder. Police now say Kishore himself became the target of a separate murder plot allegedly orchestrated by the priest's brother-in-law, Vemula Tirupathi Rao of Nawabupeta in Penuganchiprolu mandal. According to police, Tirupathi Rao instructed Golla Gopi of Jaggayyapet to eliminate Kishore. Gopi then roped in two former associates — Macha Venkatesh of Kothapeta in Mangalagiri and Pathan Salim Basha of Lakshminarasimha Colony — to carry out the attack. The trio reportedly conducted a night-time reconnaissance at Kishore's residence, but finding him absent, stole his motorcycle and used it to commit a string of chain thefts. Uttarakhand HC orders notice before arrest in fraud cases involving over Rs 19L
Dehradun: Uttarakhand high court (HC) has ruled that a notice must be issued before arresting an accused in a fraud and cheating case involving over Rs 19 lakh. The court directed police to serve a notice under Section 35(3) of the BNSS, which specifies conditions for arrest without a warrant, and to follow the Supreme Court's guidelines in Arnesh Kumar vs State of Bihar, aimed at preventing unnecessary arrests in cases where the maximum punishment is less than seven years. The single bench of Justice Pankaj Purohit delivered the order in connection with the arrest of Pantnagar resident Raghavendra Mishra, accused of defrauding an individual of approximately Rs 19.8 lakh by allegedly impersonating a district magistrate. On July 22, Kashipur resident Jyoti Bisht lodged a complaint at ITI police station in Udham Singh Nagar, alleging that Mishra, along with his wife Preeti Mishra and their daughter Anshika Tiwari, cheated her late husband, Suresh Singh Bisht, of nearly Rs 19.8 lakh. The accused allegedly promised to secure an agency and licence for agricultural fertilisers, arrange jobs for children, and issue certificates. Bisht further claimed they demanded an additional Rs 7 lakh in Jan, threatening that failure to pay would result in forfeiture of the earlier sum. She said the financial and mental strain led her husband to suffer a brain haemorrhage on Jan 15, and he died a week later on Jan 22 at Delhi's Max Hospital. When she sought the return of the money, the accused allegedly abused her and issued death threats. With no action from local police or the SSP despite repeated complaints, she approached the high court. On Friday, while disposing of her petition in line with Arnesh Kumar guidelines, the court clarified that since the maximum punishment under the charges is seven years, issuing a notice before arrest is mandatory.
