He could be on the move this summer. It was reported earlier this month that Kyogo is 'expected' to leave Rennes, with Bournemouth interested in finding out the terms of a potential transfer.
Now, a new team from England's top flight has emerged in the race in the form of Brentford. Indeed, reports from Le Parisien [via RecordSport] claim that Rennes have held 'positive' talks with the London club regarding a potential deal.
Thomas Frank's side finished 10th in the Premier League last season.
Should he move to the Gtech Community Stadium, Furuhashi would link up with fellow former Celt Kristoffer Ajer, who joined Brentford in 2021.
Furuhashi played 165 times in green and white, falling 15 shy of the 100-goal mark.
His agent, Joel Pannick, opened up on his Celtic exit a few months back: "We had teams from all over the world express interest," he told The Sunday Times.
"There are certain markets where it would have been a very lucrative contract, but what sporting ambitions would realistically be achieved, particularly with the World Cup in mind in 18 months?
"Then we had to speak to Celtic to understand their perspective because a club has no desire to lose their best player halfway through the season."

‘I want to suffer, I want to feel bad' – Pep Guardiola reveals he struggled to eat during Man City's horror season

PEP GUARDIOLA struggled to eat during Manchester City's miserable campaign. The Etihad boss oversaw a first trophyless season since 2017 with a third-placed Prem finish, shock FA Cup final loss to Crystal Palace and play-off round Champions League exit to Real Madrid. 5 5 It was only the second time in Guardiola's managerial career he failed to win any silverware — and he hopes to get his appetite back for City's Club World Cup bid this month. The Spaniard, 54, said: 'I want to suffer when I'm not winning games. I want to feel bad. I want to sleep badly. 'My food, it tastes worse. I don't need to eat much as I need to feel that [anger].' Yet Guardiola does not think he needs to prove people wrong next season. He added: 'It's to prove to myself that I can do it. I don't want to have those feelings that last season left. 'When we win, the wine tastes better afterwards, you sleep better. I don't know a manager who loses and sleeps like a baby. You've got to worry. It's part of your life. 'I will not judge myself or my team because of bad seasons or good seasons... 'Maybe finishing third in a season and never giving up — otherwise you finish tenth or 12th — maybe that's a better season than when we won the fourth Premier League in a row. Guardiola quoted former Uruguayan president Jose Mujica, 'I will quit' - Pep Guardiola gives Man City ultimatum over squad issue that is 'impossible for my soul' 5 'Success is how many times you stand up when you fall down' as he bids to learn from the season's setbacks. The Etihad chief, who has won 12 domestic league titles across spells in Spain, Germany and England, added: 'Fall down, stand up. Fall down, stand up. 'That is the biggest success. Winners are boring. It's nice to see the losers. That's when you really learn.' Guardiola dismissed the idea he is an exceptional manager. Speaking to Reuters during a break in Barcelona, he said: 'Do you think I feel special because I won a lot of titles? No! Forget about it. 'Special is the doctor who saves lives. People who invented penicillin. That's a genius. Me, genius? Come on.' Guardiola hopes to have an injection of new blood when City kick off their Club World Cup bid in America on June 18 against Moroccan side Wydad AC. He is set to sign AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, 26, and also wants 21-year-old Lyon winger Rayan Cherki and Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, 23. Guardiola added: 'The new players will bring us energy that we need to lift the team again. We can lift trophies.' The ex-Barca and Bayern Munich manager has no plans to leave City anytime soon. But he added: 'I'd love to be in a World Cup, in a Euros, a Copa America. I have always thought about it... 'Stress is always there but nobody put a gun to my head forcing me to choose this job.' 5 5

Lewis Hamilton's character clear as rival makes admission about F1 relationship

Isack Hadjar has opened up about his relationship with Lewis Hamilton, admitting that he doesn't seek driving advice from the seven-time world champion as he is still a rival Lewis Hamilton has demonstrated his competitive edge, refraining from giving rookie Isack Hadjar any tips despite their budding rapport. The Formula 1 icon, who is experiencing a challenging debut season with Ferrari after his high-profile departure from Mercedes, has yet to secure even a single podium finish in his opening nine races for the Prancing Horse. At the Spanish Grand Prix, where he achieved a respectable seventh-place finish, 20-year-old Racing Bulls up-and-comer Hadjar opened up about his interactions with Hamilton, who is 20 years his senior. Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, he said: "It's always nice to race with him, spend time with him. ‌ "Sometimes talking to him is great because he's someone I've supported since I was very young. And now being alongside his father great; we get along well. Obviously, there's a big age gap. There's a lot of respect." ‌ Despite sharing track time and forming a personal connection with the seven-time world champion, Hadjar also explained that the nature of their competition limits the extent of Hamilton's guidance. He added: "He doesn't give me much advice because we're still rivals. If I need advice, I'll ask, but I don't need help. I don't like asking for help; I prefer to learn on my own," reports the Express. Elsewhere, Hadjar also explained his excitement to share the grid with Fernando Alonso, who is currently driving for Aston Martin following stints with Renault, Alpine, McLaren and Ferrari. He added: "It's weird because he was in F1 when I wasn't even born. "When he was at Ferrari, I was a big fan. It's very strange, but at the same time, I give everything I have against him when I meet him on the track. "I've been against him in Jeddah, I think. It's great to fight people like that, it's amazing." ‌ Yet, when it comes to his early influences, the French-Algerian racer said that his style was more shaped by Hamilton than 2005 and 2006 champion Alonso. He added: "Growing up, I was more of a fan of Hamilton's driving style. "His race management on Saturday when he was in Mercedes. I wasn't watching the Grand Prix, I was just putting on Lewis' onboard camera and watching the race. I learned a lot from him." ‌ It's been a standout season so far for Hadjar, who was bumped up to Racing Bulls after Liam Lawson joined forces with Max Verstappen at the main Red Bull team. Despite a rocky start at the Australian GP back in March, the young driver has shown considerable potential throughout the season. Hadjar has managed to finish just one spot behind Hamilton in Japan, Monaco and Spain this year and has outperformed Alonso in every race except the Australian GP - an impressive feat given his relative inexperience compared to the seasoned pros. Currently sitting ninth in the F1 standings, fans are keen to see just how far up the ladder Hadjar can climb this season. His next hurdle is the Canadian GP at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve next weekend, as we approach the mid-point of the season.
