Bob Marley Charts A Brand New Top 10 Album

Bob Marley almost never strays from the top spot on Billboard's Reggae Albums chart. Along with his backing band, the Wailers, the superstar's Legend compilation has ruled for 286 of the 287 frames it has spent on the tally. It's not unusual for the iconic musician to claim more than one spot on the short roster, either.
What is fairly unusual, however, is for Marley to score a new appearance on the Reggae Albums list, as he's been gone for decades – but that's exactly what he manages this time around.
Uprising Debuts Inside the Top 10
Uprising, credited to both Marley and the Wailers, debuts at No. 9 on this week's Reggae Albums chart. It's the only new arrival this time around. Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection by Shaggy reenters the list in the runner-up spot, hitting its all-time peak as it does.
Bob Marley's Final Album
Uprising was the final full-length released during Marley's lifetime. The collection dropped in June 1980, and although fans have been familiar with it for decades, it has only now performed well enough to appear on the Reggae Albums ranking.
The project was recently reissued to celebrate its forty-fifth anniversary, pressed on a limited-edition vinyl filled with what was described as 'liquid sunshine.' The collectible nature of that pressing is likely largely responsible for Uprising finally landing on the Reggae Albums tally.
Bob Marley Claims Three Spots on the Reggae Chart
Marley fills three spaces on the 10-spot Reggae Albums chart this week. In addition to Uprising, Legend is once again ruling, while Exodus dips from No. 9 to No. 10.
Among those three titles, only Legend appears on any other Billboard rankings at the moment. This week, it falls on both the Top Album Sales ranking and the Billboard 200, slipping to Nos. 40 and 65, respectively.
Legend Nears 900 Weeks on the Billboard 200
While Legend doesn't appear anywhere near the top 10 on those other lists, as it does on the reggae-only tally, it has spent many hundreds of weeks on both Billboard's list of the bestselling titles in the country and the all-encompassing ranking of the most consumed albums. The compilation — one of the most successful of all time in America — will likely reach 900 weeks on the Billboard 200 in a little over a month. When it does, it will become one of only two titles to make it to that milestone.

'This shouldn't have happened': Bishop who interrupted church choir in dressing gown apologises

A bishop who interrupted a church concert in his dressing gown - and told singers to "leave his house" - has formally apologised to the choir. Jonathan Baker was filmed standing barefoot at a microphone as he criticised performers for making a "terrible racket" at St Andrew's Church in central London. Addressing the City Academy Voices choir directly, the bishop of Fulham said: "I write to apologise for the distress and offence I caused in bringing the concert to a premature end. "This should not have happened … I also apologise for remarks which were made in haste, and which have understandably caused hurt and distress." Mr Baker had demanded for the performance to stop because it was 10pm - and says he didn't realise the choir had booked the church until 11pm. In the statement obtained by Sky News, he added: "I have lived here on site at St Andrew's for 10 years, for much of which City Academy has rehearsed and performed here. "You have been, and continue to be, welcome - and I hope that you will be able to continue the relationship with us. "I can give you every assurance that the events of Friday evening will not recur, and I apologise again to performers (especially those unable to perform at the end of the evening) and the audience alike." The choir was performing to a 300-strong audience in Holborn when the lights were suddenly turned off, with Mr Baker declaring the concert was "over". A church employee then asked the crowd to leave quietly and for the musicians to step down from the stage, attracting boos from the audience. The choir went on to perform one last song, an A cappella version of ABBA's Dancing Queen, before bringing their show to a close. Read more from Sky News: One member of the audience, who was attending with his 10-year-old daughter, told Sky News he initially thought the interruption was a staged joke. Benedict Collins had told Sky News: "This work deserves respect, not to be disparaged as a 'terrible racket'. The people here had put their heart and soul into it. "The bishop cut them off in midstream, preventing soloists who had worked their hardest from singing - and preventing the audience, which included people of all ages, from enjoying it to the end." The choir told Sky News it was "upsetting" that they were unable to finish their show as planned, but "hold no hard feelings and wish the bishop well". A spokesperson added: "If anyone is thinking of joining one of our choirs, the City Academy Voices rehearse on Mondays in central London. Dressing gowns optional."

Tom Holland Plays Coy About James Bond Casting Rumors: 'There's Speculation'

If there's any truth to rumors that Tom Holland is in the running to play James Bond, he's keeping it top-secret for now. As the BAFTA winner returns to one major franchise with Friday's Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser, he recently commented on 'speculation' that he's up for the coveted part in the Denis Villeneuve-helmed update of the franchise. We'll keep it to a minimum for now,' he said in a video on Gordon Ramsay's YouTube. 'We'll get there one day.' Holland added, 'Every young British actor, it's the pinnacle of working in our industry. I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive. I could never have dreamed to have the career that I've had.' Daniel Craig played the iconic role in Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015) and No Time to Die (2021). Following previous Bond stars Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan, Craig's successor has not yet been chosen. In June, Amazon MGM Studios officially tapped Villeneuve to direct the next installment, and this week, Steven Knight was announced to write the film amid the studio's new 007 partnership with returning producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. Tanya Lapointe will executive produce. After announcing that Amy Pascal and David Heyman will produce the next film in the franchise, Amazon MGM's Courtenay Valenti and Sue Kroll said at CinemaCon in April that the pair of 'filmmaking legends' is currently in London working on the film. 'We are committed to honoring the legacy of this iconic character, while bringing a fresh, exhilarating new chapter to audiences around the world alongside Amy and David,' said Valenti, head of Film, Streaming and Theatrical. 'They are both in London getting started and couldn't be here tonight, but we wanted to thank them for what we know will be an incredible partnership. Thank you, Amy and David!' Dua Lipa made a citizen of Kosovo

Dua Lipa has been awarded Kosovo citizenship. The Levitating singer was born in London to Kosovar Albanian parents and was serenaded by a children's choir as she received the honour from Kosovar president Vjosa Osmani on Thursday (31.07.25). The politician posted on social media platform X: "Welcome back home, Dua. "Dua and Kosovo have always been inseparable. From the world's biggest stages to the hearts of millions, she's carried our story with strength, pride and grace. She's pushed boundaries, made history, and reminded the world that greatness begins with knowing who you are and where you come from." The 29-year-old pop star previously had Albanian citizenship granted in 2022 - with the country's president Bajram Begaj describing her as a "simple girl" who has given "great pride" to the nation. He said at the ceremony: "It is a special pleasure to welcome the great artist Dua Lipa today. I say great artist, but she is also a simple girl, who has given the greatest pride to us, Albania, Kosovo and wherever there are Albanians in the world. Albanian youth is an example and a source of inspiration for you and you have shown that dreams can be achieved by working harder. Tomorrow we celebrate the 110th anniversary of the declaration of independence and today the joint meeting of the Assembly of Albania and the Assembly of Kosovo took place. "Although art is not related to politics, it brings all people together and with your art, you have brought us together in this jubilee year! On this occasion, I am pleased to grant you Albanian citizenship." Meanwhile, Dua confirmed in June that she and her actor partner Callum Turner were engaged after months of speculation following an Instagram post last Christmas that featured her with a diamond ring on her wedding finger. The Houdini hitmaker told Britain's Vogue magazine: "Yeah, we're engaged. It's very exciting." Of her ring, Dua added: "I'm obsessed with it. It's so me. It's nice to know the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well." The couple - who started dating in January 2024 - are yet to set a wedding date because of their hectic work schedules. Dua said: "I want to finish my tour, Callum's shooting, so we're just enjoying this period. "I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. "All of a sudden I'm like: 'Oh, what would I wear?'"
