Porn video played during education department's online meeting in UP, complaint filed

An online public meeting of the education department in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj was disrupted after a pornographic video was played and objectionable remarks were made by an unidentified participant, PTI reported on Monday, citing officials. According to officials, the meeting was meant to facilitate direct communication between the public and the DM on school-related issues.(Image for representation)
The incident took place on August 7 during an e-Chaupal session conducted via Zoom.
The meeting was chaired by the district magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma, the basic education officer, block education officers, headmasters, government teachers and members of the public.
According to officials, the meeting was meant to facilitate direct communication between the public and the DM on school-related issues.

However, during the meeting, a participant using the name 'Jason Junior' shared his screen and played a pornographic video, following which officials exited the session.
The officials also added that another participant, identified as 'Arjun,' allegedly made objectionable remarks during the meeting, without elaborating further, according to PTI.

A complaint has also been filed against two unidentified persons at Kotwali police station on August 9 on the of Basic Education Officer Riddhi Pandey, and Block Education Officer (Farenda) Sudama Prasad.
Sadar Kotwali SHO Satyendra Rai said the matter is being probed with the help of the cyber police. Rai also said that the police is using technical means to identify the culprits.
'The accused are being identified through technical means and action will be taken soon,' he said, according to PTI.

Security forces have, in a joint operation, destroyed a Maoist camp in a dense hilly area of Gariaband district and recovered arms, ammunition, cash, and other materials, the police said on Monday. (PTI) The action was carried out by a joint team of Gariaband Police, Dhamtari Police, CRPF and CoBRA commandoes in the jungles near village Bade Gobra under Manepur police station limits. The forces were on a routine patrol when they came across a Maoist camp, following which armed ultras opened fire on the advancing security forces. The forces retaliated, and the Maoists fled the site leaving behind a large cache of weapons and other belongings, a senior officer said. 'The security personnel have recovered four country-made rifles, four pistols, a hand grenade, a belt-fed machine gun, 17 live rounds of 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm calibre, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 50 electronic detonators, and an INSAS magazine, among other ammunition,' Amresh Mishra, Raipur range Inspector General of Police, said. They also seized ₹16.5 lakh in cash, a laptop, radio sets, Maoist uniforms, solar equipment, and a large quantity of literature and other materials. Police said the camp has been demolished and further search operations are underway in the Manepur area.

Hyderabad, Aug 18 (PTI) Five people were electrocuted and four others injured when a chariot came in contact with overhead electric wires during a procession organised as part of Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations, police said on Monday. The incident occurred at around 1.30 AM on Monday in Ramanthapur when the chariot with Lord Krishna's idol was being taken out in a procession, they said. The vehicle, decorated as a chariot, ran out of fuel, and nine people were pushing it. At that time, a snapped cable wire fell on the electric wires, which in turn touched the brass frame fitted around the deity on the vehicle, due to which five people were electrocuted, a senior police official told PTI, based on preliminary investigation. Thane, Aug 18 (PTI) Police have registered a case against a man from Thane in Maharashtra for allegedly posing as a travel agent and cheating a person of Rs 3.77 lakh under the pretext of facilitating international flight tickets, an official said on Monday. According to the 32-year-old complainant, who hails from Silchar in Rajasthan, got in touch with the accused through an acquaintance. The accused lured the complainant to transfer Rs 3,77,916 through UPI for tickets to send his two relatives abroad for jobs through the flight of an international airline, the official from Mira Road police station said.
