Okolie names two-man shortlist for his next fight after Usyk-Dubois undercard win
The former cruiserweight and bridgerweight champion claimed a lopsided points win over Kevin Lerena on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk 's heavyweight clash with Daniel Dubois at Wembley.
He is currently No 1 in the WBC's heavyweight rankings and is one of a number of fighters hoping for a shot at Usyk in the near future.
But Okolie has his sights set on two other contenders before taking on the heavyweight king.
Asked who he would ideally like to face next, Okolie told Sky Sports: 'It would be [Agit] Kabayel. He's the only person who's higher ranked than me with the WBC.'
Kabayel is unbeaten and currently holds the WBC interim belt after knocking out Zhilei Zhang in his last fight.
Okolie is also eyeing a domestic dust-up with Fabio Wardley. His fellow Brit came from behind to stop Justis Huni last month, and Okolie believes the two knockout artists would produce an exciting fight.
'Aside from [Kabayel], it would probably be Fabio Wardley. The reason why that one's interesting is because he's a British fighter, who's [19-0-1 with 18 KOs].
'He's explosive, and it's a fight where I have to be at my absolute best to win. I like that one.'
Okolie suffered a torn bicep in the early stages of his fight with Lerena, but still did enough to get his hand raised as he maintained his perfect record at heavyweight.
He will now need time to recover from his arm injury, yet he's already looking ahead to future fights in boxing's blue-riband division.
Okolie has only lost one of his 23 professional fights when he was beaten by Chris Billam-Smith in 2023.
The 2016 Olympian has since bounced back to secure three straight wins.

David James hopes Alexander Isak can help Liverpool win multiple trophies
Former goalkeeper David James believes Liverpool need striker Alexander Isak to be able to win trophies at home and in Europe. The ex-England international admits the forward may not be 'the most viable signing' due to Newcastle's £150million price tag, but the Reds' long-term interest in the Sweden international shows how valuable they think he could be to them. Extricating Isak from St James' Park will be far from straightforward, even though the player has not joined his team-mates for their pre-season tour of South Korea and is privately telling people he wants to move to Anfield. However, James said Liverpool will have done their homework and know exactly what difference he can make to a team which won the Premier League in head coach Arne Slot's first season, but came up disappointing short in the Champions League. 'Arne is in the most wonderful position to be able to have to defend titles,' James told the PA news agency after surprising a St Helens walking football team as part of an initiative run by Carlsberg. 'Liverpool will give it the best they can, but there is a bigger carrot of 'can you be dominant in Europe?'. 'Bringing in someone like Isak is not the most viable signing, but when you want to be achieving on multiple levels then you are going to need that squad. 'If Isak comes in – if – then it will be because Liverpool will feel they need him rather than having the money just to get someone. 'What is interesting here is when you look at (Mohamed) Salah last season, he scored the goals but his assist numbers were what got me. 'How much influence he has on players to be better than the numbers they were recording last season will be exciting – and that includes Isak if it goes through. 'These players are coming into an environment where they are at least expected to improve and as Liverpool are currently Premier League champions then improvement would be adding another trophy hopefully.' Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group have undertaken an unprecedented spending spree this summer with almost £300m bringing in club-record signing Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez. All are under the age of 24 and have helped reduce the age profile of the squad while also being a long-term investment. While Isak would be the summer's marquee signing, there are concerns Liverpool could be leaving themselves short at centre-back with Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez – who returned home from the Far East to have treatment on an injury – the only senior players for that position. They have been linked with Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi, who has a year left on his contract, but currently have not made any move. James, however, is not too concerned at present. 'You'd think their offence will always be better than the opposition's defence and they will be able to out-score other teams except for the occasional game,' he added. 'The idea Liverpool have to have the best defence would be wonderful, but I don't think they have to rush into buying someone. It might be something that happens in January. 'The end of the Champions League campaign is naturally when you come up against better teams and your defensive issues can be called into question. 'I imagine they will have so much success anyway they won't feel they have to desperately go out and buy someone and looking at the signings there doesn't appear to be any desperation so far.' :: David James partnered with Carlsberg to surprise members of the St Helen's Walking football team, forming part of the brewer's initiative to give more people access to the more of the best.

Manchester United striker hunt down to Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko
Manchester United are weighing up whether to test Aston Villa's resolve over Ollie Watkins or potentially challenge Newcastle for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. United are thought to have narrowed their search for a striker down to Watkins or Sesko even though there would be significant obstacles in trying to land either player. Ruben Amorim is keen to further bolster his attack by adding a centre-forward following the signings of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha for £133.5m after United scored just 44 goals in the Premier League last season. United have been busy exploring the costs involved in doing a deal for Watkins or Sesko and are believed to be carefully considering their options before deciding their next move. Although United have got Marcus Rashford's salary off the wage bill for a season after loaning the England striker to Barcelona, they need to raise funds to reinvest and ease the purse strings. Wingers Alejandro Garnacho and Antony remain two of their most saleable assets. Villa have already issued a hands off warning to United about Watkins, for whom they rejected a substantial bid from Arsenal in January, raising the possibility of a potentially difficult negotiation should they opt to advance their interest. Watkins has the benefit of being Premier League proven, which was a significant part of United's thinking in pursuing Cunha and Mbeumo, but at 29 the England striker would have no resale value. Sesko, 22, would prove a longer-term option and has been on United's radar for a number of years but is still unproven at the highest level. Leipzig are also thought to be demanding at least £70m for the Slovenia striker, who is attracting serious interest from Newcastle. Arsenal had also considered Sesko before pursuing a deal for Viktor Gyokeres instead. Any move for Sesko would place even greater pressure on United to sell. Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia are also surplus to requirements while it remains to be seen if United would accept a bid for Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund, whose preference is to stay at Old Trafford. Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are among the clubs monitoring Sancho's situation although there are no guarantees either side will pursue a deal for the England forward, who has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Old Trafford. United are thought to want £18-20m for Sancho given they have already received a £5m penalty payment from Chelsea for backing out of a deal to sign the 25-year-old permanently. Collyer open to loan move Toby Collyer is open to going out on loan from Manchester United this season as the defensive midfielder targets more playing time. The 21-year-old, who was signed from Brighton in 2022, made 13 appearances for United last season. But with competition for places expected to be first at Old Trafford this season, Collyer has revealed how he will sit down with manager Ruben Amorim and director of football Jason Wilcox to discuss the best option for him. 'My feeling at this moment is I want to play,' he said. 'First and foremost, I want to be here and play as many games for Man United as possible. 'I'll sit down with the manager and higher-ups and see what's the best solution, the best way for me to develop, whether it's stay here or go on loan. 'The end goal for me is to play as many minutes as possible here, hopefully starting every week. So yeah, I'll sit down with them and see what's the best solution for that. I'll just see how the next few weeks go and then we'll go over those conversations.' MetLife pitch torn up after one day The pitch at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on which United played West Ham in the Premier League Summer Series on Sunday is due to be taken to a local farm, where it will be used to make compost soil. The pitch had been laid purely for the United-West Ham game and the Bournemouth-Everton match which preceded it. The surface used at the stadium during the Club World Cup had already been removed because of a series of concerts at the venue by the country music star Zach Bryan the previous weekend while the MetLife is due to host the WWE SummerSlam wrestling this Saturday and Sunday. Commercial duties cut as Maguire leads Lionesses support It has been commonplace on pre-season tours for United's players to usually do three sponsor activations but they are only doing two on this tour in the US as Amorim maximises his time with his squad. After a recovery session on Sunday morning following the West Ham match, they had the rest of the day off. Captain Bruno Fernandes led a small group to the baseball at Rate Field where the Chicago White Sox faced city rivals the Chicago Cubs. Others went to the beach while a number of United's players, including Harry Maguire, opted to watch England's women's team beat Spain to retain the European Championships. Fernandes (and Wes Brown) throw first pitch at baseball match On the subject of baseball, Fernandes threw the ceremonial first pitch at the White Sox-Cubs game. Former United defender Wes Brown had been scheduled to throw the pitch but when the White Sox heard Fernandes was coming to the game they asked if he would like to do the honours. However, Brown did still get his moment in the spotlight with the 2008 Champions League winner throwing the first pitch at the White Sox's game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night. Insiders said he had been busy putting in some practice for the moment, too. Rio returns Expect Rio Ferdinand to become a more familiar face around United now the club's former defender has stepped away from his role with broadcaster TNT Sports. As part of the club's summer tour arrangements, Ferdinand is currently on a road trip across the US with Wayne Rooney in an Ineos Grenadier, the off-road utility vehicle brand owned by United co-owner Sir Jim say Ferdinand is not an official United ambassador but he has been figuring heavily on their social channels and busy publicising the club. He also worked as a pundit for US broadcaster NBC for their coverage of United's 2-1 win over West Ham.
