Pak hackers try to breach Indian websites, wave of cyber attack attempts foiled
Pakistan-sponsored hacker groups launched several unsuccessful attempts to breach Indian websites on Thursday, in a continued wave of cyber offensives. These hacking attempts were swiftly detected and neutralised by Indian cybersecurity agencies.In one of the incidents, hacker groups including 'Cyber Group HOAX1337' and 'National Cyber Crew' targeted the websites of Army Public Schools in Jammu, attempting to deface them with messages mocking the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack.advertisementA separate cyberattack defaced a website providing healthcare services for ex-servicemen, while websites of the Army Institute of Hotel Management and Indian Air Force veterans were also among those targeted.
Beyond Army-linked domains, Pakistan-based hackers have repeatedly attempted to infiltrate websites connected to children, elderly veterans, and civilians, according to officials.Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Cyber Department has recorded over 10 lakh cyberattacks on Indian systems by hacking groups from multiple countries, including Pakistan, following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, news agency PTI reported.According to a senior police official, Maharashtra Cyber, the state police's cybercrime detection wing, has observed a significant surge in digital attacks since the Kashmir terror strike.Analysts believe these cyber offensives are part of a deliberate campaign aimed at escalating tensions in the digital space. They are seen as elements of Pakistan's broader hybrid warfare strategy, which has long involved the use of terrorism and information warfare against India.In addition to Pakistan, cyberattacks have also originated from the Middle East, Indonesia, and Morocco. The CJI highlighted the irreplaceable value of discretion, empathy, and nuanced judicial interpretation. While acknowledging the transformative potential of technological advancements, he delineated clear boundaries for their application within the judiciary. 'Though the judiciary welcomes innovations like automated cause lists, digital kiosks, and virtual assistants," he stated, 'it must ensure that human oversight, ethical guidelines, and robust training are integral to their implementation." This perspective reflects a cautious yet progressive stance. The Indian judiciary has indeed embraced various technological advancements to enhance efficiency and accessibility. Automated cause lists streamline case management, digital kiosks improve public access to information, and virtual assistants aid in administrative tasks. Can't club terror-backers with victims: EAM Jaishankar to UK's Lammy
NEW DELHI: While thanking his visiting UK counterpart David Lammy for the strong condemnation of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, external affairs minister S Jaishankar told him India will never countenance perpetrators of evil being put at par with its victims. India follows a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism and expects its partners to understand it, Jaishankar told Lammy who visited Pakistan last month welcoming "sustained ceasefire between Pakistan and India, both important partners to the UK". Lammy became the first UK foreign secretary to visit Pakistan since 2021. India doesn't use the word ceasefire and has strongly denied that the US or any other country had a role to play in the cessation of military hostilities between India and Pakistan last month. Lammy also called on PM Narendra Modi and strongly condemned the Pahalgam attack, expressing support for India's fight against cross border terrorism. Modi underscored the need for a decisive international action against terrorism and those who support it, according to an Indian readout. He later said in a post on X that he valued UK's support for India's fight against cross-border terrorism.
