Ford is recalling nearly 200,000 vehicles after a locking mechanism could make it hard for backseat passengers to escape in the case of an emergency, according to The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"In the event of a low battery charge, the electronic door latches may remain locked once the driver or front passenger exits and shuts the door, possibly trapping someone who is unable to use the inside door release handles, such as a child in the back seat," the NHTSA stated.
The recall, which is under National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Safety Issue ID 25V404000, includes certain 2021-2025 Mustang Mach E vehicles. There are potentially 197,432 affected vehicles.

Certain 2021-2025 Mustang Mach E are being recalled by Ford.
When the car has a low battery charge, it could trap people in the backseat inside the vehicle "as door latches may remain locked once the driver or front passenger exits and shuts the door."
"The inability to enter or exit the vehicle in an emergency increases the risk of injury," Ford said.
Owners of the recalled vehicles should take their cars back to the dealerships.
Dealerships have been instructed to update the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the Secondary On-Board Diagnostic Control Module C (SOBDMC) software, according to Ford's recall notice.

There, you can the vehicle's license plate, VIN number, or year, make and model to search for recalls associated with the car.

Honda Recalls 184K Pilot SUVs for Potentially Loose Brake Pedals

Honda is recalling 184,253 Pilots (2023–2025 models) due to an issue where the brake pedal can come loose. The recall also affects two Acura models, the 2021–2025 TLX sedan (7332 models) and the 2023–2025 MDX SUV (67,448 models). Owners will be notified by mail and directed to take their vehicle to an Acura or Honda dealer to replace the brake-pedal assembly, if necessary. The Honda Pilot is involved in a sizable recall that affects 2023 to 2025 models. The issue stems from a brake-pedal pivot pin that wasn't properly staked during the production process. This could cause the brake pedal to become loose and possibly make slowing or stopping more difficult. Honda filed a recall report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) earlier this month on June 12. The report states that 184,253 Pilots are affected by the recall, which also extends to two Acura models, specifically 7332 TLX sedans (2021 to 2025 models) and 67,448 MDX SUVs (2023 to 2025 models). Honda says drivers may notice there's an issue if the brake malfunction warning light appears, if the brake pedal doesn't feel normal, or if the taillights are illuminated when the brake isn't being applied. Acura Honda detailed the cause of the issue in its report to NHTSA, explaining that the unstaked pivot pin occurred ahead of moving production from its factory in the United States to one in Mexico. The U.S. site received increased staff to build more parts to help prevent disrupting the supply chain, but Honda says they weren't properly trained, which led to the staking process being missed. Plus, a system that was designed to catch the mistake malfunctioned, so the issue went unnoticed. Owners of vehicles involved in the recall will be notified by mail; Honda plans to notify all registered owners by July 28, 2025. They will be instructed to take their Pilot, MDX, or TLX to a Honda or Acura dealer where the brake-pedal assembly will be inspected and replaced, if necessary.
