Tech billionaire Elon Musk stepped up his attacks on President Donald Trump's signature bill on Wednesday with a barrage of posts on X slamming the megabill, saying in one that no one "should be able to stomach it". He instructed his more than 200 million followers to call members of Congress to "KILL the BILL." Musk Wednesday alone has already posted or helped amplify posts on X criticizing the bill more than 25 times. "Mammoth spending bills are bankrupting America! ENOUGH," Musk wrote in one post.In another, Musk was more forceful, writing, "Call your Senator, Call your Congressman, Bankrupting America is NOT ok! KILL the BILL." Musk has said he is stepping away from politics to focus on his businesses. Anthony Scaramucci , founder and CEO of SkyBridge Capital, has suggested Democrats could gain Elon Musk's support by taking a strategic approach: reminding him that a large portion of his customers likely identify as Democrats, and showing openness to some of his ideas, reported Newsweek.Speaking on his podcast The Rest is Politics US, Scaramucci, said it was important to "woo" Musk back after a "cooling off period." Scaramucci was fired by Donald Trump just 10 days into the job as his White House communications director in 2017.He added that Democrats could move to the centre and forgo more left-wing policies to "bring Elon Musk back into the fold as a prodigal son."However, he said it was unlikely Democrats would do so. It would be a coup for Democrats if they could court the influence of the world's richest man once more. Elon Musk, the world's richest private individual, contributed $288 million to Donald Trump's 2024 election campaign, according to public records.However, he has since distanced himself from the Trump administration, voicing opposition to the controversial spending proposal dubbed the 'big, beautiful bill,' and has chosen to reduce his political engagement to concentrate more on his business ventures.On the podcast, Scaramucci outlined the steps he would take to "woo" Musk. He said: "If I were a Democrat I'd be trying to woo him back. I would tell him 'look your customers are primarily Democrats, let's give a cooling off period, come back into the party and help us and lets acknowledge some of the things that you are right about'"."The Democrats are in sore need of a [former president Bill] Clinton-like experience," he continued. On Tuesday, he described it as a "disgusting abomination", in a widening rift between the two.Musk left the administration abruptly last week after 129 days working to cut costs with his team, known as Doge. Siddaramaiah sacks political secretary over Bengaluru stampede: Who is K Govindaraju?

In the last two decades, he has always occupied important positions whenever the Congress is at the helm of affairs. He has been president of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Asia, the Basketball Federation of India, and the Karnataka Olympic Association. Govindaraju has denied all the allegations and told the media on Friday that he was not involved with the RCB and 'never contacted by the KSCA'. Claiming that he was disturbed by the sequence of events, he told The Indian Express, 'It has happened over a minor issue and nothing big. I will speak to you next week.' Hailing from a family of bureaucrats from Kolar, sources said Govindaraju had access to the corridors of power as his elder brother is an IAS officer promoted from the state services. A senior Congress leader credited Govindaraju's 'entreprising behaviour and never-say-no attitude' for his rise in the echelons of power. 'He first came into contact with state Minister K J George and then with (former CM) S M Krishna. He is seen as a man who caters to the needs of powerful politicians,' a leader said. Govindaraju also had a stint in electoral politics when he made his Assembly poll debut from the Shivajinagar seat in 1999. But he lost the election. He continued to remain a part of the state power circles and was elected MLC in 2012. He also served as Siddaramaiah's parliamentary secretary between 2015 and 2018. Seen in Congress circles as the party's 'fundraiser', Govindaraju found himself in the centre of a controversy in 2017 after Income Tax officials recovered a diary from him with details of payments worth Rs 600 crore allegedly made to senior Congress leaders.

Ludhiana court grants interim bail to Bharat Bhushan Ashu in ₹2,400 crore land misuse case
A day after the Punjab vigilance bureau issued summons to former minister and Congress candidate for the Ludhiana West byelection, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, in a ₹2,400 crore land misuse case, a local court granted him interim bail on Friday. The court also directed Ashu to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. Ashu's counsel, advocate Vijay Mahendru, confirmed that additional sessions judge Jaspinder Singh granted interim relief to the Congress leader, instructing him to join the probe whenever summoned by the investigating officer. The matter is scheduled for next hearing on June 11. In its order, the court observed that Ashu was not initially named in the FIR and was only added later. The judge noted, 'The case of the prosecution is based on documentary evidence. The applicant is directed to join the investigation as and when called by the investigating officer. In the event of his arrest, he shall be released on interim bail by the investigating officer.' Ashu, in his plea, contended that the case was politically motivated and timed to disrupt his election campaign. He maintained that his implication was baseless and intended to malign his image ahead of the crucial by-election.
