Kim Kardashian's Paris robbers found guilty after holding star at gunpoint

Daily Record23-05-2025

The men who held Kim Kardashian at gunpoint during her Paris robbery have been found guilty following a trial.
Kim Kardashian's armed robbers have been found guilty after they held the reality star at gunpoint.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, who recently became eligible to take the bar in order to become an attorney, came face to face with the men who burst into her Paris hotel room in October 2016, reports the Mirror.

Ten people went on trial in the French capital for their involvement in the robbery and faced charges including armed robbery and kidnapping in an organised gang. During the terrifying incident, Kim, who was in Paris for Fashion Week, was tied up and held at gunpoint by the men.

A six-member jury, led by three judges, came to a verdict today in Paris. They found the ringleader and seven others guilty, with two of the 10 defendants acquitted.
While testifying, Kim, 44, bravely told the court she feared being raped. "I was certain that was the moment that he was going to rape me, I absolutely did think I was going to die," she said.
Before the jury retired today, Aomar Aït Khedache, 70, who personally held Kim at gunpoint, begged the star for forgiveness. "I can't find the words to say how sorry I am. I offer a thousand apologies," he wrote on a piece of paper with his claims being displayed on a screen inside the Voltaire Chamber of the court.
Prosecutor General Anne-Dominique Merville told the court that Aït Khedache should spend the next ten years of his life in prison. She said he was "now of a certain age and showed no risk of reoffending" but should "pay for his crimes."

Ms Merville said Aït Khedache, who admitted taking part in the heist after his DNA was found at the scene, "now downplays the violence involved." Kim lost $10million worth of jewellery during the raid, including her $4million engagement ring from her ex-husband, Kanye 'Ye' West, which has not been recovered.
While on trial, Aït Khedache denied being the mastermind behind the heisst, claiming that there was a mysterious "X or Ben," who should bare the responsibility. But Merville stated there was sufficient proof to suggest that he "gave the orders" before heading to Antwerp, Belgium, to sell the items.
Yunice Abbas, 72, was also told he could face a ten-year jail sentence and has been the only other defendant to offer a guilty plea. While on remand, he wrote a book, I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian, which was given as a gift to the prosecutors.

Speaking to the court, he said: "Once again, I have nothing but regrets to offer you, I'm sorry for what I did." Didier Dubreucq, 69, who was allegedly the second robber to enter Kardashian's residence in the city, along with Aït Khedache, who is also known as "Old Omar".
Lesser sentences were requested for other members of the gang who, like Dubreucq, had all denied any wrongdoing. The entire gang were allowed to speak to the court for the final time before the jury retired on Friday. Meanwhile, Cathy Glotin, 78, who has been branded Aït Khedache's mistress, had continued to deny any wrongdoing.

She told the court: "I had nothing to do with this case, and look forward to being reunited with my family." But it was heard that she offered "secretarial services" to the gang, which included providing burner phones.
The gang could have been given 30-year sentences, but due to their ages and poor health, they were offered lesser sentences. The majority of the defendants were jailed in January 2017, just three months after the robbery. They were subsequently released on bail.

In this Thursday's Mirror Daily Digest, we've pulled together the biggest stories of the day from Romeo Beckham's split from his girlfriend, to even more Winter Fuel Payments updates Welcome to the Mirror's Daily Digest, where we pull together all the best stories of the day from our News, Showbiz, Sport teams and more. This Thursday, we're taking a look at the eligibility of free school meals getting extended, to the search for missing Brit Jordan Johnson-Doyle. Ryanair: Multiple people injured on 'dangerous flight' after plane hits 'supercell' Early this morning, our World News team shared reports of a Ryanair pilot being forced into an emergency landing due to dangerous weather. ‌ Nine people - including a two-year-old child and a crew member - were injured last night after a Ryanair flight was forced to make an emergency landing. The plane flew into a severe thunderstorm leaving passengers terrified. The pilot announced he was aborting the flight and immediately landing at the nearest airport. One passenger described the scenes as 'chaotic and dangerous'. ‌ The Ryanair jet had 185 people on board when it was hit by extreme turbulence over southern Germany. It was flying from the German capital Berlin to the Italian city Milan when the pilot made emergency landing at Memmingen Airport in Bavaria. A spokesman for the German authorities said that nine people were injured, including one crew member and a two-year-old child. Our World News team has been following the case of missing Brit Jordan Johnson-Doyle since the end of last month, and today reported that his body had been found in a lift shaft in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur. Jordan Johnson-Doyle, 25, vanished on May 27 after he was last seen at a bar in a suburb of the country's capital. His disappearance sparked a massive search in a bid to find him but, tragically, he has now been found dead in a lift shaft at the ground floor of a construction site. ‌ A post-mortem found the cause of death was a "chest injury sustained from a fall from height," according to police chief Rusdi Mohd Isa. He added: "No criminal elements were found at the scene and the case has been classified as a sudden death report." ‌ Free school meal change as thousands to save up to £500 - check what it means for your area Our Politics team, who have long been championing free school meals for children, have reported that more than half a million children will become eligible for free school meals from next year after an expansion of eligibility rules. Keir Starmer has unveiled plans to extend the lifeline benefit to all kids in families who get Universal Credit (UC) in England, in a move that could save parents up to £500 a year. ‌ Currently, all children in England can get free school meals until the end of Year 2 but after that they only qualify if their family earns less than £7,400 a year after benefits. In a huge expansion, from September 2026, all children in UC households will be able to get a free lunch. A large proportion of kids on UC already receive free school meals as their household's income falls below the £7,400 threshold point. But some 500,000 more kids will now be eligible, according to the Government's estimates. ‌ Romeo Beckham splits from Kim Turnbull after relationship dragged into family drama Last night, our Showbiz team reported that Romeo Beckham has split from his partner Kim Turnbull, having had their relationshup dragged into the rift within the Beckham family in recent months. It's now been revealed that Romeo, 22, and Kim, 24, have separated after seven months together. It's said that their relationship "fizzled out" three weeks after his father David Beckham 's 50th birthday, which was at the start of last month. ‌ The special occasion fuelled rumours of a family feud as David's eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, were thought to have been absent from celebrations. Romeo's relationship with Kim was attributed as a factor in the alleged rift at one point, though more recently other parties have been blamed instead amid ongoing speculation. ‌ As part of the ongoing Winter Fuel Allowance saga, our Money team earlier shared a message from Money Supermarket guru Martin Lewis, after Chancellor Rachel Reeves confirmed yesterday that Winter Fuel Payments will be extended to more pensioners this winter. Speaking at an event in Rochdale, Greater Manchester yesterday, Reeves told reporters that "more people will get Winter Fuel Payment this winter", adding that further details will be announced "as soon as we possibly can". She said: "People should be in no doubt that the means test will increase and more people will get Winter Fuel Payment this winter."

Pheobe Bishop's flatmates charged with missing teen's murder

Pheobe, 17, vanished 21 days ago. The flatmates of missing Pheobe Bishop have been charged with her murder. Cops confirmed they have arrested and charged James Wood and Tanika Bromley, who are a couple, each with murder and two counts each of interfering with a corpse. The pair were arrested in Bundaberg in Australia on Thursday. Pheobe, 17, vanished 21 days ago. She had been living with the couple at the time of her disappearance. While the investigation is ongoing, the Mirror reports that Queensland Police are treating her disappearance as murder. However, the alarm was raised when Pheobe failed to board the flight. Detectives have suggested Wood and Bromley drove Pheobe for 40 minutes to Bundaberg Airport. However, new CCTV footage has emerged in her case. A spokesperson for Queensland Police said: 'Detectives have charged a 34-year-old man and 33-year-old woman with murder in relation to the disappearance of 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop. 'Pheobe has not been seen or heard from since May 15. The remains of Pheobe Bishop have not been located to date.' Police continue to appeal for dash cam or CCTV footage of Ms Bromley's grey Hyundai ix35, which the trio were travelling. They believe it was a key component of the investigation into the Pheobe's disappearance. So far, CCTV has shown a car - similar to the one Pheobe had been travelling in before she vanished - driving through Gin Gin at 10.30am the day she was last seen. The journey was made two hours after the teen was thought to have been dropped off at the airport. Get all the big headlines, pictures, analysis, opinion and video on the stories that matter to you. Sex assault horror across Paris after PSG Champions League win: Shocking footage shows huge mob surround terrified women's car and smash window as other victims describe sexual violence

Violent riots gripped the French capital on Saturday night after Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League win - with horrifying videos and testimony revealing how women were targeted by thuggish football fans. Shocking video has shown how a huge mob attacked a pair of young women, screaming at them, climbing on their car and smashing its windows in as they tried to drive through the city. The terrified women are seen cowering as the hordes of men intimidated them. Video of the onslaught cuts out shortly after a window is smashed in, making it unclear what happened next. Some 500 people were arrested, two people died and almost 200 were injured during the riots, according to France's interior ministry. Shops were vandalised and looted, cars and motorbikes set on fire and people were stabbed during the Paris riots, with violence also seen elsewhere in France. Predominantly male crowds, large parts of which were buzzing off a mixture of alcohol and PSG's win, took over the streets, with women reporting a hostile atmosphere across the city. A Parisian student called Dounia, who went out with friends to celebrate the victory on the banks of the Seine, described how she was sexually and verbally assaulted by visibly drunk PSG supporters. 'A man in his forties approached me, holding a flask of alcohol. I saw him approaching and suddenly I felt his hand grab my buttocks,' the 18-year-old told Le Parisien. She told the outlet that she is still in shock days later. 'It was his reaction when I turned around that was the most telling,' the young woman said. 'He insulted me and pushed me violently, before walking away with his friend.' TikTok creator Lily-Rose described feeling 'scared for my life' as she cycled through the city shortly after the game finished. She described having shards of glass bottles thrown at her and feeling as though she would be knocked off her bike at any moment. 'Luckily, they landed on the bike frame and I wasn't hit,' she sighs in a TikTok video. 'My evening was ruined. It was supposed to be a moment of euphoria and joy, but that didn't take into account this problematic and misogynistic behavior,' she added. 'When you see the way you behave, it's scary, it's terrifying. I'm shaking, I'm traumatized, I thought I was going to die several times.' Other female PSG fans hoping to celebrate their team's success said they were unable to spend any more than fifteen minutes in the crowd before being assaulted. 'We had two hands on our asses and one on our breasts,' one of the friends reportedly said. 'We want to party but we can't.' Footage of the horrific attacks was widely condemned online, but also met with more misogynistic comments. 'Why were you out?' men on Instagram, X and TikTok responded to women's complaints. While many shops on the Champs-Elysees were protected ahead of the Champions League final, some did not escape damage Other vile comments read: 'You're a girl and you're going to celebrate PSG on the Champs-Elysées, that counts in the bodycount ' and 'The girls who are going to be on the Champs-Elysées on the 31st, we already know why you're there'. 'You're a woman and you're going to Paris when you know it's going to be chaos whether we win or lose. Are you stupid?' another person said. Dounia said the responses angered her even more, and that women should be 'able to go out into the street freely, whether there's a sporting event or not.' Statistics show that there are 114,000 sexual assaults are recorded in France every year - equivalent to one every four minutes. Of the victims, 85 per cent are women, and nearly 50 per cent of French women say they feel unsafe in public spaces. Speaking to PSG players at the Élysée Palace on Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the 'unacceptable' violence seen on the streets the night before. 'Nothing can justify what has happened in recent hours, the violent clashes are unacceptable. We will pursue, we will punish, we will be relentless.'
