1 person hurt in crash involving scooter near UTEP

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A person on a scooter was seriously hurt when they were hit by a vehicle late Tuesday night, July 1 near UTEP, an El Paso Fire Department spokesperson said.
The crash happened a little after 9 p.m. at North Mesa and East Robinson, the spokesperson said.
A person on a scooter was transported with serious injuries (Code 3), the Fire Department spokesperson said.
Police said their Special Traffic Investigations Unit responded to the scene and was looking into the crash. Police confirmed that one person was seriously hurt in the crash.

Tacoma police investigating after man was shot, injured downtown

Tacoma police are investigating a shooting that seriously injured a man just before midnight Thursday downtown. Multiple 911 callers reported the incident near the 300 block of South 9th Street, Tacoma Police Department spokesperson Shelbie Boyd said Friday. She said the man was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were possibly life threatening. No suspects have been arrested, Boyd said. It's unclear what led to the shooting. Emergency services scanner traffic indicated the victim was shot three times, and another person was stuck under a car near 9th and Market streets. A suspect reportedly fled west.

An investigation is underway after a Fourth of July shooting in Sacramento that left two people hurt. Sacramento police say officers responded near Meadowview Road and Brookfield Drive just after 1 p.m. to investigate calls of a shooting. At the scene, police say officers found two men who had been shot. Both men were taken to the hospital. One of the victims had non-life-threatening injuries while the other person was in stable condition, police say. Exactly what led up to the men being shot is unclear.
