Dolphins reportedly trade Jalen Ramsey, Jonnu Smith to Steelers in exchange for Minkah Fitzpatrick

The Miami Dolphins have traded cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Pittsburgh Steelers after two seasons in South Beach, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Ramsey confirmed the deal in a video on X.
In exchange for Ramsey, the Dolphins received five-time Pro Bowl safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Tight end Jonnu Smith was also shipped to the Steelers in the deal, per Schefter.

The transaction happened after the Dolphins publicly made it known that they were willing to trade the 10-year veteran.
After a disastrous end to their season, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said moving Ramsey was the "best chance to help us win not only just this year but in the future as well."
"Really after a couple weeks of discussions between ourselves internally and Jalen and his representation, we decided that it was probably in the best interest for all parties to move forward," Grier said. "I will say these decisions aren't done quickly and they're not taken lightly because we spent a lot of time this offseason working through this, talking through things. At the end of the day, Jalen did not ask for a trade.
"We went through the process, and I just felt that after numerous conversations and then talking last week with Jalen and his agent, that it was best to move forward, and it was best interest of the Miami Dolphins and for Jalen Ramsey."
In his second season with the team, Miami finished with an 8-9 record and missed the playoff for the first time in three years. Ramsey tallied 60 tackles, a sack, and two interceptions for seven yards.
Once he was made available, Ramsey was linked to the Los Angeles Rams, with whom he helped win the Super Bowl in 2020. The FSU product spent four years in Jacksonville and LA before joining Miami in 2023.

Though Rams head coach Sean McVay expressed interest in a reunion, it was the Steelers who struck first for the veteran cornerback. The two franchises were the most involved for Ramsey, per Rapoport.
The move shores up an already strong Steelers' defense, and gives them another talented veteran player in what is expected to be Aaron Rodgers' final season in the NFL. With Rodgers in tow for one year, the team needs to do everything in its power to contend in 2025. Ramsey should help them accomplish that.
Ramsey signed a three-year, $72 million extension in 2024 and was due to earn $24.2 million this season, per Over The Cap. With the trade, Ramsey will receive a $1.5 million raise, bringing his salary to $26.6 in 2025.
Ramsey's contract became less of a hindrance to trade after June 1, as his $25.213 million cap charge dropped by $18.468 million.

He's under team control with the Steelers through 2028.
Dolphins acquire Minkah Fitzpatrick from Steelers
Fitzpatrick, 28, returns to Miami after six seasons away. After being selected by the Dolphins in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Fitzpatrick played just a season and a half with the franchise before he was traded to the Steelers during the 2019 NFL season.
After a promising rookie season, Fitzpatrick was moved to nickelback to kick off his second season under then-Dolphins coach Brian Flores. Fitzpatrick, upset about his role, requested a trade, which the Dolphins eventually accommodated later that season. He thrived after joining the Steelers, earning his first All Pro nod.

Fitzpatrick continued to thrive in Pittsburgh over the next five seasons, making two more All-Pro teams and four Pro Bowls from 2020 to 2024.

Peyton Manning's 13-year-old son enrolls at Baylor School in Tennessee

The post Peyton Manning's 13-year-old son enrolls at Baylor School in Tennessee appeared first on ClutchPoints. Starting with family patriarch Archie Manning, the family has taken over the NFL since the 1970s. Manning's sons, Eli and Peyton, each forged their own paths. Eli won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants, while Peyton joined his father in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in addition to winning two Lombardi Trophies of his own. Now, the next generation is up. Arch Manning, the son of Peyton and Eli's brother Cooper, is now the starting quarterback at the University of Texas. Joining Arch at the next level could be his cousin Marshall, Peyton's son. Marshall's next team has been decided according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press' Stephen Hargis. 'Sources confirmed Friday that Marshall Manning, the son of Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, has enrolled and will attend Baylor as an eighth-grade day student,' wrote Hargis on Friday. In the recent past, Manning's own star has begun to flourish. Like his father before him, it seems as if a future in college football is already before him. And this is all before he takes a snap in high school, which wouldn't begin until next year. He would be a Class of 2030 recruit. With Marshall Manning now plying his trade in the state of Tennessee, a new question emerges: will the Tennessee football program, his father's alma mater, become the front runner in his eventual recruitment? Could Peyton Manning's son be next link in Manning quarterback legacy? The youngest Manning is now 14 years old and could eventually turn into a high-level prospect like his cousin Arch before him. That growth could continue at Baylor, which is likely why Peyton and his wife chose to allow their son to transfer. This could certainly fuel rumors that the Hall of Famer wants his son his to get more exposure in front of his alma mater in Knoxville. There's even a potential path in which father and son return to Rocky Top to try and continue the program's quest for national prominence. Many program boosters and supporters would love to have Peyton return to the school and get them back onto the path to glory. If that happens, will Marshall join him? Or will he forge his own path, just like Arch before him? Odell Beckham Jr.'s comments on joining Aaron Rodgers-led Steelers go viral

The Pittsburgh Steelers once again find themselves in the midst of some huge wide receiver speculation. On Tuesday, reports on two-time All-Pro WR Odell Beckham's desire to play in 2025 made waves on social media — but it's his previous comments on Steelers' Aaron Rodgers and HC Mike Tomlin that are taking the Steel City by storm. "I love [Rodgers], and we've had conversations," Beckham said about joining Rodgers on the June 30 edition of the Club Random Podcast with Bill Maher. 'I won't say that it's not a possibility and I won't say that I haven't had any communication. … F------ love Tomlin. I was actually supposed to be drafted to the Steelers." Beckham has dealt with a multitude of season-ending injuries over the span of his 10-year career — but if he's healthy and can contribute, there's no doubt Rodgers could get the most out of the 32-year-old, five-time 1,000-yard receiver. President Trump's 1984 Comment On Dallas Cowboys Goes Viral After Today's News

President Trump's 1984 Comment On Dallas Cowboys Goes Viral After Today's News originally appeared on The Spun. President Trump's 1984 comment on the Dallas Cowboys has gone viral following Wednesday's impressive news about the franchise. The Dallas Cowboys remain America's Team for a reason. While it's been more than 25 years since the Dallas Cowboys won a Super Bowl, no professional American sports franchise is more popular than Jerry Jones' team. On Wednesday, the Cowboys were named the most valuable professional sports franchise in America. Sportico announced that the Dallas Cowboys are worth a striking amount: more than $10 billion, to be official. The Dallas Cowboys were officially valued at $12.8 billion by Sportico. They are the most valuable team in America. The Los Angeles Rams trail the Cowboys by a couple of billion, valued at more than $10 billion. President Trump, meanwhile, passed on the chance to own the Dallas Cowboys back in 1984, when they were put up for sale. The President of the United States passed on the chance to own the Dallas Cowboys for $50 million. Three-plus decades later, they're worth 240 times more than that. Donald Trump had said that he felt 'sorry for the poor guy who is going to buy' the team. Back in 2018, Jerry Jones admitted that he wished that President Trump wouldn't get involved in the NFL's businesses. President Trump, who was in office in 2018, took issue with NFL players kneeling for the national anthem. "His interest in what we're doing is problematic, from my chair, and I would say in general the owners' chair," Jones said at Wednesday's news conference to open training camp. "It's unprecedented, if you really think about it. But like the very game itself, that's the way it is and we'll deal with it. "We feel strongly about how we deal with it and we'll do so accordingly, but, yes, I, like everybody, would like for it to go away." If President Trump had bought the Cowboys in 1984, things - including America - would look a lot different today.
