Teen found dead just days after going missing
A body was found amid the search for Marissa DiNapoli on Wednesday and it was positively identified as her on Thursday, according to police.
DiNapoli last communicated with her family on Saturday, sending them a text after 9 p.m. saying that she planned to stay the night with a friend and would return the next day, according to the Morgan Hill Police Department.
She was reported missing on Monday after she did not return home or respond to calls from family, police said.
Investigators determined DiNapoli was last seen with Martin Mendoza on June 28 just before 10 a.m. when the two were seen leaving a residence just outside the city limits of Morgan Hill, police said.
DiNapoli's car was later found in the same area, police said.

"This is not the outcome any of us wanted and we are heartbroken by this news. Marissa was a vibrant member of our Morgan Hill community with a bright future ahead of her," police said in a statement.
Mendoza was identified as a person of interest during the search for DiNapoli and remains so, according to police. Mendoza was not cooperative in the initial investigation, police said.
"Detectives are actively seeking information on his whereabouts and urge anyone with knowledge to contact their local law enforcement agency immediately. Mendoza is believed to be driving a white Toyota Camry bearing either license plate CW87W00 or 9PTM351," police said in a statement Wednesday.
But, police said they are actively seeking out other leads as well, asking anyone with any information to contact Detective Kyle Tolentino at (669)-253-4962.
DiNapoli's family asked for privacy as they grieve.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved Marissa, and at this time, our family kindly asks for privacy as we grieve and navigate this difficult journey," the family said in a statement released by police.
"We appreciate the love and support from those who have reached out. In honoring Marissa's memory, we kindly ask that no GoFundMe accounts or donation pages be created. If you wish to show support, please do so through your prayers, kind words, and cherished memories," the family said.

Massachusetts woman will plead guilty to leaking sealed federal grand jury information
Jessica Leslie, a 34-year-old Massachusetts woman, has agreed to plead guilty after prosecutors accused her of leaking federal grand jury information to unauthorized individuals. Prosecutors did not specify what case the grand jury was called for. Details were not disclosed regarding who Leslie leaked the information to. The information was allegedly leaked between Aug. 11, 2022 and March 4, 2024. Leslie was charged on Friday with one count of criminal contempt. She was facing prison time, supervised release, and a fine of $250,000 if convicted. Instead, the U.S. Attorney said Leslie agreed to plead guilty and will make an appearance in federal court at a later date. A plea hearing has not yet been scheduled. According to court documents, Leslie's plea agreement includes incarceration for one day that is deemed time served. She would not face a fine if the plea is accepted by the judge. Instead, she would be granted 24 months of supervised release and a mandatory special assessment of $100 that must be paid by sentencing. WBZ-TV attempted to reach Leslie's defense attorney for comment. He said he was in the process of speaking to his client and may have a comment in the near future.

Philadelphia police release photos of 2 suspects wanted in connection with Grays Ferry mass shooting
Philadelphia police released photos of two suspects they're searching for in connection with a mass shooting in Grays Ferry that killed 3 people and injured 9 on July 7. Police described the first suspect shown in the photo below as a male in his late teens or early 20s with a medium complexion, thin build and sideburns. The suspect was last seen wearing a gray head covering, black jacket, white T-shirt, black track pants and carrying an Under Armour backpack. Investigators said the second suspect is also a male in his late teens or early 20s, with a medium complexion and an unkempt afro. This suspect was last seen wearing black track pants, a black shirt and carrying a black Nike backpack with silver bubbling along the straps. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said the mass shooting happened on the 1500 block of South Etting Street just before 1 a.m. on July 7. Later that night, Philadelphia police released a video of three suspects on Ring surveillance who remain at large. Bethel said officers had already responded to the same block late Saturday night into early Sunday. Police made arrests during that earlier incident and continued to monitor the area throughout the weekend. Officers then returned on Sunday after receiving reports of loud music. While responding to a separate incident nearby, officers heard gunfire and rushed back to the block. In total, police said nine victims were taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and three others were taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. One additional victim walked into the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania's Pavilion Campus. Bethel said at least eight of the victims were taken by police. Police said another victim went to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia but was not shot and only injured from falling to the ground while running away. Bethel said he believes there were around 40 individuals who may have been present at the time of the shooting. He added that there may have been an exchange of gunfire, and dozens of shell casings were recovered from the scene. Police said one person was taken into custody with a weapon, though their role in the shooting is unclear.
