Fairhope traffic stop leads to arrest on gun, drug charges, police say
FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — A traffic stop in Fairhope led to a man facing gun and drug charges, according to the Fairhope Police Department.

According to an FPD Facebook post, Alante Javier Harris, 22, was arrested and is accused of possessing a stolen semi-automatic rifle and 4.7 ounces of hallucinogenic mushrooms.
The arrest occurred during what police called 'a routine traffic stop.'
The post said Harris now faces the following charges: second-degree receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, obstruction of justice for providing a false identity and drug paraphernalia possession.

Police said Harris also had several outstanding warrants.

Biden Jr. dropped out and Vice President Kamala Harris replaced him on the ticket; there was another apparent assassination attempt, this time at one of Mr. Trump's golf courses in Florida; and then, Mr. Trump reclaimed the presidency. Manhunt underway for GA man accused of ramming truck into patrol vehicle, leaving deputy injured
A suspect wanted for assault on a deputy remains at large, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] On Wednesday, around 3:30 a.m., a Habersham County deputy stopped a truck pulling a trailer near Juniper Trail in Toccoa. The GBI said the trailer had two flat tires. The truck stopped at the end of Juniper Trail. Officials said that as the deputy stepped out of his patrol car, the driver of the truck, Jonathan William Harris, 34, of Sautee, Ga., rammed into the patrol car, causing it to hit the deputy and knock him to the ground. The GBI said Harris got out of the truck, and that's when the deputy fired his gun and the 34-year-old ran away. The deputy sustained minor injuries and Harris's condition is unknown, the GBI said. Hall is charged with theft by receiving stolen property, obstruction of an officer, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was booked into the Habersham County Detention Center. Harris remains on the run. If you see him, do not approach. Instead, call 911 immediately. Harris is facing charges of possession of a firearm/knife during the commission of a crime, fleeing/eluding a police officer, aggravated assault upon a law enforcement officer, obstruction of an officer, and theft by receiving stolen property. The 34-year-old also has outstanding warrants for his arrest from an unrelated incident. According to the GBI, the truck and trailer had been reported stolen out of Hall County before the incident. The GBI's role is limited to conducting an independent investigation into the use of force.

Two hurt in downtown Mobile crash
UPDATE 6/10/25: Mobile Police sent a brief update Tuesday 'The vehicle was traveling south on Lawrence Street when it left the roadway and struck two light poles. The driver and a passenger had to be cut out of the vehicle by Mobile Fire-Rescue and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.' A spokesperson said speed could have been a factor as they continue to investigate. MOBILE, Ala (WKRG) – Two people are hurt after an SUV crashes in downtown Mobile before dawn Sunday morning. A vehicle crashed into two utility poles and a lamp post Sunday morning at the intersection of Church and South Lawrence Streets.
