Hawwa-Jannat Ibrahim, 10, from Bradford, West Yorkshire, was collecting a parcel from her next door neighbour's house when their dog escaped and chased her.
The terrified schoolgirl ran back in to her own home, but the Chow Chow pursued her and bit her on her own living room floor.
The attack took place in front of Hawwa-Jannat's sister who was screaming.
Hawwa-Jannat had to have her wounds glued in hospital following the ordeal, and has been left scarred on her inner leg.
She struggled to climb the stairs because of the pain caused by her injuries, and was off school for two weeks.
Mum-of-three Sofia Mehrban, 37, said her daughter now struggles to sleep, and prefers to stay at her grandparents' house rather than her own home.
She said: "Any time there's a parcel or a letter, he'll bark and run about. My daughter can hear that in the house.
"She's obviously petrified of it. It's like she's in prison inside her own home.
"My two-year-old is petrified when my front door opens or my back door, she tells everyone 'the dog's going to come in'.
"It's not fair on my children."
Sofia said she contacted police following the incident but that they'd done "absolutely nothing".
Three days after the incident, officers seized the dog from its owners.
But, 10 days later it was returned under conditions that a sign be put in front of the home, a baby gate be installed, and the owners attend a dog training course - something Sofia says isn't good enough.
She added: "I want it retrained and rehoused. If that's not an option, then I want it put down.
"Right now, it's put down or removed from next door. My daughters can't carry on living next door to a dog that's a danger to everybody, to children and animals."
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Police attended a report that a dog had bitten a child on Compton Street, on 26 March.
"The child had suffered non life threatening injuries.
"A statement from the victim wasn't taken and an appointment was made for the next day, due to operational commitments this was not carried out.
"The victim then came into the police station on 28 March and a crime was recorded and the investigation started.
"The dog was seized by Bradford Neighbourhood Policing Team on 1 April.
"A man voluntarily attended a police station in relation to the incident, admitted the offence of being in charge of a dog that was dangerously out of control and was given a conditional caution.
"Bradford South Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) liaised with the dog section at West Yorkshire Police and the dog was released back to the owner along with three conditions which included: "1. Put a sign at the front of the property that displays there is a dog present.
"2. Put a working baby gate inside of the address to secure the dog from getting out.
"3. Attend a dog training course in relation to dog behaviour.
"Several compliance checks have been made since by officers and all conditions have been met on every occasion.
"Bradford South NPT are aware of concerns within the community and are engaging with local residents in the area."

Long-awaited Casey grooming gang review links illegal migration with exploitation of British girls

A DAMNING review into rape gangs will directly link illegal migration with the exploitation of British girls, The Sun can reveal. The Home Office is expected to publish the long-awaited National Audit on Group-Based Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse next week. 1 A source familiar with the report said its author, Baroness Louise Casey, specifically links illegal migration with the violence perpetrated against vulnerable girls. The Sun understands there are fears in the Home Office that knowledge of the link between undocumented arrivals and grooming gangs could trigger more civil unrest. The Home Office today refused to deny the involvement of illegal migration in the Casey report. A government spokesperson said: 'Nothing is more important than protecting vulnerable children, and we are determined to crack down on vile grooming gangs once and for all. 'That's why we ordered a rapid national audit to uncover the true scale of this horrific abuse. 'This report – alongside our response – will be published shortly.' The Casey review was tasked with building a 'national picture of what is known about current group-based child sexual exploitation' and to 'identify local and national trends'. It will also 'provide an assessment of what is known about the demographics of grooming gangs and their victims, including ethnicity'. It comes as a grooming gang have been found guilty of raping and abusing two teen girls in Rochdale in a five-year reign of terror. The seven men "passed" the victims around for sex and preyed on them in squalid flats and car parks in the town. They groomed the girls from the age of 13 and made them their "sex slaves" by plying them with gifts, including alcohol and drugs. The victims both had "deeply troubled home lives", which meant they were easy prey for the fiends. During a five-year horror ordeal, the girls were expected to have sex "whenever and wherever" the defendants and other men wanted. As well as flats and car parks, the predators abused the teens on rancid mattresses, in cars, alleyways and disused warehouses. Mohammed Zahid, 64, Kasir Bashir, 50, Mushtaq Ahmed, 66, Roheez Khan, 39, Mohammed Shahzad, 43, Nisar Hussain, 43, and Naheem Akram, 48, were today convicted. Three of the abusers, Zahid, Ahmed and Bashir were born in Pakistan and worked as stallholders on Rochdale's indoor market. Father-of-three Zahid - known as Boss Man - gave free underwear from his lingerie stall to both victims. He was previously jailed for five years after he engaged in sexual activity in 2006 with a 15-year-old girl who he met when she visited his stall to buy tights for school.

EXCLUSIVE Jail bosses investigate video showing 'prison governor walking out of city centre brothel'

An investigation has been launched into a video allegedly showing a prison governor walking out of a brothel, MailOnline can reveal. Footage shows a man dressed in a grey suit and a white shirt walking out of a door between two shuttered shopfronts in Sheffield. He briefly glances to one side before walking out of view of the camera, which appears to be on a vehicle dashboard. MailOnline has shared the video with the Ministry of Justice, which confirmed the incident is 'currently under internal investigation'. If criminals became aware a prison governor had visited a brothel they could use this information for blackmail, one former governor warned today. The premises, GFE, describes itself as a 'premier massage parlour' that offers 'the best choice of girls, all excited, fun and guaranteed to offer you satisfaction'. When a MailOnline reporter visited the seedy establishment, he was told to go into the waiting area. Three skimpily dressed women then appeared from behind a curtain and offered their services. A receptionist confirmed they all provided GFE - girlfriend experience - in which sex workers perform intimate acts. The other male customer then selected one of the women. At this point, the reporter left. The premises shown in the video is at one end of a row of shops and next door to a massage parlour. The man was seen walking out of the door seen here behind the white car The video has emerged at a time the behaviour of prison staff is under intense scrutiny following a series of affairs between officers and inmates. There is also an increased focus on the deteriorating security situation in British jails after several serious assaults on guards. MailOnline knows the name of the prison governor who is alleged to be in the video. One insider at his jail said: 'This video was the talk of the town when the video emerged. Everyone was saying is it him or isn't it him? 'If it is him he has not really done any harm to anyone apart from his marriage, but one thing is for sure - he appears to have f****d up royally.' Ian Acheson, who worked for the Prison Service for over a decade and held a variety of senior roles, said the footage was concerning. 'By virtue of their huge discretionary power, prison governors are particularly vulnerable if their behaviour can be exploited by criminals,' he told MailOnline. 'Blackmail and corruption are the most obvious examples. An investigation shows that these unproven allegations are being taken seriously. 'The public rightly expect a very high standard of personal conduct from senior law enforcement officials. We should also respect due process in this case.' Reviews of GFE posted on Google. A Prison Service spokesman said: 'This incident is currently under internal investigation. It would be inappropriate to comment further until this has concluded.' A series of sex scandals that have rocked the prison service in recent years. This includes the case of prison officer Cherri-Ann Austin-Saddington, 29, who became besotted with a sex offender Bradley Trengrove after he was moved to HMP The Verne in Portland, Dorset. The pair embarked on a six month relationship which involved them often having sex in prison workshops while nobody was around. The female prison warden even got pregnant by Trengrove, although she later lost the baby. During the affair, Austin-Saddington smuggled a mobile phone into the Category C prison for her lover so they could communicate. The mother-of-three saved his name in her mobile under 'husband to be'. She received a suspended prison sentence and is now in a relationship with another man. Bradley Trengrove (pictured) was serving a 13 year extended jail sentence for raping a woman and having sexual activity with a child in 2013 and 2014 There have also been a series of serious security breaches inside jails involving attacks on prison staff. Last month, a male warden was taken to hospital with 'serious injuries' after being stabbed at HMP Long Lartin. It followed a string of other assaults involving prisoners, including Manchester Arena terrorist Hashem Abedi. Meanwhile, convicted murderer John Mansfield was killed during a brutal attack at a high security prison in April. The 63-year-old was hit in the head with a weight, MailOnline revealed at the time. Experts have warned of a 'collapse in security' across the UK prison system amid what the prison officers' union described as 'out of control' violence.
