Now Kyogo's hoping to once again find the form and enjoyment that made him so popular at Parkhead with the newly promoted and high-flying Blues in the English Championship.
He told Blues+: 'I'm very happy to be here. I'm looking forward to working together with you all.
'I get fired up more in bigger games, but I score goals because of team-mates, so I'm grateful for that. I'd like to achieve the same here, and hopefully my goals will make everyone happy.
'I have good memories (from Celtic) with lots of titles, so it was a wonderful three and a half, four years. Lots of fans still say hello to me, so I felt I was really lucky.
"But this is a new place, and I'd like to do my best here.
'I'm here to help the team. I'd like to express what I can do on the pitch.
'I don't want to talk a lot, but there's a chance that we can go up to the Premier League. We all want to aim for that and after nine months, it will be great if we share the happiness of achieving that.
"There might be more pressure, but we will enjoy playing together on the pitch and fighting.
"Honestly I'm introvert and shy but if it makes everyone happy I'll do what I can outside the pitch.
"But on the pitch, I'd like to be a player to lead the team."
Will Adam Idah still be at Celtic next season after failing to take Kyogo's jersey
On his troubled spell in France, he added: "It was a difficult time for me, but I don't have any regrets going there.
"I've gained some experience, so I'd like to use that here."
And he's got not just a fellow countryman but a former Hoops teammate there with him to help him settle in.
He said: "I'm happy to be able to play with Tomoki [Iwata] again, and he said the same too. So we'd like to aim to be in the Premier League together.
"Everyone wants to play for the national team and it's the same for any country. I'd like to be in it and aspire to go to the World Cup."

Brendan Rodgers' men have already added two attackers in this window, first with right winger Benjamin Nygren joining from Nordsjaelland. They then snapped up former Fulham striker Callum Osmand on a free transfer. And now they're rumoured to be closing in on a player for the third and final attacking position, on the left wing. That's as Belgian outlet Voetbalkrant reports that Celts are nearing an agreement with Royal Antwerp over Michel-Ange Balikwisha. We've told you how the Hoops have been considering the Belgian in the past, most recently as an alternative to fellow target Isak Jansson. Voetbalkrant say that the two clubs have been 'in talks for some time' over a deal, and that Celtic are 'now pushing through'. It's understood that the Belgian side want to collect a 'hefty sum' for the 24-year-old while they can, with his contract set to expire next year and no extension planned. Balikwisha's form reportedly 'did not go unnoticed at European level', but it's not specified whether Celts could face competition for the signature. The winger had a stop-start season through injury, but managed three goals and two assists in the final seven games of the season to help Antwerp into a European place.
