Boy, two, in coma after airport passenger throws him head-first on floor

WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT. The man appeared to not care with video footage showing the injured child lying motionless on the floor as his attacker walked away
A helpless toddler - believed to be a refugee from current attacks on Iran - was thrown headfirst to the floor by a stranger in the arrivals hall at an airport and is now fighting for his life in hospital.
The 18-month-old boy is now in a coma after suffering skull fractures and spinal injuries in the appalling attack, which was caught on CCTV. The youngster, wearing a pair of dungarees, had been waiting near a suitcase, while his pregnant mum was collecting their pushchair from staff.

The man, a 31-year-old Belarusian tourist named Vladimir Vitkov who is a father to a child the same age, can be seen suddenly picking up the boy, before hurling him to the ground in the Moscow airport.

The attacker - described as a 'monster' by a Russian official - apparently checks to see if anyone is watching and before lurching forward, grabbing the child, throwing him hard on the floor in the arrivals section of Russia's busiest airport - Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow, which sees more than 40 million passengers and over 300,000 planes per year.
The boy had just arrived in Russia, having fled Iran with his mother, coming via a tortuous route through Afghanistan, Russian news reports say. The suspect had flown to Moscow from Cyprus or Egypt, the same day.
He was arrested at the scene and blood tests showed traces of cannabis and now faces an attempted murder charge.
Moscow Region Children's Ombudswoman Ksenia Mishonova said: 'A drug-addled monster grabbed a toddler in the arrivals hall and threw him on the floor with all his might.

'All this is incredibly difficult to bear. I hope the detained monster will receive the full severity of the law. I wish the child a speedy recovery. May the parents have the strength to survive this.'
According to the Russian Investigative Committee the man was unable to explain his actions. He was asked by officers if he had been in trouble with the police before and replied: 'I made mistakes like that.'

Vitkov has a daughter the same age as the boy thrown to the ground, local media is reporting. A female friend said she was 'in shock' from his alleged actions.
The committee said: 'A man, while in the airport arrivals area in a state of drug intoxication, grabbed a child and, lifting him, threw him to the floor with considerable force.
'The boy was hospitalised in a medical facility for assistance. The man's criminal actions were stopped by eyewitnesses of the incident.'

Moment speeding driver leaves seriously injured woman for dead to pick up £20 notes after ploughing into her junction in horror crash

This is the shocking moment a speeding driver leaves a seriously injured woman for dead to pick up £20 notes after ploughing into her car. Ty Kelsall, 22, smashed his hired white Vauxhall Corsa into the right-hand side of the victim's vehicle, leaving her with fractures to her pelvis, spine and fibula, along with an injury to her sternum. The woman, in her 50s, was trapped inside the car after Kelsall, who was driving at high speeds and without a licence, crushed her driver's side door during the incident in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Following the horror crash in May 2023, Kelsall was only arrested two months later when he was found in possession of 26 wraps of crack cocaine. He was jailed for three years by a judge at Sheffield Crown Court on June 10, after he admitted to causing serious injury by dangerous driving and possessing Class A drugs at a previous hearing. Kelsall was also banned from driving for three years with an 18-month extension to reflect the amount of time he is likely to spend behind bars. And now horrific footage has emerged of him walking away after the devastating crash leaving his victim fighting for her life. The woman can be seen in the CCTV clip driving down the suburban road in her mid blue car. Kelsall's Vauxhall can then be seen coming out of nowhere, speeding into view from the victim's right after ignoring a give way sign at a crossroads. It then collides at pace into the blue car, producing a sickening white cloud of smoke on impact. The victim's vehicle then goes hurtling into a nearby garden hedge, almost splitting it in half, while the Vauhall comes to a halt with the car bonnet open. Kelsall and three fellow passengers are then spotted ignoring the woman's crushed car completely, calmly collecting some £20 notes strewn among the rubble while one of the group jogs away from the scene. The four men in the Vauxhall also didn't check on the woman after the horrendous impact. Kelsall was subsequently charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and possessing Class A drugs, both of which he pleaded guilty to at an earlier hearing at Sheffield Crown Court. Speaking out for the first time since the crash - the victim - who does not want to be named - said she was 'mortified' to learn that the first thoughts of Kelsall was not to check on the other person involved in the collision, but to run off She said: 'The worst bit is that they were driving recklessly and to hear they ran off. I didn't think there were any human beings who would act like that. 'You're entering into a loaded weapon when you get into a car - that's how I feel.' Kelsall only had access to the car after recruiting a friend to hire it on his behalf. The victim only gave permission to share the video of the crash in a bid to make drivers 'think twice' about engaging in the same sort of driving as Kelsall, which has cost her so much. She said: 'I could have died, it could have been so much worse. 'However, it's almost as bad as when you do die, because you still have the injuries, the pain and suffering, and the adjustments you have to make. 'I'm no longer independent - they've stolen that from me. He's stolen my independence and the last two years of my life.'

Horror moment reveller is smashed in head with BOTTLE during Magaluf brawl as two Brit tourists arrested over clash

THIS is the horrifying moment a man is smashed in the head with a glass bottle during a Magaluf brawl. Two Brits have been arrested for attempted murder after they allegedly slashed customers and staff at a restaurant during the late-night assault. 3 3 They are reportedly a 24-year-old and a 33-year-old who have also been charged with injuries and serious disturbance of public order. Shocking CCTV captured the savage attack as a tourist was seen grabbing a bottle before crashing it onto the back of a reveller's head. The man went on to try and throw a punch at others with two people being left injured. The 24-year-old Brit was held after cops rushed to the party resort and saw him confronting others as he was covered in blood and waved a broken bottle in his hand. It is unclear if either of the British men are the ones in the footage. According to witnesses, the man, his companion and two other people who had fled, had assaulted both employees and two unknown people, customers of the restaurant. Several ambulances were called to the scene with three victims being rushed to the Son Espases Hospital. They suffered wounds on their neck, head, arms and legs, local media reports. A spokesman for the Civil Guard confirmed: "Two people aged 24 and 33 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide, wounding and causing serious public disorder following an incident at a nightspot in Palmanova. 'The arrests occurred in the early hours of Sunday." They added: 'Officers sent to Majorca as part of summer reinforcements were carrying out routine security patrols when they were alerted a mass might was occurring in a premises near to where they were. 'They saw a man covered in blood brandishing a broken bottle who was attacking others present. 'They quickly reduced him and got the broken bottle off him." Two other people fled the scene before police arrived, police added. The nationality of those injured has not been revealed. It is also not yet known if the two Brits have been formally charged or have appeared in court. It comes after shocking footage captured the moment a Magaluf doorman floored a British tourist with a flurry of punches after being bottled in a horror attack. The bouncer was left with a nasty gash that needed at least 20 stitches - and the Brit has now been convicted over the assault at Plaza on the bustling Punta Ballena strip. CCTV footage showed the Lithuanian bouncer exploding at Max Barnes, then 19, who he has up against a wall after the drinker bottled him. He unloads a series of sharp jabs in the packed nightspot, acting in self-defence. The customer dodges as many as he can but some of the blows land home. The fight spills into the middle of the bar, where the bouncer delivers one more clean whack that sends the customer sprawling onto the floor. He then brings his hand to his blood-covered face and neck to inspect the damage. The 34-year-old doorman was left with a gash needing 20 stitches, a court was told.

Two Brits are arrested after brutal Majorca brawl caught on camera that saw one man smashed over the head with a bottle

Police have arrested two Brits on suspicion of attempted homicide over this violent altercation in a nightspot near the Majorcan party resort of Magaluf. One of the men was held after cops arrived and allegedly saw him confronting others with a broken bottle in his hand. It was not immediately clear if he was the same tourist seen smashing a man in the back of the head with a bottle before trying to punch another in an orgy of violence caught on CCTV. Moments before the horror attack the man who narrowly missed being caught full in the face with a right hook could be seen trying to calm down a reveller thought to be a friend who ended up being hit with the bottle. Police today confirmed three people had been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning. The unnamed nightspot where the attacks occurred is in Palmanova next to Magaluf. A spokesman for the Civil Guard confirmed: 'Two people aged 24 and 33 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide, wounding and causing serious public disorder following an incident at a nightspot in Palmanova. 'The arrests occurred in the early hours of Sunday. Moments before the horror attack the man who narrowly missed being caught full in the face with a right hook could be seen trying to calm down a reveller thought to be a friend who ended up being hit with the bottle 'Officers sent to Majorca as part of summer reinforcements were carrying out routine security patrols when they were alerted a mass fight was occurring in a premises near to where they were. 'They saw a man covered in blood brandishing a broken bottle who was attacking others present. 'They quickly reduced him and got the broken bottle off him. 'Staff said he, his companion and two others who had fled the scene had attacked employees and two strangers. 'The officers requested medical backup so they could assist the three people who had been hurt. 'Given the depth of their injuries and the fact they affected vital areas, they were transferred to Son Espases Hospital in the Majorcan capital Palma where they were given stitches to open wounds in their neck, head, arms and legs. 'The blood-covered man, who was the 24-year-old, was arrested along with his 33-year-old companion.' Well-placed sources said today both men were British. It was not immediately clear this afternoon if they have already appeared before a judge and if so, whether they were remanded in custody or released pending an ongoing investigation. Last week footage emerged of the moment a Magaluf doorman left a British tourist on the ground with a flurry of punches after reacting to being bottled in a horror attack. CCTV footage showed the Lithuanian bouncer exploding and using his fists to defend himself in the packed nightspot before bringing his hand to his blood-covered face and neck. The 34-year-old was left with a gash wound needing 20 stitches according to public prosecutors, although local reports put the number of stitches at 50. Prosecutors had demanded a five-year prison sentence for Max Barnes, 25, who was held on an international arrest warrant after being bailed and going AWOL following the attack. The Brit, 19 at the time of the early-hours incident on July 31 2019, claimed after his arrest by Civil Guard officers that he had acted in self-defence by responding to a previous assault. But last Wednesday he was handed an 18-month suspended prison sentence after admitting the unprovoked attack at The Plaza bar at the end of Magaluf's bustling Punta Ballena strip as part of a plea bargain deal. Barnes, who had already paid his victim nearly £35,000 in compensation, admitted his guilt in a trial where he spoke briefly via video conference. Trial judges said they were taking his confession and compensation payment into account in allowing him to remain a free man as long as he doesn't reoffend. The CCTV footage from the bar did not show the moment Barnes used a broken bottle to disfigure the doorman. But it did show the run-up to the attack when the Lithuanian man, who was wearing a white T-shirt, could be heard arguing with the Brit after telling him he had to leave because he was misbehaving. It also showed the doorman's reaction to being assaulted as he responded by putting Barnes on the floor in the packed bar with a series of well-aimed punches. The Brit was held in the UK on an international arrest warrant after paying £13,000 bail to get out of prison and flying back home. Officials in Majorca issued the arrest order after he failed to respond to court communications. Public prosecutors said in their pre-trial indictment they had uncovered no evidence of the previous attack Barnes had alleged took place and claimed he was defending himself against. In November 2023 a British soldier prosecuted over a glass attack on her holiday friend in a Magaluf nightclub escaped prison and was let off with a £780 fine. Hertfordshire-born Cole was warned initially she could be jailed for three years after being charged with a crime of wounding by Spanish state prosecutors despite her victim's refusal to press charges Bus driver's daughter Sydney Cole was arrested when her Scots-born Lance Corporal pal Sarah Garrity was left in intensive care after losing four pints of blood and needing 14 stitches to a neck wound. She was warned initially she could be jailed for three years after being charged with a crime of wounding by Spanish state prosecutors despite her victim's refusal to press charges. Cole, serving in the Adjutant General's Corps based at Fort George Barracks in Inverness when the horror incident happened on April 15 2019, avoided prison after confessing to hurting Sarah as part of a plea bargain deal. Irvine, Ayrshire-born Sarah, who was serving in the Royal Logistics Corps when she was critically injured, triggered the early release of Cole from prison days after her arrest and preventative remand in custody after telling police and court officials she did not want to press charges. Prosecutors decided to continue trying to build a case against the accused woman after witnesses told police the attacker threw a glass directly at Sarah's neck during a row at Magaluf's Banana's nightclub following an all-day drinking session. Cole, now 25, initially insisted after her arrest her holiday pal was hurt in an accident when she threw the glass on the floor during the fight with her and shards from it hit Sarah in the neck before striking her plea bargain deal.
