All doctors have been instructed to be present at their workplaces, and if needed, they will be sent to border areas to provide their services, Ansari said.

'The Health Department is fully prepared to deal with any emergency, and all hospitals in the state have been put on high alert,' he added.
Special arrangements have been made near army cantonment areas, he said.
Tensions have escalated between the two neighbouring countries after Indian armed forces on Wednesday carried out missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in retaliation to the April 22 attack in Pahalgam.
According to the Defence Ministry, Pakistan sent 300-400 drones in 36 locations from Leh to Sir Creek on Thursday night to target India's military installations. PTI NAM MNB

65-year-old woman beats end-stage disease by successful lung transplant in Delhi
The woman was suffering from end-stage interstitial lung disease (ILD) caused by scleroderma, a rare autoimmune condition, said a statement from the hospital. The patient had been oxygen-dependent for over a year and faced progressive respiratory failure, it added. The surgery was carried out by doctors at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in the national capital. New Delhi, Jun 11 (PTI) A 65-year-old woman battling an end-stage lung disease got a new lease of life due to a successful bilateral lung transplant at a private hospital, officials said on Wednesday. She was admitted to the hospital on May 14, after years of battling connective tissue disease-related ILD, requiring continuous oxygen support of 4-5 litres per minute and unable to perform basic activities independently. Her oxygen saturation would fall to 70 per cent without external oxygen. Despite being on long-term immunosuppressive therapy, her lung function had severely declined, it said. A team of doctors examined her and confirmed that she was a fit candidate for a bilateral lung transplant, one of the most advanced and high-risk procedures in thoracic surgery. On May 15, a matching donor lung became available from a brain-dead patient at Fortis Hospital, Noida, the statement added. The transplant team at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital retrieved the lungs late at night and initiating the transplant surgery around 3 am. The procedure lasted nearly seven hours and was conducted while the patient was on ECMO support — a critical intervention to maintain oxygenation and circulation during the operation, the statement added. Post-transplant, she required ventilatory support and underwent a tracheostomy due to a poor cough reflex. Over the following weeks, she underwent more than 15 bronchoscopies to manage airway secretions, until her natural respiratory reflexes were restored, it said. The patient was gradually taken off all external supports, shifted to oral immunosuppressive medication, and started on a structured rehabilitation programme to support recovery and improve lung function. Of these, 1,66,841 cards have been distributed exclusively under the Vay Vandana Yojana (VVY) — an initiative aimed at ensuring dignified and secure aging for Delhi's senior citizens, an official statement said. New Delhi, Jun 11 (PTI) Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh on Wednesday said over 3.45 lakh health cards have been issued under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana till date. 'The prompt issuance of over 3.45 lakh cards is a testament to the Delhi government's efficient implementation and the people's trust in our healthcare initiatives. We are committed to upholding the dignity and well-being of every senior citizen in the capital,' Singh said. As part of the government's expanded healthcare infrastructure, 85 hospitals have been empanelled under the schemes — 60 private and 25 government-run facilities, allowing beneficiaries to access quality care across both sectors. These cards offer up to Rs 10 lakh in cashless hospitalisation benefits, not just within Delhi but also across empanelled hospitals nationwide. The construction of 1,139 Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs across Delhi is in full swing. The plan is to equip each of Delhi's 70 assembly constituencies with Aarogya Mandirs, bringing healthcare closer to the people. 'This very month, over 30 new Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs will be dedicated to the people of Delhi,' he added. Every Delhi resident above 70 years, possessing an Aadhaar card, is eligible for registration under Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana. PTI SLB SKY SKY This report is auto-generated from PTI news service.
