Man brutally beaten up by friend, stripped naked and paraded through village while neighbours filmed him
Thug Karl Griffins, 42, received a huge sentence after the horrifying ordeal was caught on camera by neighbours.

Swansea Crown Court heard that Griffins spent much of the day and evening of January 30 at a friend's house in the Welsh village of Penclawdd.
According to prosecutor Crag Jones, Griffins received a phone call and left the flat before returning and locking the door behind him.
Then, he told everyone inside that they couldn't leave.
Next, the court heard that he took the phones of his friend and his friend's partner and accused them of stealing from them though it was unclear whether he was accusing them of stealing money or drugs.
Griffins refused to return the couple's phones and then beat the pair with his friend's girlfriend's crutches.
The court heard that he punched his friend in the head, before demanding that he removed his clothes.
Reportedly, Griffins told his friend that they were 'going for a walk' and 'paraded him naked around the streets'.
Mobile phone footage of the victim near the Penclawdd CK store was recorded during the ordeal, before Griffins returned his friend to the flat.
The 42-year-old smashed his friend's TV before calling the police and saying: 'Someone better come and get me, I'm going to kill someone.'
Griffins was arrested and told authorities that he had gone to his friend's house after arguing with his mother.

He accused the friend of stealing from him and admitted to parading him naked in a bid to humiliate him.
Before appearing in the dock for sentencing, Griffins pleaded guilty to a slew of crimes including battery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, criminal damage and kidnapping.
The 42-year-old was then slapped with a 31 month prison sentence, with half of his sentence to be served behind bars.
His defence said that no disagreement between Griffins and his friend "could not remotely justify the level of humiliation and violence" caused by his client.
He added that it was clear in the video footage that the victim was distressed as "he was marched through the centre of Penclawdd in a state of undress".
Griffins' defence said that his client's actions could be explained through him being intoxicated and that he was now facing his addiction to controlled drugs.
The 42-year-old has been granted enhanced-prisoner status at HMP Swansea and allegedly hopes that his former friend can forgive him in the future.
Griffins has a history of criminal activity, including non-domestic burglaries, supplying Class A drugs and weapons offences.

Drunken Wallpole also "ignored" Mr Hopson's pleas to moderate his language as he continued to badger the drinker. He was then caught on "clear" CCTV footage attacking the elderly drinker. Matters came to a head when Walpole took the victim's seat before smashing a pint glass over the back of his Hopson's head after being told to move. The attack caused cuts to Mr Hopson's ear, neck and head and prosecutor Michael Duck KC told jurors: "There can be no suggestion (Walpole) was acting in self-defence or anything of that sort." A barman was then punched in the face as he frogmarched Walpole out of the club. "Belligerent" Walpole was arrested for all three attacks later the same night. He remained abusive throughout the process and "booking in" at a police station, the court heard. Jurors were also shown "haunting" footage of "world-renowned" restoration expert John pleading for help on a security camera before he was attacked by Walpole. Earlier that evening, Walpole had been seen on CCTV arriving at John's bungalow, before going inside and attacking the pensioner. The pensioner could be seen waving at the camera - said to be linked to his daughter, Walpole's mum - while in the garden before heading inside. Mr Duck told jurors: "John Brown is Jakob Walpole's grandfather. He was a frail man and he had recently been diagnosed with the early stages of dementia. "He was plainly a vulnerable individual and the evidence will demonstrate that this defendant was acutely aware of that." 8 8 8 John was well known in the local community, having run a successful car panel and body repair business due to his expertise in respect of vintage cars, the court heard. Police summoned to the bungalow by John's daughter, Lynda Brown, found the pensioner "dazed and confused" and with significant injuries to his face and arms. Despite being rushed to hospital, over the following hours John suffered a bleed on the brain as a result of the attack and passed away six days later. Walpole had also attended a match at Coventry City 's home stadium that lunchtime before visiting local pubs in the run-up to the spree of violence. Concerns about Walpole's "deteriorating behaviour" had led to a security camera being installed at his grandparents' home address in Bulkington. He was also already subject to a restraining order when he carried out the attack on his grandfather. 'ACT OF COWARDICE' Walpole, of School Road, Bulkington, Warwickshire, will be sentenced next Monday. Commenting after the case, Natalie Kelly, from the Crown Prosecution Service, said: "Jakob Walpole carried out a senseless and brutal attack on his own grandfather who had tried to help him. "He showed no concern or remorse following the attack. "Rather than call for help, he callously left his vulnerable and elderly grandfather severely injured and went to a local pub where he assaulted two further elderly victims. "Everyone who knew Mr Brown saw how much he did for his grandson, often going out of his way to care and support him - but Walpole simply took advantage of his kindness. "While this conviction ensures Walpole is held accountable for his actions, the family have been left with a deep and lasting pain that no justice can erase." Detective Inspector Gareth Unett, who led the investigation for Warwickshire Police, said: "John Brown was a kind, gentle, hardworking man whose loss has left a huge void in the lives of his loved ones and friends. "Not only was he loved greatly by all those around him, he was known internationally as one of the best restorers of classic Jaguars. "The legacy he leaves is not only in the love and generosity he showed to those around him, but also in the countless classic cars that will survive for generations more thanks to his work. Knife-related robberies in high-risk areas have reduced, data shows
Robberies involving a knife, or the threat of one, have reduced in most of the UK's high-risk areas. According to Home Office data, knife-related robberies are down 6 per cent. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said this is a direct result of targeted police action. A dedicated police taskforce was set up in October last year focused on seven forces – Metropolitan Police Service, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Avon and Sommerset and British Transport Police. These areas had seen a steep rise in incidents between July 2023 and June 2024, accounting for 70 per cent of knife-enabled robbery at the time. Drones, knife arches and detection dogs are among the tactics being used in an attempt to bring down the number of incidents, with the forces also increasing visible patrols and the number of plain clothes officers on the streets. The West Midlands saw the largest drop, with a 25 per cent reduction in incidents in the past year. Meanwhile, Greater Manchester saw a 4 per cent increase in incidents in comparison to last year. Ms Cooper said: 'Since day one, we have acted with urgency to turn the tide on knife crime, which destroys lives and devastates communities. 'When we came to office, knife-enabled robbery was increasing at a concerning rate, but we have now started to drive numbers of those offences down through the work of our dedicated taskforces, and as a result, we have also seen the first small reduction in overall knife crime for four years. 'The drop in knife-enabled robbery in key problem areas shows the impact that our strong new action on knife crime is having, but we now need to supercharge these efforts through more smart and targeted interventions. 'Anyone can be a victim of knife crime, but new 'hex mapping' technology shows that the vast majority of knife crime is concentrated in a relatively small, hyper-concentrated number of areas. 'As part of the plan for change, we will use that new technology to support our mission to halve knife crime over the next decade. In the 2020s, the way to be tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime is also to be smart on crime, using the latest technology to target criminals and problem areas, and keep the country safe.' A ban on ninja swords also comes into force on Friday, as part of the government's commitment to halve knife crime in the next decade. At least a thousand of the weapons have been handed in as part of a surrender scheme. The government has also pledged to tackle the sale of weapons online, as part of Ronan's Law, which was introduced following the death of 16-year-old Ronan Kanda, who was murdered with a ninja sword bought online. This would require retailers to report bulk or suspicious knife orders to the police, put in place more stringent age-verification checks and impose significant fines on tech executives whose platforms fail to prevent illegal sales. Mother of Ronan, Pooja Kanda, said: 'Ronan was just 16 years old when his life was stolen by a 22-inch ninja sword that should never have been so easy to buy. Ronan's Law is not only a step towards justice for my son, but for every parent who wants to see their child come home safely. 'This law is about saving lives, closing dangerous loopholes, and holding those responsible to account. 'The government's knife surrender scheme has been a sign of commitment to tackling the scourge of knife crime. While there is still much more to do, these are significant steps in the right direction.' The Home Office has also said a 'surrender van' will be deployed at this year's Notting Hill Carnival. Conservative shadow home secretary Chris Philp said knife crime was 'spiralling out of control' and accused Labour of not wanting to talk about London and the 'utter failure of Sadiq Khan to tackle crime'. He said: 'Under Labour's Mayor, the capital has become Britain's knife crime capital, accounting for over 32 per cent of all knife crime and over 45 per cent of knife-point robberies in England. Stop and search has collapsed, yet Sadiq Khan spends more time pontificating than trying to make London safe. 'Labour are weak on crime, soft on criminals, and too scared to confront the reality on our streets. It's time for the Labour government and Labour Mayor to wake up and get a grip, or get out of the way.'
