All Creatures Great and Small casts two Coronation Street icons in huge series update
The much-loved series All Creatures Great and Small is set to return to Channel 5 this autumn. Its sixth series will feature a star-studded cast, including two Coronation Street legends.
Chris Gascoyne, known for his role as Peter Barlow, is among the famous faces joining the upcoming series of All Creatures Great and Small.
He will be accompanied by Lucy-Jo Hudson, who portrayed Katy Harris in the ITV soap.
Gaia Wise, Jonathan Hyde, and Philip Martin Brown will join the Coronation Street stars, along with returning guest stars Mollie Winnard, Conor Deane, Cat Simmons, and Lamin Touray.
Nicholas Ralph will once again play the dedicated vet James Herriot, alongside Samuel West as the brilliant yet unpredictable business partner Siegfried Farnon, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Anna Madeley will reprise her role as the steadfast Mrs Hall, with Rachel Shenton returning as capable Helen Herriot, and Callum Woodhouse as the mischievous Tristan Farnon, still serving with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps.
Patricia Hodge will charm viewers as the elegant Mrs Pumphrey, joined by her beloved Pekingese, Tricki.
Also featuring are Tony Pitts as Helen's straight-talking father, Richard Alderson, and Imogen Clawson as her lively younger sister, Jenny.
The synopsis for the forthcoming series reveals: "Series 6 takes us back to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales for more heartwarming human and animal tales, but this time, we find our beloved Skeldale gang in a somewhat different situation as we join them in 1945, just as the war in Europe is coming to a close.
"We arrive back in Darrowby to veterinary advancements, expanded families, and new faces as they all look ahead to a brighter and more peaceful future.
"This series will see Herriot's wonderful characters navigating the opportunities that a new world brings, a host of animals great and small, and of course, each other."
Chris Gascoyne departed Coronation Street on December 26, 2023, following 23 years portraying the character.
His concluding scenes witnessed Peter departing Weatherfield after becoming embroiled in serial killer Stephen Reid's demise, resulting in his split from on-screen love interest Carla Connor.
Chris announced his exit in July 2023 to explore fresh opportunities and dedicate more time to his loved ones, although the programme has hinted that a comeback remains possible.
All Creatures and Great and Small will air on Channel 5.

Sinister Theo scenes in Coronation Street as Todd is left reeling by demand
Coronation Street viewers have started to spot some worrying behaviour from Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce)'s boyfriend Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), as a nastier side to the character has begun to emerge. Theo is dealing with a very complex situation. Having made the decision to accept that he's gay and move forward in a relationship with Todd, Theo has had to navigate splitting up with his wife Danielle (Natalie Anderson) and trying to maintain a relationship with his two children. This has been made more complicated by a character called Noah (Richard Winsor), who is part of a church group that seeks to 'save' gay people by putting them through conversion therapy. This is something Theo has endured in the past and it's left him with severe trauma. Noah is now living with Danielle and the children, which is a horrific situation for Theo. Todd has been trying to help Theo through all of this, but there have been signs that Theo's behaviour towards Todd is tipping towards being controlling. Gareth Pierce told us last month: 'I think at this point, we're starting to spot some anger management issues on Theo's part, at the very least. There's some flashes of anger that have left Todd shocked but equally, because he's had that insight into the conversion therapy and where Theo is coming into this new life from, he's perhaps willing to guide him through it. 'I think Todd has spotted many things from Theo, but he still has the mindset that he can fix this and because of the love that's there, he's thinking they will get through it. Our audience are probably also spotting some of those flashes of jealousy and perhaps a kind of need to control that maybe Todd is not currently spotting or doesn't want to spot.' In upcoming episodes that jealousy and control becomes more overt and leads Theo to issue an ultimatum to Todd. Theo is irritated when he hears from Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) that she's hosting drinks in memory of her brother Paul (Peter Ash), who died last year. She says Todd will be there with Billy (Daniel Brocklebank). Later, Theo emotionally blackmails Todd into staying at home with him rather than going out to the pub. The next day when Billy sees Theo's son Miles (Lewis William Magee) accompanying Noah in handing out leaflets in the street, he tries to reason with the boy. He warns him that he's being brainwashed by some bad people and he needs to realise which people in his life truly care about him. More Trending Theo is obviously jealous of the close bond between Todd and Billy, and Billy's interference in his son's life – however well intentioned – tips him over the edge. Furious, Theo tells Todd that he doesn't want him seeing Billy any more, and says he must choose between them. Todd can't believe what he's hearing, but Theo is deadly serious. Unless Todd cuts Billy out of his life entirely, things are over between him and Theo. View More » What will Todd do? Fate of Celebrity Big Brother revealed by ITV after scandal-ridden series - and it's bad news for fans
The future of Celebrity Big Brother has been revealed following the latest scandal-ridden series, and it doesn't bring great news for fans. ITV boss Kevin Lygo confirmed on Thursday that both Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother will be back on ITV beyond 2025 - but it won't be on the main channel. The ITV Studios managing director branded the much-loved celebrity spin-off 'a really crucial and important show' which 'does a tremendous job for us'. Yet, bosses have now considered the series 'not on the proper [ITV1] channel' for its celebrity version. 'It is difficult to book big celebrities, which is what we need on the main channel. You can go more interesting and a bit more niche on ITVX and ITV2. He finished assuring: 'Yes, it will be coming back.' While this year's CBB saw Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd crowned champion, the show's highest-paid signing Mickey Rourke made the most headlines, sparking huge backlash when he made a homophobic comment to housemate JoJo Siwa. The Hollywood star was set to be paid a reported £500,000 for his time on the show, but he saw his fee reduced when he was later removed from the house for 'unnacceptable behaviour' towards housemate Chris Hughes. CBB finalist JoJo Siwa recently gushed that her boyfriend and co-star Chris Hughes is 'the brightest light in her life' after he took a huge step with her family. The couple cemented their relationship in May after meeting in the Celebrity Big Brother house in April, and have since documented their loved-up trips together on social media. And on Tuesday, JoJo shared an update on her relationship with her man, revealing 'it's going very well'. Appearing on Loose Women, the Dance Moms star, 22, said: 'He's the brightest light in my life, he's the thing that makes me the happiest.' Janet Street-Porter then asked what her family thought of Chris, with JoJo revealing: 'Oh, my mum absolutely adores him. 'My dad and he are best friends, my brother just asked him to be a groomsman in his wedding. 'My family has never loved somebody like this, like ever.' JoJo also recently revealed her plans to start a family 'aren't that far away,' as her romance with Chris heats up. After travelling to the UK to promote her new song Raspy, JoJo has told The Sun that she 'craves' motherhood in the future. She was previously forced to deny speculation she was pregnant after the wild theory circulated on TikTok. Asked whether she still wants children, she said: 'I crave them, I absolutely would love to have babies, it's absolutely in my future and I don't think it's that far away. 'I'm at a place in my life where my career by no means is slowing down, but my career is at a point where it works and it runs and I know how to do everything that I'm doing and I'm not learning anything new, so I'm at a great place with that. 'Obviously I have a great boy in my life, there's a lot of things to happen before then, but definitely want kids.' During the interview, JoJo also hinted that she and Chris have plans for a holiday together this autumn, after the star wraps her Infinity Heart tour in October. JoJo previously poked fun at rumours that she was pregnant in June after a loved-up TikTok video with boyfriend Chris sent fans wild with speculation. She asked her fans to play the game '2 truths & a lie' - before she read out three statements, one being a lie and the other two being truthful. She then said: '1. I've never smoked a [cigarette] 2. I'm pregnant 3. This song comes out on Spotify Friday.' JoJo was playing into online speculation that she could be expecting after Chris gently rubbed his finger over her tummy during a recent TikTok video.

I moved from a ‘rough' council estate to a mansion but my neighbour was vile to me for being too common
Plus, how the entrepreneur went from being a single mother living in a council house to raking in a whopping £1.8million a year CRUEL COMMENTS I moved from a 'rough' council estate to a mansion but my neighbour was vile to me for being too common Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A WOMAN who previously lived on a rough council estate and moved to a 'posh area' has said her 'vile' neighbour was rude to her for being too common. Terri-Ann Nunns, 41, from Doncaster, who previously starred on Channel 5's Rich House, Poor House as a self-made millionaire, said she was 'happier' on the council estate. 3 Self-made millionaire Terri-Ann Nunns opened up about moving from a council estate to a mansion - and how her posh neighbour was vile to her Credit: Tiktok/terriann_nunns 3 Terri Ann claims her neighbour's actions forced her to move house Credit: Instagram/TerriAnn_Nunns After creating a successful diet plan and having a budget of £1,200 a week with her husband Michael, and their three kids, Terri-Ann moved into her 'dream' mansion. However, things were not all rosy as the person living next to her made her life a living hell. The six-bedroom mansion had come with a cinema room and a swanky bar, but the dream ended when she was forced to sell the property and move out. In a TikTok video on her @terriann_nunns account, she said: 'We bought this house, and then I had offices built in the back garden, it was just amazing. 'But then I had a new neighbor and he were a doctor and he weren't very nice. 'I think personally he could not stand the fact, like, I'm just me. I'm not posh, I'm just me. 'I'll never change, I've always been from a council estate, always been rough and ready, professional, but can be rough and ready as well. And he just couldn't stand us.' Terri-Ann claims tensions rose when he started moaning about her staff parking on the street. She added: 'I had a massive drive for everybody to park on, every staff member, but because they're coming at different times, one of them would get blocked in. 'So they just thought, 'we'll park on street.' So one of my staff argued with him. Anne and Mick Ross look around the Nunn's six-bed house on Rich House Poor House 'He nudged her, it was vile. 'Honestly, I just think he just couldn't stand the fact that we weren't posh. We were just, like, normal.' Terri-Ann said she suspects her neighbour ended up phoning the council to say she was running a commercial business out of her home. She continued: 'I don't know, he just hated us. 'And then when the council got involved, basically the reason I had to move out the house because they said I couldn't run my business from there. 'So I'd spent £40,000 on this office being built in the back garden, and the council turned around and said you're using your property as a commercial property which we weren't. 'We had the big house and the thing at the back garden. Anyway, I said I'm not staying here. 'I'm not staying here and not being able to run my business. It's just not worth it, what we've invested. 'So we sold the house, made money from it, sold the house and bought the one that's on Rich House, Poor House.' 3 The Nunns outside their six-bedroom mansion on Rich House, Poor House Credit: Emporium Productions Ltd SNOBBY COMMENTS Terri-Ann insists she's proud of her success, but claims often people who have had a privileged upbringing 'look down' on those who haven't had that. Many people were quick to praise the entrepreneur on her success in the comments. One said: 'Girl I feel you, I miss the estate so bad! Way to snooty round here.' Another added: 'Love to see my own kind of people getting along in life good on you. sounds like the neighbour was very bitter and jealous of you.' BUSINESS SUCCESS Terri-Ann made her fortune through her Terri-Ann New You Plan, and regularly shares her top tricks for her own drastic body transformation. She went from being a single mother living in a council house to raking in a whopping £1.8million a year. On her Rich House, Poor House episode, her family swapped their six-bedroom home with struggling Anne and Mick Ross, who lived off £200 a week. During the episode, Terri-Ann admitted she may have been happier in her life before her success, saying: 'We're probably less happy now. 'I have to work loads of hours, and neglect Michael (her husband) a little bit, and obviously it's clear I neglect my kids because they told me all this week.'
