Nebraska to host class of 2026 defensive back
Nebraska football will get a visit from a top corner target, as Danny Odem will visit the Huskers from June 20-22nd. This was reported by HuskerOnline's Bryan Munson on Sunday. (Subscription needed)
Odem is a three-star corner. According to the On3 Recruiting Rankings, he is the 50th overall corner in the 2026 class and the 97th overall player in his class from the state of Florida. Odem previously spoke highly of coach Matt Rhule earlier this month and has a strong relationship with defensive backs coach Addison Williams.
The corner recorded 45 tackles, two interceptions, three pass deflections, and a fumble recovery in his junior season. He also played on the offensive side of the football and tallied five receptions for 40 yards on the year, according to statistics from Maxpreps.com.
The Huskers 2026 recruiting class ranks 32nd overall nationally, per the On3 Team Recruiting rankings. Odem would be the second player from Florida in the class, joining CJ Bronaugh as the other one.
It will be interesting to see where Nebraska falls in this commitment. The Florida connections of the Huskers coaching staff undoubtedly play a role here. His strong relationship with Rhule could also be beneficial. Nebraska undoubtedly has a chance to make a strong impression during the June visit.

Nebraska volleyball freshman Campbell Flynn named 2025 Michigan Female Athlete of the Year
Nebraska volleyball freshman Campbell Flynn named 2025 Michigan Female Athlete of the Year A Nebraska volleyball freshman has picked up another major award before her freshman season even begins. Setter Campbell Flynn is now the 2025 Michigan Female Athlete of the Year. Flynn received the award from the Detroit Athletic Club following a tremendous senior season at Mercy High School. She joined Michigan freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood, who won the award for male athlete of the year. The Oakland, Michigan native recorded 730 assists and 180 digs in her final year with the Marlins, leading the team to a 31-3 season and the Division I regional semifinals. She also delivered 131 kills, 52 blocks and 36 service aces to earn a .394 hitting percentage. Flynn also played for the U.S. U21 Women's National Team that won the gold medal at the NORCECA Championships last summer. Flynn won the Michigan Female Athlete of the Year award to accompany her second-straight Gatorade National Player of the Year award. She is the sixth Gatorade National Player of the Year to don the scarlet and cream. Other Huskers include Harper Murray (2022-23), Ally Batenhorst (2020-21), Lexi Sun (2016-17), Mikaela Foecke (2014-15), and Gina Mancuso (2008-09). Flynn is already taking command with the Huskers, racking up 67 assists, 11 digs, four kills, and four blocks in both of Nebraska's spring matches. With two-time All-American and two-time Big Ten setter of the year Bergen Riley still on the roster, Flynn's playing time could be heavily impacted heading into this season. The Huskers will begin the 2025 volleyball season on Friday, August 22, when Nebraska hosts Pittsburgh as part of the AVCA First Serve Showcase.
