Abraham Lincoln's possessions sell for millions as bloodstained gloves top auction
An auction of the personal belongings of President Abraham Lincoln featured one rare item that caught the attention of many.
A pair of gloves that were in Lincoln's pocket at Ford's Theatre the night he was shot drew in the largest bid, The Associated Press reported.
The bloodstained gloves are made out of leather and went for $1.52 million, including a buyer's premium fee.
Of the 144 items up for auction by Freeman's/Hindman in Chicago, 136 were sold.
The auction was held to fund payments on a loan from 20 years ago that was taken out by the Lincoln Presidential Foundation.
Another item that was found in Lincoln's possession the night of his assassination was a handkerchief — which sold for $826,000.
Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth on the night of April 14, 1865, while attending the play, "Our American Cousin."
Also included in the auction was a "wanted" poster showing the three suspects in the assassination, including Wilkes Booth.
The item sold for $762,500.
A notebook showcasing Lincoln's handwriting from 1824 went for $521,200.
It's reportedly the earliest known sample of his handwriting, according to AP.
The artifacts came apart from the foundation's 1,540-item assemblage purchased in 2007 from Louise Taper for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, AP reported.
In total, the auction raised $7.9 million, including the 28% buyers' premium on each sale.

Dem Golden Boy Abrego Garcia Returns
Well the Democrats got their wish, their martyr Kilmar Abrego Garcia returned to the US to face charges. I'm Tomi Lahren, more next. The Democrats' golden boy Kilmar Abrego Garcia was brought back to the US from his home country of El Salvador to face charges including human trafficking here in Tennessee. In an interview with NBC News, President Trump said it wasn't his decision to bring Abrego Garcia back to the US but that the DOJ decided to do it that way and that's fine. I can't help but think what a giant waste of US taxpayers dollars it was to fly him all the way back here, go through the rigamarole of criminal charges, pay for his room and board, all to send him right back to his home country of El Salvador. But THIS is what the Democrats want. They'll do anything to keep their illegal aliens in your community and they'll waste your hard earned money to do it and stretch out the process as long as possible. This is the hill they're willing to die on and this is the man they're willing to defend till the end. A man who was here illegally for years, has credible allegations of gang affiliation, protective orders from his wife, and actual footage of his alleged human trafficking. Ladies and gentlemen, the Democrat Party is for they/them and Abrego Garcia, not for you! I'm Tomi Lahren and you watch my show 'Tomi Lahren is Fearless' at Learn more about your ad choices. Visit

Teen murdered in Brickell high-rise was stabbed to death as he slept, Miami police say
A teen who was murder over the weekend at a Brickell luxury high-rise was stabbed to death as he slept, according to new information released by Miami police. Sunday morning, around 2 a.m., officers were sent to the Icon Brickell complex, at 485 Brickell Avenue, after police received word of a stabbing. In an apartment on the 34th floor, they found the body of 17-year-old Dominic Ferrell. Stabbing suspect found dead nearby Investigators reviewed surveillance tape video, which showed one man running away from the building, according to police. SWAT officers searched a nearby building still under construction and found the suspect dead. He's been identified as 26-year-old Kyrill R. Kehl. "The suspect leaves the apartment building and goes across the street to a construction site and goes at least 100 to 200 feet and then jumps or falls to his death," Miami police Officer Michael Vega said. What led to the stabbing According to police, Kehl loitered in the lobby for a while before getting on an elevator. "We know the suspect was in the lobby for a bit before some residents went on the elevator. He tagged along with them and went up to the 40 something floor and knocked on several doors and tried to open the doors. He eventually goes down to the 34th floor and goes to the victim's door. He then goes to the bedroom where the 17 year old is sleeping and stabs him to death," Vega said. Investigators said another person was also asleep in the apartment where Ferrell was killed. According to police, Kehl arrived in South Florida from Arizona two days before the stabbing. He was not staying at the Brickell complex. Investigators are trying to piece together what led to the stabbing. "We know there may have been some mental health issues probably leading to this but until we get toxicology results we will not know what was in his system," Vega said. He added that Kehl and Ferrel were strangers. "We know for a fact that they did not know each other. They were strangers and this guy was just going from apartment to apartment, opening and knocking on doors, so again it is very important to lock your doors and do not open them to strangers," Vega said.
