Two people barred from owning, caring for, or living with animals for three years in Chatham-Kent
On July 8, court found the individuals guilty of permitting distress to animals.
Both were fined $1,000 and are not allowed to own, have custody or care of, or live with animals for three years. This order doesn't apply to the two dogs living with one of the charged.

Suspects caught with suspected drugs; charges laid: SPS

A police officer that was on patrol, was at a grocery store and said they saw two people in a 'concealed position' behind a dumpster in the marking lot. When police approached, two men were seen. The first man was sat on the ground with a fresh piece of foil, according to the Sarnia Police Service, and looked like they were about to smoke an 'illicit substance'. The man got startled and spilled the substance on the ground, and it was unrecoverable. The SPS confirmed one of the men was bound by two probation orders and a judicial release order. Both had conditions to not go to that specific grocery store, a news release outlined. A 63-year-old Sarnia man of no fixed address was served a trespassing offence notice. The second man, 41, of no fixed address, was held for bail on four counts of breach of probation and failure to comply with a release order. The SPS said the 41-year-old man has been arrested seven times since August 2024, has been charged with breach of probation 18 times, and this marked the 33rd interaction with police.

Wanted man arrested in northern Ont. after police chase, ramming cruisers

(File photo/CTV News) A 28-year-old Amherstburg man has been arrested and charged following a multi-police pursuit in North Bay involving the Windsor Police Service, North Bay Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police. The accused faces charges including drug trafficking, flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a vehicle and failure to comply with a probation order. The details At about 7:15 p.m. on July 29, the North Bay Police Service was alerted by Windsor Police regarding an active investigation. The suspect also had an outstanding warrant from a prior North Bay incident for fleeing police and cocaine trafficking. Officers located the man in North Bay and attempted to stop his vehicle using two police cruisers. 'When officers attempted to stop and contain his vehicle using two police cruisers, the accused rammed the vehicles and fled the scene,' police said in a news release. OPP officers, including the canine unit, assisted in tracking the suspect. He was later apprehended without further incident and transported back to North Bay, where he was formally charged. Police search for man wanted for murder after three bodies found in Ontario town
Police say they are on the lookout for a Ontario man wanted for murder after three bodies were found in a burned-down home.
