The New York Knicks have had an interesting offseason thus far. While they haven't shaken up the roster much, they have made a couple of key additions.
Both Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele were signed in NBA free agency. They will both be asked to handle key roles off of the bench.
In addition to the two impactful outside roster moves, the Knicks made a change on the sideline. Tom Thibodeau was fired after New York was defeated by the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. To replace him, the team brought in Mike Brown.

With that in mind, New York should remain active in looking for more depth.
One name to keep an eye on could be former No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons. He is still available on the free agency market and the Knicks have been connected as a possible suitor.
CBS Sports analyst Sam Quinn took a look at the top remaining free agents and their best fit. When it came to Simmons, he stated his belief that New York was the top potential landing spot.
"How about the Knicks? The key to maximizing Simmons will be surrounding him with shooting. The Knicks have a shooting big man in Karl-Anthony Towns. The reserves they added this offseason, Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele, can both shoot. Perhaps New York could lean on Simmons as a creator when Jalen Brunson goes to the bench," Quinn wrote.
"He gives them yet another big wing to deploy defensively, and if they want to switch as much as they did in the later stages of the postseason, Simmons can do so. The pressure of Madison Square Garden is a potential issue, but we're talking about a 10-15-minute reserve here, not a star. It's a low-risk, high-reward gamble."

Simmons has never been able to live up to the hype of being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. He has had some injury issues in recent years, but his confidence took a major hit with the Philadelphia 76ers as well.
Last season, Simmons played in 51 games and made 24 starts between the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers. He averaged five points per game to go along with 5.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds.
While Simmons may not be a star, he could end up being a great pickup for the Knicks' second unit should they choose to pursue him.

Rookie Agustín Ramírez hits two solo homers as Miami Marlins beat New York Yankees 2-0

Rookie Agustín Ramírez homered twice for the only runs of the game and the Miami Marlins beat the New York Yankees 2-0 on Saturday. Eury Pérez pitched six innings of two-hit ball as the Marlins won their fourth straight and clinched the series against the Yankees following Friday's 13-12 series-opening win. After experiencing problems with his pitchcom device that caused three brief delays in the first inning, Pérez (4-3) struck out six and walked three in his 88-pitch outing. Relievers Ronny Henriquez and Tyler Phillips followed Pérez with perfect innings before Calvin Faucher retired the three batters he faced in the ninth for his 11th save. Miami has won six consecutive series and is 29-14 since June 13. The Marlins struck quickly when Ramírez connected off Yankees starter Cam Schlittler in the first. Ramírez drove a fastball 421 feet into the left-center field seats for his 16th homer. Ramírez hit another solo drive against Schlittler (1-2) in the fourth. Making his fourth major league start since being promoted from Triple-A on July 9, Schlittler allowed two runs and four hits while striking out six in five innings. Saturday's announced attendance of 34,645 surpassed the Marlins' previous season-home high of 32,299 in Friday's opener against New York. Pérez struck out Ryan McMahon and retired Anthony Volpe on a groundout after he allowed a one-out double to Ben Rice and walked Paul Goldschmidt in the fifth. Marlins left fielder Kyle Stowers had his sixth assist of the season when he threw out Trent Grisham at the plate as he attempted to score from second on Giancarlo Stanton's single in the first. RHP Luis Gil will make his season debut when he starts the series finale for the Yankees on Sunday. The reigning AL Rookie of the Year has been sidelined since spring training because of a lat strain. The Marlins will go with RHP Edward Cabrera (4-5, 3.35).

Former Boston Celtics big man Guerschon Yabusele on why he signed with the New York Knicks

Former Boston Celtics big man Guerschon Yabusele has carved out a role for himself in the NBA since coming back over from Europe to join the Philadelphia 76ers last season. He has since gone on to become one of the NBA's more desired role players in free agency this summer, eventually settling on signing with the New York Knicks. Drafted by the Celtics in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft at No. 16 overall, the Dancing Bear (as he is sometimes called for a nickname) had to wait a season playing abroad with the Shanghai Sharks in the CBA before he joined Boston for his first crack at sticking in the NBA, but was clearly not quite ready for the speed and physicality of the game in the states. But Yabu (another, more obvious nickname) has since found his footing at the NBA level, and looks poised to spread his wings in the Big Apple next season. He recently took some time to talk it over with the hosts of the "Roommates Show," who happen to be his Knicks teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. Check it out below!
