Uber driver turns car into 1BHK on wheels, wins hearts online
A woman's Uber ride has gone viral after she shared photos of an unusually well-equipped car that felt more like a cozy one-bedroom apartment than a cab. Posting on X, she wrote, ' Literally travelling in a 1BHK today. Hands down the coolest Uber ride ever! '
The images revealed an impressively organised interior that left social media users stunned. The driver, Abdul Qadeer, had transformed his car into a passenger's paradise — complete with cold drinks, snacks, tissues, basic medicines, toys, and even a mini dustbin. Shelves and holders were neatly attached to the front seats, making every item easy to access.
From chocolates and biscuits to toothbrushes, umbrellas, and tablets like Digene and Disprin, the car was stocked like a mini convenience store on wheels. Each item was labelled with care, offering comfort, convenience, and a touch of creativity during the commute.
In one photo, a donation box for children's education hung behind the passenger seat. Just above it, a sign proudly displayed that free Wi-Fi was available in the car, with the password written out for riders.
The car even included a feedback diary, inviting passengers to share their thoughts both offline and on the Uber app.
A motivational Urdu quote added a poetic touch:
' Musalasal gham uthane se kahin behtar hai kinara kar liya jaye kinara karne walo se.' (' It's better to distance yourself from those who constantly bring sorrow. ')

Abu Dhabi's first electric flying taxi could be taking off before the end of 2025
Get ready for takeoff. The UAE is inching closer to the flying taxi future we've all been waiting for, with Archer Aviation announcing that trial flights for its all-electric air taxi, Midnight, are set to launch in Abu Dhabi before the end of 2025. That's right, electric aircraft – also known as eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles) – could soon be zipping above the capital, offering short-hop urban transport that's as green as it is futuristic. Speaking at the Make it in the Emirates Forum, Dr. Talib Alhinai, Archer's General Manager, confirmed the milestone marks a major leap for the UAE's urban air mobility ambitions. Credit: Designed to carry four passengers and a pilot, the Midnight aircraft lifts off and lands like a helicopter but cruises like a plane. With 12 electric motors, a fixed wing and clever engineering that transitions from vertical to horizontal flight in just 45 seconds, this little aircraft packs a serious high-tech punch. Oh, and it's 100 percent electric. Initial test flights will begin in unpopulated areas, gradually expanding into urban airspace as part of a phased rollout. While there's no set date yet for when you'll be able to hail one like a flying Uber, the groundwork is very much in motion. Archer has also opened a new manufacturing hub in Georgia, USA, with a current capacity of 650 aircraft a year and ambitious plans to scale up to 2,400. And yes, a potential UAE-based production facility is in the works too. A framework agreement has already been signed with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office to set up a local research centre and explore manufacturing options. From the looks of it, the sky isn't the limit – it's the next commute.

Train strike sparks travel mess in New York area
Travel Chaos for commuters The strike commenced just after midnight when contract negotiations fell apart, leaving many commuters unaware that train services were suspended. Travelers scrambled to find alternative transportation across the Hudson River, facing steep fares for options like Uber or Amtrak, where a ticket to Manhattan can cost up to $98. Long commutes and concert disruptions Commuters like Laura Pejo, 68, faced lengthy detours, with her usual 35-40 minute commute extending to nearly three hours. The strike also affected concert-goers heading to MetLife Stadium for a Shakira concert and upcoming Beyoncé shows, as train services to the venue were suspended. Union actions and Wage disputes Members of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) picketed outside rail stations, criticizing NJ Transit executives for high salaries while train drivers have gone five years without a raise. The union is advocating for contracts that align engineers' wages with those of the Long Island Rail Road. Negotiation updates NJ Transit officials indicated that the wage increase sought by the union could impose substantial costs on the company and taxpayers. Governor Phil Murphy noted that while an agreement was not reached, discussions remained cordial. NJ Transit CEO Kris Kolluri expressed optimism, stating that they were "95 percent there" in negotiations. Impact of the strike The strike is expected to primarily disrupt daily commutes for approximately 70,000 New York-bound passengers, along with many others utilizing NJ Transit's extensive network. The last statewide transit strike occurred in 1983 and lasted for 34 days.
