QUEEN Elizabeth's grandson Peter Phillips has announced his engagement to girlfriend Harriet Sperling.
Peter, Princess Anne's eldest son, will marry Harriet after dating the NHS paediatric nurse for one year.

The couple are yet to set a date for the wedding but have informed the King and Queen today of their engagement.
Prince William and the Princess of Wales were also informed ahead of today's announcement.
The couple said in a statement: "Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today confirmed their official engagement.
"Both families were informed jointly of the announcement and were delighted with the wonderful news of their engagement.
"Their Majesties The King and Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales have been informed of the announcement.
"No date has been officially set for the wedding."
Peter and Harriet revealed their relationship last May when they were spotted strolling hand-in-hand at Badminton Horse Trials in Gloucestershire.
Their romance came about just weeks after the royal split from his previous partner Lindsay Wallace.
Since their sighting last May, the smitten pair have been spotted at a number of high society events together including Wimbledon and Cheltenham Races.
Peter has two daughters - Savannah, 14, and Isla, 13, from his previous 12-year marriage to Autumn Kelly.
Anne rejected royal titles for her two children, meaning neither Peter nor Zara are "working royals", unlike their cousins, including Prince William, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
After splitting from Autumn in 2020, Peter had a three-year relationship with Scottish divorcee Lindsay before meeting Harriet.

Calvin Harris has announced that he and partner Vick Hope welcomed their first child together last month in a heartwarming Instagram post. The DJ, 41, and TV presenter Vick, 35, welcomed a baby son on July 20 but have been so wrapped up in their love bubble, they only decided to announce the joyous news today. Taking to Instagram on Monday, One Kiss hitmaker Calvin shared the very first picture of his newborn son and announced the beautifully unique name the couple have chose for their first-born child. Alongside an adorable photo of the couple's newborn baby cuddling into his dad's chest, Calvin wrote: "20th of July our boy arrived. Micah is here! My wife is a superhero and I am in complete awe of her primal wisdom! Just so grateful. We love you so much Micah." In the collection of photos Calvin shared announcing the birth of Micah, it was revealed that Vick had a water birth as photos showed her in a blue birthing pool surrounded by candles. The new mum gave birth to her son outside on a balcony, and with an incredible view in front of her as greenery and trees surrounded them. Proud dad Calvin was there for every minute of it and was by Vick's side when their son came into the world. One sweet picture shows Calvin kneeling down beside his partner seemingly just seconds after Micah was born. The Scottish DJ's Instagram post also featured a 'jump scare' as he posted a picture of Vick's placenta before going on to post more pictures of how the couple preserved it.

Much-loved Instagram feature is no longer available to millions after overnight
Meta has removed a popular function from Instagram for millions of users. Instagram Live was introduced in 2016, allowing anyone to broadcast an hour-long video stream to their followers or a room of three guests. But Meta, which also owns Facebook and WhatsApp, quietly updated its rules last month to restrict who can go live. Instagram's Help Center states: 'Only Instagram users who have a public account with 1,000 followers or more will be able to start a Live broadcast.' Now, users who don't have public accounts and have fewer than 1,000 followers will be greeted by a pop-up when they try to go live. 'Your account is no longer eligible to go Live,' it says. Around one in four Instagram users have fewer than 1,000 followers. With some 2billion monthly users, this amounts to about 250million people. Social media experts have criticised the move, saying that the shift will likely impact smaller content creators, aspiring influencers and regular people who use the feature to chat with close friends. Media consultant Chad Teixeira told Metro: 'For smaller creators and aspiring influencers, it's a bit of a bittersweet change. 'Live was a fun, casual way to connect without overthinking, perfect for showing personality and building those first loyal followers. 'Now, it's all about hitting that magic 1,000 before you can beam yourself out in real time. Think of it as Instagram nudging you to focus on Reels, Stories, and Collabs first, then unlocking Live later. 'It's not the end of the road for breakout stars, just a shift in the journey. Creators can still grow by leaning into short, snackable content, jumping into collaborations, and building community in DMs and comments.' One said on X: 'Can't go live cause I don't have 1,000 followers, b***h, I don't even like 1,000 people.' Becky added: 'Can't do live videos on Instagram anymore without 1,000 followers, what the actual f**k, that's so unfair, I only have 118 followers.' A user who said they often do live streams of themselves playing games said their most recent broadcast was 'prob my last'. 'I enjoyed just popping in once in a while and not feeling the pressure other apps force on you,' they added. The social network did not give a reason for the change when approached by TechCrunch, other than to 'improve the overall Live consumption experience'. Teixeira said Meta may have to 'reduce spam and align with other platforms' thresholds'. More Trending The rule brings Instagram's live feature more in line with TikTok's as the short-form video app also requires users to have 1,000 followers or more. YouTube, meanwhile, only asks channels to have 50 subscribers or more to go live. Meta has been approached for comment.
