A car looks to have come off the road and collided with trees and folliage near the bridge that crosses over a walkway.

Traffic is still able to pass on Briggate.

INDYCAR Driver 'Happy to Not Get Hit' While Stuck in Blind Spot
In the closing laps of the Java House Grand Prix at Laguna Seca, INDYCAR driver Marcus Ericsson high-centered on the exit of turn six, lost control, and slid into the gravel and back onto the racing surface before stalling. He then sat there for several laps trying to get the race restarted while the course was under a local yellow in his sector. INDYCAR on Fox broadcaster James Hinchcliffe noted on the replay of Ericsson's crash that he was lucky to stop and not go further into the racing line to get collected by the full-speed traffic at the time of the incident. "So lucky to not continue going driver's left and be collected by another car," Hinchcliffe said. "That could've been much, much worse." The problem was that Ericsson was marooned, unable to start, sidelined on the asphalt as drivers continued, not seeing the No. 28 Andretti Global until they were within a few yards of it. The INDYCAR on Fox broadcast showed a portion of the course from Pato O'Ward's helmet cam, highlighting just how close the drivers were before Ericsson came into view. The full-course yellow was thrown after several laps, and the Andretti of Ericsson was brought back to the pits for a DNF with heavy damage to the floor of the race car. When Ericsson was first released from the race care center and asked if he thought the yellow was thrown late, he said he didn't know since he was too focused on getting his car going. "I don't know," Ericsson answered Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass, "I was just trying to get the car started again, that was my main focus." Following the race, Ericsson posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he was happy to be safe following being stuck in a blind spot for multiple laps. "Happy to not get hit whilst sitting at a blind spot on the track for 3 laps..." Ericsson wrote. "Onto Portland." Overturned big rig leaking fuel creates massive traffic backup on 14 Freeway in Agua Dulce
An overturned big rig leaking fuel on the 14 Freeway in Agua Dulce created a massive traffic backup on Sunday. The crash happened just before 5 p.m. on northbound lanes near the Agua Dulce Canyon Road offramp, according to the California Highway Patrol. It's unclear what caused the crash, but as of 8 p.m. there were no reports of arrests. No injuries were reported in the incident. A SigAlert was issued at around 6 p.m., shutting down all northbound lanes until the road could be cleared and hazardous materials teams could respond to investigate the fuel spill. Massachusetts man recounts trying to fight off carjacking suspect later caught in Rhode Island
A carjacking suspect was arrested in Rhode Island Friday night after police said he stole a man's car from his driveway in Newburyport, Massachusetts earlier in the day. At around 3 p.m. on Friday, 77-year-old Michael Doyle said he was returning home and getting out of his car on High Street when a man, now identified by police as 46-year-old David Agneta, walked onto his driveway and started making demands. "He said, 'Give me those keys' and I said no," said Doyle. He claimed Agneta then grabbed his hand "and we were having kind of a tug of war, I guess, because I was still in shock. And the keys slipped out of my hand or his and I fell over backwards with my bad knee." Agneta then allegedly shoved Doyle to the ground, took his keys and drove off with his car. Doyle said he was unable to fight back because he recently had knee replacement surgery. "I was on my back and I couldn't get up if I wanted to," recalled Doyle. "My wife threw a bucket of water at him but of course that didn't help much." Police said Doyle was treated at the scene by paramedics. "Thank god he wasn't armed because I was hopeless," said Doyle. "He could have stabbed me 15 times. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect someone to come walking across my lawn with malice in his mind." Rhode Island State Police arrested Agneta more than 100 miles away from Newburyport in Exeter, Rhode Island Friday night and charged him with possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Newburyport Police have charged him with two counts of carjacking and assault and battery on an elderly or disabled person. Agneta is expected to be arraigned in court Monday morning in Rhode Island. He'll be brought back to Massachusetts at a later date to be arraigned on those charges.
