A Civilizational Journey Through Art
Jamal Joratli, born in Syria and trained in Europe, blends Eastern artistic heritage with European classicism and modern abstraction. His layered canvases reflect the personal experiences of immigrants, turning memory into a shared visual language.
'Every painting is a journey,' said Joratli. 'From Syria to Athens, Florence to New York, my work reflects a meeting of worlds. Through art, I build bridges - not borders.'

Music Icon, 80, Reveals the Woman Who Healed Him After Heartbreaking Splits
Music Icon, 80, Reveals the Woman Who Healed Him After Heartbreaking Splits originally appeared on Parade. Rod Stewart opened up about his past marriages and how his current relationship has brought him a sense of healing and completeness he never thought he would find again. The music icon has been married to English model Penny Lancaster for 18 years and their romance is still going strong. In an interview with The Times, he talked about his two failed marriages and how they led him to meet the love of his life. The singer-songwriter's first wife was former model and actress Alana Hamilton, whom he married in 1979. The couple, who had a daughter, Kimberly and a son, Sean, separated in 1984. Six years later, the 'Sailing' hitmaker married Rachel Hunter, with whom he had two children: daughter Renée and son Liam. Despite a 24-year age gap, their marriage lasted nine years before they filed for divorce in 1999. According to Stewart, the age difference was a factor in the breakdown of their relationship. He also revealed that the divorce was a painful chapter in his life. "Rachel left me because she was too young — my sister said I should never have married her in the first place — but it tore me to shreds," he revealed. However, the heartbreaking moment ultimately guided him toward his future wife, whom he met six months after his relationship with Hunter ended. "There were six months between Rachel and Penny because my bass player, who had Penny's number, wouldn't give it to me,' the legendary singer recalled. 'He said, 'All you're going to do now is shag around.' And he was right: I had a splendid time in those six months." With the rock star being with the 54-year-old TV personality for almost two decades now, he considers it a turning point in his life. "Now I'm with Penny and she's got everything I could possibly want," the 80-year-old singer said, adding, "She's mended my heart in more ways than one." The couple was blessed with two sons named Alastair Wallace Stewart and Aiden Patrick Stewart. Besides his children with his former wives and Penny Lancaster, Rod Stewart has a daughter named Ruby with ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg and his eldest daughter, Sarah Streeter, who was placed up for Icon, 80, Reveals the Woman Who Healed Him After Heartbreaking Splits first appeared on Parade on Jul 4, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jul 4, 2025, where it first appeared.

Bad Bunny imitates Trump's voice to criticize his immigration policies in new music video
Bad Bunny is celebrating the Puerto Rican diaspora and immigrant community this Fourth of July with a political statement. The Puerto Rican reggaeton star released the music video for "NUEVAYoL" off his latest album "DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS" on Friday morning, seemingly taking a stand against Donald Trump's anti-immigrant policies and rhetoric. Towards the end of the video, as people huddle around an old school radio, a voice meant to emulate Trump's very own can be heard saying: "I made a mistake. I want to apologize to the immigrants in America." "I'm in the United States. I know America is the whole continent," the faux Trump continues. "I want to say that this country is nothing without the immigrants. This country is nothing without Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans …" Recently, due to Trump's ongoing immigration crackdown, Southern California has been the epicenter of dozens of ICE raids since early June. On July 3, Congress passed Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill," which will allocate $45 billion for immigration detention centers as well as about $30 billion to hire more ICE personnel, for transportation costs and to maintain ICE facilities, according to NPR. Bad Bunny launches a political statement, making fun of President Donald Trump on the 4th of July. 🇵🇷 Bad Bunny features Puerto Rico flag across Statue of Liberty in music video It wouldn't be a Bad Bunny music video without giving a nod to his Puerto Rican heritage. In the music video, the 31-year-old also features a powerful image of the Puerto Rican flag against the Statue of Liberty's forehead. Bad Bunny ended the "NUEVAYoL" music video with another message: "Juntos Somos Más Fuertes" ("Together We Are Stronger"). Bad Bunny's latest album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" pays tribute to his Boricua roots and sees the singer incorporate traditional genres such as Plena, salsa and jibaro into his signature Latin urbano sound. The 17-track LP features collaborations with Puerto Rican acts including RaiNao, Omar Courtz and Dei V, and Los Pleneros de la Cresta. What happens now? Bad Bunny's residency is supercharging Puerto Rico's tourism. In honor of the album's release, Bad Bunny is hosting an estimated 600,000 concertgoers at his sold-out No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí concert residency, which will take place at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico from July 11 to Sept. 14. "The idea for the residency was always there, for as long as I can remember," Bad Bunny told Variety in an interview. "But it became difficult to ignore, the more time passed. I'll admit, it was hard to complete my last tour, because all I wanted to do was move into this chapter." Watch Bad Bunny's new music video for 'NUEVAYoL': In May, Bad Bunny announced a world tour for "DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS" − but to many fans' surprise, it excluded the U.S. The tour will kick off Nov. 21 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, before making its way through Latin America through late February. Bad Bunny will also perform in Sydney, Australia, for the first time, before a performance in Tokyo in March. He'll be hitting up Europe in June and July, visiting London, Marseille, Stockholm and Milan. Bad Bunny's residency is supercharging Puerto Rico's tourism With an estimated 600,000 attendees throughout the residency, the concert series is sparking what Glorianna Yamín, vice president of marketing at Discover Puerto Rico, called a "peak period for tourism." Halfway around the world, Hawaii's high levels of tourism are negatively impacting the islands. From overcrowded trails to traffic congestion, the Pacific islands have been actively seeking visitors who want to create a deeper connection with Hawaii. Puerto Rico, for its part, is paying attention. "It's definitely a change for the industry," Yamín told USA TODAY. "The entire tourism industry is getting ready." It's not just about the crowds. Discover Puerto Rico (DPR), the island's destination marketing organization, is using this moment to highlight the importance of responsible and sustainable tourism. Bad Bunny in Puerto Rico: Expect higher prices for flights, hotels this summer More: Bad Bunny fans won't want to leave Puerto Rico after visiting these 17 places "We are making sure that we're educating those visitors; first, so they behave as they should, but also so they're intrigued about our culture, our music, our history, our gastronomy … things Bad Bunny touches on in his album and already has momentum with," Yamín said. CD Projekt Red Announces ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2' at Anime Expo
CD Projekt Red is returning to the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners universe with a new stand-alone entry, which the game developer announced alongside the anime series' showrunner during a panel at Anime Expo on Friday. The video game developer will once again partner with the animation studio Trigger for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which, like its predecessor, will stream on Netflix. An official logo and poster art were shared as part of CD PROJEKT RED's 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners — Behind the Scenes With its Creators,' with a promise that later in the day, Trigger would tease new footage for the series at the Peacock Theater as part of its own panel. More from The Hollywood Reporter Netflix Is Shark-Attacking Discovery and Nat Geo This Summer The Front Man Speaks: 'Squid Game' Star Lee Byung-hun Unpacks His Character's Mysterious Inner Thoughts 'The Residence' Was Mostly Good, But It Didn't Quite Earn a Second Season The series will serve as a new 10-episode stand-alone story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, and asks the question: in a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence and when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes will you go to in order to make your story matter? Described as a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge, Edgerunners 2 will, according to the series' story writer and producer Bartosz Sztybor, not only be a sadder and darker take, but 'more bloody, and more raw.' 'Night City has a lot of stories to tell. I have a dream that it won't end with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. There's more stories, more characters,' he added about his decision to pursue another series. 'I wasn't satisfied with the sadness I received from the audience so I want you to be even more sad now.' Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will feature a new story and fresh characters, and while the series does not currently have a release date, it will be directed by Kai Ikarashi. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners director Hiroyuki Imaishi made a special appearance during the panel to pass the baton for Ikarashi's directorial debut on the series, after working together on the 2022 entry. Voice actors Emi Lo (Lucy Kushinada) and Zach Aguilar (David Martinez) also appeared on the panel, which saw cast and creatives take fans behind the scenes of the 2022 anime. Sztybor and Ikarashi will be joined on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 by lead character designer Kanno Ichigo and Masahiko Otsuka, who will be responsible for the screenplay adaptation. '[Cyberpunk: Edgerunner's] David [Martinez's] story might be over, but there's plenty more to discover in Night City. And to again have the legendary animation studio Trigger along for the ride makes us at CD Projekt Red so excited to introduce a raw, real chronicle of redemption and revenge, something unlike what we've done before,' Sztybor said in a statement.
