Kareena Kapoor Said Barack Obama Must Have Discussed Her Wedding With Saif: 'Sure He'd Know'
Actors Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan first crossed paths on the sets of Tashan in 2008. Their chemistry soon blossomed into love, and they eventually got married in 2012. However, before they tied the knot, their dating life often grabbed headlines, and fans were eager to know all the details about their nuptials. In an old interview with The Hindustan Times, Kareena said that this annoyed her and questioned why her wedding had become a topic of national interest.
Kareena Kapoor said, 'I have no idea as to why it is becoming national news. I think we should bring that up in the Rajya Sabha, as this is all that people care about. Mr Obama, too, should be discussing this wedding. I am sure he would know that Saif and Kareena are getting married, as that is what the whole of India is talking about."
She added, 'I mean, nobody is talking about inflation, the election and other important issues; all they want to know is when is the wedding, what are they wearing, what is the venue, who all are invited and so on. Honestly, it is terribly annoying, and now we have given up on clarifying it. We are in a committed relationship, and when we are getting married is for Saif and me to know."
However, when Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan finally decided to get married, they encountered significant challenges. Alongside the usual fanfare that surrounds Bollywood's most high-profile unions, the couple faced severe threats, including death threats and threats against their families. Nonetheless, the two stood firm in their decision, choosing to go ahead with a private ceremony.
Reflecting on the time, Saif Ali Khan had revealed to Rediff that Kareena's father, Randhir Kapoor, had received anonymous letters filled with threats, claiming that the family would be harmed, and even suggesting that their wedding venue could be targeted. However, Saif remained undeterred, drawing strength from his family's history. He recalled that his parents, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore, had also faced similar resistance during their interfaith marriage in the 1960s.
The couple tied the knot on October 16, 2012, at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba, Mumbai. They have been setting relationship goals ever since. Saif and Kareena decided to get married after living together for five years. The actress and the actor welcomed their first son, Taimur Ali Khan, in 2016 and their second son, Jeh Ali Khan, in 2021.

Son Ye Jin Shocked By No Other Choice Director Park Chan Wook's Blunt Reaction: ‘How Could He...'
Last Updated: Son Ye Jin revealed Park Chan Wook's unexpectedly blunt reaction to her dance practice on No Other Choice, leaving the actress stunned despite months of preparation. Son Ye Jin is no stranger to challenging roles, but even she wasn't prepared for director Park Chan Wook's famously high standards. The Crash Landing on You star, who headlines his upcoming film No Other Choice, recently revealed that the celebrated filmmaker left her stunned with a surprisingly blunt comment during a scene that required her to dance. Speaking at a production briefing in Yongsan, Seoul, on August 19, Son Ye Jin admitted that despite three months of intense practice, her performance didn't impress the Oldboy director. 'The director told me, 'I thought you'd be better since you said you practised so much,'" she recalled. 'Inside, I was like, 'How could he say that to me?' I had practised for nearly three months." Park Chan Wook's Brutal Honesty According to Son Ye Jin, Park Chan Wook didn't hold back his reaction, further remarking that her months of effort didn't seem to show in the final result. The actress admitted that the comment took her by surprise, highlighting just how demanding the acclaimed director can be with his cast, regardless of their experience or stature. The dance sequence in question was ultimately cut from the production, but the moment underscored the intense environment on set and Park's determination to bring out nothing short of perfection from his actors. 'It doesn't really show," the director reportedly told her, leaving the actress both shocked and amused in retrospect. A Big-Screen Return for Son Ye Jin No Other Choice marks Son Ye Jin's much-awaited return to cinema following her marriage to fellow actor Hyun Bin and the birth of their son in 2022. The film also stars Park Hee Soon, Lee Byung Hun, Lee Sung Min, Yeom Hye Ran, and Cha Seung Won, with the entire ensemble joining Park and Son at the press event. While the actress laughed off the memory during the briefing, the incident is a reminder of Park Chan Wook's uncompromising standards—something that has earned him international acclaim. Known for masterpieces like Oldboy and The Handmaiden, Park continues to challenge his actors, pushing them beyond their limits to achieve the vision he imagines. No Other Choice is set to have its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival on August 29, 2025, and anticipation is already sky-high. For Son Ye Jin, the project is more than just a comeback—it's another test of resilience under one of Korea's most exacting filmmakers.
