He said: "Obviously, we're all talking about it… congratulations on the relationship. We're all very excited.

Springwatch viewers fume as show airs gruesome scenes with 'no warning'

Springwatch viewers were left in shock after the BBC Two programme showed gruesome scenes without giving any warning Springwatch viewers have been left fuming after the show failed to warn them before airing gruesome scenes on the BBC Two show. The episode saw hosts Chris Packham and Dancing on Ice star Michaela Strachan update fans on a short-eared owl's nest, but things took a turn for the worst when one chick was "pecked to death" by its sibling. ‌ Addressing Springwatch viewers, Michaela said: "It seems like they were all being fed, and just yesterday I was saying that one was doing well. But I'm afraid in that nest things took a turn for the worst." ‌ Michaela admitted the team was "really surprised" upon telling viewers how one chick ate its sibling in "shocking" scenes. However, viewers were left horrified when the show went straight into the clip without any warning. "As you can see, that little one became week and defenceless, and that stronger sibling took complete advantage and started pecking at the younger one who was still alive." Apologising that it was hard to watch Michaela continued: "It pecked it to death. That was really surprising to us, because as Chris said they were fed four times." Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one shocked fan wrote: "Really dont think they should have shown the owl being eaten alive #Springwatch." ‌ Another said: "Got to love #Springwatch. Just watched my first 5 minutes of this series and I've already seen one short eared owl chick peck a sibling to death and eat it's cadaver," as a third commented: "Baby owl eating its sibling alive ffs . Give us a 5 minute warning next time." It comes shortly after the show k icked off its 20th anniversary series. The show broadcasted from a new location, in the picturesque Peak District. Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan introduced the first episode on May 26 with a nostalgic montage of clips featuring familiar faces, including Kate Humble and Bill Oddie, from the show's debut in 2005. ‌ To celebrate two decades on air, the show introduced a new feature, Springwatch Street, which delves into the secret lives of urban wildlife, showcasing the thriving populations of foxes and swifts in city environments. Fans were overjoyed with the anniversary series, with many taking to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their delight. Others were more focused on Chris' Oasis style bucket hat. To go along with the theme, the host peppered his opening segment with Oasis puns, teasing viewers that they were in for a treat: "You'll want to be here now as we're about to bring you the Champagne supernova of wildlife TV, starting tonight." "@ChrisGPackham clearly on an Oasis kick tonight," penned one follower, as others begged him to break out into song. "Oasis songs then Chris?" questioned one, as another said: "Some might say that Chris is naming Oasis songs."

Loose Women star suffered 'sleepless nights' after brutal ITV cuts

A Loose Women panellist revealed she suffered from sleepless nights after ITV announced the cuts and changes to they daytime programmes Loose Women star Kaye Adams revealed she had a few 'sleepless nights' after ITV announced changes to the daytime programmes. The ITV programme will be cut to just 30 weeks of the year and the team behind Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will all be merged, which will lead to redundancies at ITV. Lorraine Kelly's show is also being cut to 30 minutes and will air 30 weeks of the year. As a result, Good Morning Britain will be extended until 9.30am each day. Some of the Loose Women stars have yet to speak out, but Nadia Sawalha and Kaye recently broke their silence to share their thoughts on the changes. ‌ ‌ "What has been brutal over the past week and I am getting tearful about it, is that hundreds of people are going to be made redundant out of the blue," Nadia said in a recent YouTube video. Meanwhile, Kaye took to her How to be 60 podcast and said the cuts "came out of the blue". The 62-year-old admitted: "I didn't anticipate it, which is probably stupid in retrospect. You get into a sort of rhythm of life. "I had a couple of sleepless nights I have to say, because it's just like the rug's been pulled from under your feet – what has been familiar.' She continued: "It's going to have an impact. Lots of people will lose their jobs completely which is terrible. It's a huge change. But I gave myself a talking to and I listened to my own advice for once – change is hard, but it can be good. 'The past is a trap, don't fear the future – I'm telling myself all these things. And maybe this is the nudge that I needed to make some changes in my life and I'll just have to go with it.' ‌ Nadia spoke out about the cuts last week and told her fans that some people behind the scenes "are really suffering". She explained: "What you don't realise is when you attack the show you attack them, because you never see all the army of people behind the scenes and how hard they work. "So to all my friends and colleagues behind the scenes who have just got a huge shock out of the blue, I'm so sorry. Mark knows how upset I've been at home about it. I just can't bear it. So just be f*****g kind to people." ‌ She then added: "What people don't realise at Loose Women is that we're self-employed, I am self-employed. Every contract is a new contract. I could be let go tomorrow, in five years, you don't know because we're not employees. "So I can't tell you anything accept I am on for my next contract. What has been brutal over the past week and I am getting tearful about it, is that hundreds of people are going to be made redundant out of the blue.
