Rare Kobe Bryant-Michael Jordan card 'expected to sell for over $6million' at auction
The highly coveted card - from the 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection - is currently up for grabs through Heritage Auctions.
As of Saturday morning, bidding had already soared past $5 million, with auction experts predicting a final sale price north of $6.1 million.
What makes the card so valuable? It's the only card ever produced that includes both Jordan's and Bryant's autographs, alongside dual NBA Logoman patches.
There is one in the traditional red, white, and blue for Bryant, and a gold and white variation for Jordan.
According to TMZ, Chris Ivy, Heritage's Director of Sports Auctions said: 'This Dual Logoman card offered in this auction is the only example created that includes only Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
'That makes it the most sought-after example of the incredible Upper Deck Logoman series, and because of Kobe Bryant's tragic death in 2020, it always will be the only one.'
The card is part of Heritage's Summer Platinum Night Sports Auction, which runs from August 23 to 24. If it sells as expected, it will become the most expensive basketball card ever sold at public auction.
According to Ivy, the card's consignor has already fielded multiple seven-figure private offers, but opted to place it in public auction.
'We're confident that it could, and most likely will, establish a new world record when the final bid is placed,' Ivy told TMZ.
If the Jordan–Bryant Dual Logoman card hits its expected price, it will surpass the most valuable basketball cards ever sold - including those of Stephen Curry and LeBron James.
In July 2021, a Stephen Curry 2009-10 Panini National Treasures Rookie Logoman Autograph card - serial numbered 1-of-1 - sold in a private sale for an astounding $5.9 million.
Earlier that same year, a LeBron James 2003-04 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Rookie Patch Autograph #78 sold for $5.2 million in a private sale.
Now, with bidding on the Jordan–Bryant Logoman card climbing, it appears poised to take the top spot and cement its place as the most valuable basketball card ever.
Understandably so, given that both players featured on the card are titans of the sport.
Michael Jordan, a six-time NBA champion and five-time MVP with the Chicago Bulls, retired in 1993 before returning to the league twice more, ultimately ending his career in 2003 after two seasons with the Washington Wizards.
Kobe Bryant, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in basketball history, spent his entire 20-season career with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning five NBA championships.
He tragically passed away in a 2020 helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, alongside his daughter Gianna and seven others.
With the world watching and bidding still underway, this extraordinary piece of basketball memorabilia is poised to make history - just like the two legends it honors.

Mariah Carey reveals what she really thinks about the Grammys after being snubbed for years
has blasted the Grammys after being snubbed out of nominations for years. The 56-year-old singer has won only five Grammy Awards during the course of her successful career thus far - with her last nomination occurring 16 years earlier. The Always Be My Baby hitmaker appeared on Pitchfork's Over/Under YouTube series where celebrities weigh in on pop culture symbols including Labubus, Crocs, and Christmas. When the topic of the biggest award show in music came up, Mariah pulled no punches as she said: 'Ha, I think the Grammys are overrated.' Mariah went on to clarify that she meant that both the award show and the award itself were overrated. She didn't fully turn into her bitterness as she added: 'But we love everybody.' Last October, the Fantasy songstress opened up about the topic during the latest episode of the Las Culturistas podcast. At one point, hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers expressed that she doesn't 'have enough' Grammy wins, per Entertainment Weekly. Carey agreed and said in response, 'They scaaaaammed me. They toy with me.' Mariah has garnered a whopping 34 Grammy nominations - with her first win taking place in 1991 for Best New Artist and Best Pop Female Vocal Performance for Vision Of Love. In 2006, her album Emancipation Of Mimi won the Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album. The same year, she also won Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for the track, We Belong Together. Her last Grammy nomination was in 2009 for Best Gospel Performance for the song titled, I Understood, which also featured Kim Burrell, Rance Allen and Bebe Winans. Mariah has sold around 220 million records across the globe, and notably landed the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart 19 times as a solo artist. She has garnered a list of other accolades over the years, such as winning 10 American Music Awards and 20 Billboard Music Awards. Aside from the Las Culturistas podcast, Carey has previously let her feelings be known about her few Grammy wins. In February 2024, the star was honored with the Recording Academy's Global Impact Award at the 2024 Black Music Collective event. Upon taking to the stage, she seemingly threw shade at the Grammys, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 'Is this a real Grammy? I haven't seen one in soooooo long,' Mariah humorously said to the crowd. 'It's weird. I don't know. We'll figure out what this is later.'
