Nova stars Ryan 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald and Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli reveal their show may soon be cancelled - following Kate Ritchie's departure: 'We've got to hang up the mic'
Fitzy, 48, made the shock admission on their show on Tuesday morning, saying the co-hosts' contracts with Nova may not be renewed by the end of the year.
During a discussion about the program's future, Fitzy said: 'I don't think they are being renewed. I'm gonna miss it, but we gotta hang up the mic at some stage.'
The long-running breakfast show premiered in January 2011, with actress Kate Ritchie joining the programme as co-host in March 2023.

Fitzy and Wippa, 45, have been without their co-host Kate, 46, since the start of the year after she took time off to deal with personal issues.
Despite Kate not appearing on the show since late January, it is still promoted as Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Nova's website and social media.
Last month, a segment on the program fuelled more speculation the Home and Away star was not returning to the show.
Fitzy and Wippa shared some details about their annual Singles Party, but there was one glaring omission.
The duo revealed they would host the ball for the singles of Sydney, but made no mention of whether their absent co-star Kate would be attending.
'It's back, Fitzy, Wippa and Kate Ritchie's Singles Party returns! One night, one room, 100 chances to find the one,' a promo played on the station said.
Co-host Wippa then chatted to Kate's fill-in presenter Chrissie Swan about the event, and said it would be a great night aboard a luxurious yacht on Sydney Harbour.
'Chrissie, last year you weren't even there! You are not going to believe it, before the Slow Dance took place, a couple already held hands and wandered off because they were having such a good time together,' Wippa began.
'This is the power of the Singles Party and it is back again for 2025, bigger and better!'
Veteran presenter Fitzy then jumped in to discuss how diverse the event would be, but failed to mention if Kate would be attending.
There has been ongoing speculation over when she'll return to co-host Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Nova 96.9 following her sudden departure in January after a troubling public incident in a Sydney park.
Kate's Instagram bio doesn't mention Nova anymore; instead she is simply 'actor, radio and broadcaster', which may point to her making a quiet exit.
Kate has been receiving ongoing support at a rehabilitation facility since the incident, which saw her photographed in tears and appearing visibly distressed shortly after picking up daughter Mae from school.
At the time of Kate's departure, Nova's co-hosts had promised their audience the absent Kate would return after one day off, but that timeline was soon dropped.
Nova has remained tight-lipped on any potential comeback date and did not respond to questions about whether the embattled star had continued to receive pay during her absence.

And Just Like That return hopes dashed by key plot as disappointed fans fume
Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That is ending after three seasons with fans left disappointed at the direction the show was taken in after return to screens Sex and the City spin off And Just Like That is ending after three seasons with the finale due to air next week. The last ever episode will see Sarah Jessica Parker finally say farewell to Carrie Bradshaw for good following a shock announcement from showrunner Michael Patrick King. Fans were left surprised by the announcement despite the show regularly facing a backlash from viewers who slammed it as "the worst show on television." Audiences were left divided over the reboot which launched in 2021 due to the storylines that saw huge changes for the beloved SATC characters, including Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) who cheated on her husband Steve Brady with non-binary comic Che Diaz, and Carrie calling the iconic love of her life Mr. Big a "mistake" as she rekindled her past romance with Aidan Shaw. It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025. Kim Cattrall's absence as fan-favourite character Samantha Jones also left a bad taste in viewers mouths, as Kim stayed away from the project due to a decade long rift with her former castmates. The areas in which the show was lacking left the production unable to continue according to sources. One insider told the Daily Mail: "HBO was happy to ride with the show for a few more years. Everyone was indebted to Sarah [Jessica Parker] and wanted the story she wanted to be told to go to completion. Decision makers felt like they owed it to Sarah and the rest of the cast and crew." TV tracker Samba TV reported that just 429,000 households streamed the season three premiere of AJLT in the four days following its debut – which was a seven percent decline from the season two premiere. The series premiere four years ago saw 1.1 million households tune in. However, the show suffered due to its "woke" storylines according to another insider. The source said: "Sex and the City is about women talking about dating men, their penis sizes and what the sex was like. Of course, they're getting older, but it's not like you don't still have sex with men and talk about their penises. People weren't connecting with the show." People struggled to get get on board with Miranda's new found romance with Che, who described themselves as a "queer non-binary Mexican Irish diva." The character was branded the "worst" on the series, with some viewers suggesting they were "[setting] back non-binary representation 70 years." When her romance with Che ended after Sara Ramirez was axed from the show Cynthia continued to pursue sexual encounters with other females as a single woman. The insider added: "Cynthia's plot continued to destroy the show. It sucked. Let's be honest, most people didn't watch after that first episode." Since the shock announcement of the show ending Parker paid tribute to Carrie in a lengthy Instagram post which highlighted some of her favorite memories of Carrie. She shared: "Crossed streets, avenues, rubicons, so it seemed. She broke hearts, heels, habits. She loved, lost, won, tripped, leaped. Fell short and into puddles. Aged. Got wiser. She has made the hardest worst and best decisions. "Traveled near and far. For the new. The vintage. Friends and love. Changed homes, time zones, boyfriends, her mind, her shoes, her hair, but never her love and devotion to New York City. She had dates, drinks, boyfriends. A husband and truly great loves and romances. She hailed cabs. She ran in heels. And danced with Stanford. She told the truth and she lied. "She typed. Wondered. Wrote. Published. Grieved. Forgave. Got stood up. Stood strong. Stood out. She devoted herself to hats, books, shoes, friends and the promise of a new day in her beloved city and the people she treasured most. She has worn shame, pride, honor, optimism and literally countless dresses, skirts, tutus. "Held onto hands, hopes and the very best of people. Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte, there will never be better friends and what great fortune for Carrie to come to know and love Seema and LTW, most divine new connections. "Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all. I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt. To you all. "MPK and I together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete. AJLT was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us." She concluded: "I am better for every single day I spent with you. It will be forever before I forget the whole thing. Thank you all. I love you so. I hope you love these final two episodes as much as we all do. Rabbit rabbit. Xxx, SJ."

Myleene Klass' ex hits back at cheating claim and says he hasn't seen kids in years
Graham Quinn, the ex-husband of Myleene Klass, has hit back at claims he cheated on the former Hear'Say singer. Pals of Graham Quinn have struck back at allegations he was unfaithful to his former partner Myleene Klass. The couple parted ways in 2013, but now over a decade later, discussion surrounding Myleene's past romance with the security boss has emerged once again. The singer-turned-television star has claimed she discovered him being unfaithful with a prominent celebrity, with the supposed liaison allegedly taking place shortly before they wed in 2011. Myleene, 47, rose to prominence following her appearance on reality programme Popstars before joining the group Hear'Say. During a podcast appearance, the Loose Women regular alleged she stumbled upon Graham and the mystery woman "unzipping each other" on the balcony during her birthday celebrations. A mate close to the father-of-two told the Daily Mail: "Gray is a private person and is happy leading a quiet life. Despite being fed up to the back teeth with Myleene, he's not going to dignify these fantasies with a response. He thinks she's a bully." The pal informed the newspaper they believed the timing of revealing her claim was "vindictive and calculated", coming during the week of his 51st birthday, reports the Mirror. The friend added: "She knew what she was doing. That woman will do anything for attention and once again she has dragged Gray's name through the mud to get it." Myleene and Graham are parents to two daughters - Ava, 17, and Hero, 13. Whilst Graham has remained tight-lipped about his alleged infidelity, he has recently opened up about being estranged from his children for years. Graham, who is currently based in Ibiza for work, told Fathers4Justice in a recent piece: "I haven't seen my kids in years." He went on: "I've thrown so much more money at it [trying to see his daughters] and I can't afford much more. I've spent £20,000 and am probably further away from them now than I've ever been. It's like banging my head against a brick wall. I've missed so many birthdays and Christmas days. I'll never get that back." He also claimed that his parents and other relatives have been cut off from the children as well. During their marriage breakdown, Graham stated that Myleene attempted to suggest her finances were left in tatters during their divorce proceedings. However, Graham now maintains he walked away empty-handed from any settlement. He claimed: "I got no financial settlement at all. All I got from the sale of the house was the money I'd put in. In fact, we sold it at a loss. My eldest used to say to me, 'daddy, did you take all of Mummy's pennies?' and I'd have to explain no. She got the easiest divorce ever. My lawyer at the time said I could've demanded a lot more, but I didn't want to. It would be taking away from my daughters." The Mirror has contacted Myleene for comment.

Piers Morgan issues groveling apology to Jake Paul and walks back 'staged fight' claim to avoid legal action
Piers Morgan has U-turned on his claim that Jake Paul 's fights are 'boring, staged bulls***' and apologized to the boxer in a bid to avoid legal proceedings. As exclusively revealed by the Daily Mail, YouTube star-turned-pro boxer Paul retained Alex Spiro earlier this week in what appeared a serious threat to address and counteract what he claims to be false and damaging statements. And it took just a few short days for Morgan to publicly walk back his statements, writing a rare - and lengthy - apology to his 8.9million followers on X. 'I posted a few weeks ago that Jake Paul's boxing career has been 'boring staged bullsh*t.',' Morgan began. 'What I meant is that his fights have been predominantly against older, past-their-prime opponents, which may be lucrative for both sides, and may have entertainment value, but don't reveal how he stacks up against currently ranked boxers and therefore are not a good look for the sport. 'I did not intend to suggest that the outcome was predetermined and certainly didn't mean to suggest anything illegal. But if reports are correct that Jake is now in negotiations to fight Anthony Joshua, that would obviously be a seriously credible bout against one of the best heavyweights in the world. I posted a few weeks ago that Jake Paul's boxing career has been 'boring staged bullsh*t.' What I meant is that his fights have been predominantly against older, past-their-prime opponents, which may be lucrative for both sides, and may have entertainment value, but don't reveal… — Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) August 9, 2025 'Jake is welcome to come on Uncensored to discuss this, and verbally slug it out with me, anytime.' Spiro, reportedly charging around $3,000 an hour, is known for aggressively protecting the reputations of his clients - who include the likes of Elon Musk, Jay-Z, Alec Baldwin and Naomi Osaka - and that appears to have been the case once again with Paul. Spiro played a pivotal role in Baldwin's defense following the fatal 2021 'Rust' shooting. He helped uncover that prosecutors had withheld evidence, leading to the dismissal of involuntary manslaughter charges against Baldwin. Despite Paul's 12th professional victory back in June, several notable media figures and celebrities have publicly alleged that his fights were fixed or staged. Paul's manager and MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian pushed back hard against these accusations during an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, stating: 'When you definitively state that Jake is putting on staged or rigged fights, that's just defamation, and you're causing substantial damage to his business, to MVP's business, and something that's 100 per cent not true.' Bidarian emphasized the broader implications, noting the damage these accusations are causing to Paul's partnerships with major brands such as DAZN, Netflix, and Celsius. 'We're having to have conversations with our partners that are just unjustifiable,' he said. 'Our legal representation is looking at multiple individuals to go after.' Paul's most widely-viewed bout came last November in a high-profile fight against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, which was streamed live on Netflix and watched by over 108million viewers globally.
