Fans were seen congregating in Geneva ahead of the encounter, many of whom appeared to be in buoyant spirits prior to kick-off.
England's march to the semi-finals of Euro 2025 caps a remarkable turnaround in their fortunes after they lost their opening match of the tournament to France.
They are hopeful of seeing England progress to a third final appearance at a major tournament in a row
Following that 2-1 defeat, England could have suffered the humble fate of exiting at the group stages had they lost to the Netherlands - only to respond in resounding fashion.
Despite making it to the knockout stages, they looked to be heading out at the expense of Sweden after falling 2-0 behind after just 25 minutes.
However, two goals in three minutes from Lucy Bronze and Michelle Agyemang helped take the game to extra-time.
After that period remained goalless, a nerve-shredding penalty shootout ended with England progressing when Lucy Bronze converted their seventh penalty.
Should they beat Italy, it would mark the third time in a row they have reached a final. having done so at Euro 2022 and the 2023 World Cup.
While they were victorious over Germany to win their first-ever international trophy at the last Euros, the Lionesses suffered World Cup heartache a year later as they were beaten in the final by Spain.

Becky Hill flaunts her jaw-dropping figure in a black bikini as she larks about with pals while celebrating her hen do in Lake Como ahead of tying the knot with fiancé Charlie Gardner
Becky Hill looked sensational as she slipped into a tiny black bikini while celebrating her hen do at the swanky Filario Hotel in sun-soaked Lake Como on Monday. The songstress, 31, who announced her engagement to fiancé Charlie Gardner in January 2022, flaunted her jaw-dropping figure in the tiny two piece as she larked about with her huge bridal party. The group enjoyed a spot of swimming and beaming Becky floated in a huge rubber ring before cheekily posing with an inflatable on her head. Back on shore the bride-to-be was showered with gifts including a heartfelt memory book full of photos and personal messages. The False Alarm hitmaker showcased her gym toned physique before later changing into a chic plaid maxi dress and trendy white trainers. Becky, who shot to fame on The Voice Uk in 2012, revealed she was engaged after Charlie popped the question while on a romantic holiday in the Maldives. She made the happy announcement with a slew of snaps of the happy couple posted to Instagram and wrote: 'turns out he actually does like me' followed by a diamond ring emoji. She then revealed that she wanted to have a 'sick' music festival-style wedding when the pair tie the knot. Becky told The Sun in 2022: 'We are having a festival of course! We are going to have a sick festival with an acoustic tent, a dance tent, a pop tent.' Asked if big names such as David Guetta and Little Mix would perform at the festival, Becky said: 'I'd like to think so. As long as they don't all need paying, yes. I'll be like, 'I'll give you cake'. Just let me get album two out of the way.' Commenting on Charlie's marriage proposal, she added: I was like, 'Shut the f*** up!' It was mad. He drew a heart in the sand on a desert island. The engagement came after Becky spoke to Daily Mail and admitted finding going abroad 'especially difficult' due to archaic attitudes towards her 'queerness '. A reclaimed slur, the umbrella term is used by anybody who does not identify as heterosexual or the gender binary. Becky declared herself a member of the LGBTQ+ community, however was left feeling perplexed following an interview in Poland. The group enjoyed a spot of swimming and beaming Becky floated in a huge rubber ring before cheekily posing with an inflatable on her head The kooky star appeared to having a wonderful time as she celebrated with her friend She then revealed that she wanted to have a 'sick' music festival-style wedding when the pair tie the knot The False Alarm hitmaker showcased her gym toned physique before later changing into a chic plaid maxi dress and trendy white trainers She exclusively told Daily Mail: 'One of the things that I found especially difficult is talking about my queerness in different countries. 'I recently went to Poland and I was asked about being queer in an interview and what it meant considering I had a boyfriend who was in a heterosexual relationship.' The Wish You Well songstress continued: 'I answered it very honestly - as I would always answer any question I get asked. 'But it's difficult when attitudes in certain areas of the world haven't been brought up to the same date as us. 'Everybody's got to come into the 21st century, everybody's got to get used to the idea that queer people are here and not going anywhere.' 'Hopefully people will start to love the queer community as much as I do.' She previously told Attitude: 'I felt a bit like an imposter because I've had a boyfriend for five and a half years… I feel much better now I am under the queer umbrella. 'I also think it's important for women to own their queerness, instead of over-sexualising their desire for other women for the sake of straight men. 'I know I enjoy sleeping with women, to what degree of that I don't know, but I'd rather call myself queer and name it for what it is, than have men fantasise over the idea that I might be bi-curious or like a cheeky threesome here and there.' She announcemed her engagement with a slew of snaps of the happy couple posted to Instagram and wrote: 'turns out he actually does like me' followed by a diamond ring emoji. Ex-Arsenal man hired by Thomas Frank is key to solving one of Tottenham's biggest issues – and it's already working
THOMAS FRANK will have a chance today to see just how far his new Tottenham side have come on set-pieces when they take on the masters of the craft. No one scored more goals from dead-ball situations, excluding penalties, in the Premier League last season than Arsenal, who face North London rivals Spurs in Hong Kong this lunchtime. 6 6 The Gunners netted a whopping 17 times from those scenarios, inspired by their set-piece specialist coach Nicolas Jover. German-born Frenchman Jover, 43, fast became a household name among Gooners for the way he leaps into action, barking orders from Mikel Arteta's technical area whenever Arsenal get a free-kick or corner. Frank has his own grand plans to turn Spurs into set-piece experts - and has hired an ex-Gunners coach to help him do it. Andreas Georgson spent a year as Arteta 's set-piece coach between 2020 and 2021, having left Frank's Brentford to take up the position. The Swede, 43, was replaced by Jover before going on to hold similar roles at Southampton and Manchester United, as well as more senior roles back in Scandinavia. Georgson's latest gig is at Spurs, where he became part of Frank's new-look coaching staff that was announced earlier this month. He holds the title of first-team assistant coach, but his specific focus will be set-pieces. Frank excelled from the routines at Brentford, netting 14 league goals from them last term and conceding a Prem-best three. It is not just from corners and free-kicks that he looks to gain an advantage, either. Fans will remember how his Bees, remarkably, scored virtually from the kick-off in three successive games last September. Arsenal vs Tottenham fan debate battle | Stoppage Time The remarkable hat-trick saw them make Premier League history by becoming the first team to net within the first minute in a trio of back-to-back fixtures. Long throws are also something he is happy to employ, with footage from Destiny Udogie's Snapchat appearing to reveal Spurs have held 'long throw auditions' in pre-season training. Centre-back Micky van de Ven is hoping all the extra work on dead-ball situations will pay off this season. The Dutchman, 24, said on Tuesday: 'We have had a lot of training sessions already where we are working on set-pieces. I know you guys love talking about set-pieces and Tottenham. 6 6 'I hope we can change that this year and make it a strong point for us on the offensive and defensive side.' The "I know you guys love talking about set-pieces and Tottenham" remark related to the furore surrounding them under predecessor Ange Postecoglou. In truth, it was a mountain made out of a molehill by Postecoglou himself, and it came after a North London derby defeat to today's opponents. Spurs conceded twice from corners in their 3-2 home loss to Arsenal in April 2024, during Postecoglou's first campaign. At the time, it took the club's tally of goals conceded from set-pieces to nine, which was not terrible but not great either. It just required an acknowledgement that things could have been improved and a promise to work on them. Postecoglou instead appeared to dismiss set-pieces altogether after the game, then doubled down on that view again a few days later in his next press conference. After that, a narrative emerged that he did not care about them at all, which was brought up every time Spurs subsequently conceded from a dead-ball situation, not including spot-kicks. Frank has been very clear about how much he values them and spoke of his pride after his new team scored their first goals under him from set-pieces in his opening friendly, a 2-0 win at Reading, earlier this month. 6 6 Arsenal set the bar for success in this area - today Spurs can get an early idea of how they measure up at the Kai Tak Stadium today. They will do it, meanwhile, wearing kit with bespoke, jazzy-looking shirt numbers designed by local artists. 'ParentsParents', a collective of artists from diverse backgrounds in graffiti, illustration and geometry style character, designed the numbers, using themes, colours and symbols meaningful to Hong Kong. You can put your shirt on set-pieces playing a key role in today's friendly version of the North London derby on the far side of the world.

Semedo departure 'typical' - fans split on captain's exit
We asked for your views on captain Nelson Semedo leaving Molineux after a five-season stint, making 182 appearances and playing under five different are some of your replies:John: Losing Semedo was inevitable. I know the club had put a decent contract offer in front of the lad, but it was always more in hope than expectation. All the very best, Nelson. You will always be a A big blow to lose a player of this calibre. At times he slipped under the radar, unfairly, and he didn't always get the credit he deserved. However, his consistent performances made him a key member of the squad. He will be very difficult to replace. It's a shame to see him go, but I wish him all the best. Typical that he leaves after his best season for Wolves. Prior to that, he wasn't great. He made lots of mistakes defensively and he had no threat going forward, despite getting into good positions. I think he has proved to be a costly You can't blame him for coining it at the end of his You have to judge people on what they do, not what they say. Semedo just hung on, hoping to get a better offer. If he had any real regard for the club, he would have made a decision at the end of last season. Instead, by delaying so long, he has put the club in a difficult situation in terms of getting a replacement. The club should not have given him so much Very unhappy with how he has handled his and follow your club
