Lady Vols' basketball opponent announced in 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge
Tennessee women's basketball will compete in the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge.
The Lady Vols, ranked No. 7 in the ESPN's way-too-early top 25, will renew their series with Stanford on Dec. 3 at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, California. The matchup between Tennessee and the Cardinal will be one of 16 games in this season's ACC/SEC Challenge. The two-day event takes place Dec. 3-4 and all games will be televised by ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and ACC Network.
The inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge was held in 2023 with each conference winning seven games. In 2024, the SEC compiled a 10-6 record in the event. Tennessee defeated Florida State, 79-77, at Food City Center, in last season's challenge.
The Lady Vols lead the all time series against Stanford, 25-14. Stanford has won the last four meetings and prevailed in seven of the last 10 contests. The two teams last played during the 2022-23 season with the Cardinal recording a, 77-70, victory at home.

BY DUDLEY E. DAWSON FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas softball head coach Courtney Deifel has quickly filled the Razorbacks need for a slugging first baseman. California standout Tianna Bell announced her commitment to play her final college season at Arkansas earlier this week. Advertisement Bell had career highs this season in batting average (.347), home runs (15) and RBI (54) while playing in all of her team's 58 games and being named to the All-ACC second team. The 5-foot-5 Bell also shined defensively with a fielding percentage of .991 after having three errors in 319 chances. During her career at Cal, Bell hit .305 with 32 home runs and 108 RBIs Bell is expected to replace Bri Ellis, the nation's top collegiate player last season with 26 home runs this season for the Razorbacks, who finished one win away from the Women's College World Series. LSU reveals starting pitcher for College World Series opener vs. Arkansas LSU baseball named a starting pitcher for its College World Series opener vs. Arkansas. As expected, lefty Kade Anderson will get the ball. Anderson has served as LSU's all year. In 17 starts, Anderson is 10-1 with a 3.58 ERA in 103 innings. Anderson's 163 strikeouts rank second in the country, only behind Tennessee's Liam Doyle. After Saturday, Anderson will lead the nation in strikeouts. LSU already met Arkansas once this year, taking two of three from the Razorbacks in April. Anderson went 5.2 innings, allowing seven hits and three earned runs. Anderson struck out 10 and walked just one. Two of Anderson's three allowed runs came off the long ball.
