MoHAP Launches Digital System to Streamline Healthcare Fine Collection and Boost Efficiency
Part of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, the system offers a unified platform that simplifies fine payments, improves task management, and enhances technical support. By fully automating financial procedures, the initiative enables healthcare providers to focus more on patient care while reducing administrative overhead.
Officials say the platform improves data accuracy, accelerates service delivery, and aligns with federal debt collection laws. It also strengthens regulatory compliance across the private healthcare sector, paving the way for a more flexible and competitive environment.
Abdullah Ahli, Acting Assistant Under-Secretary for the Support Services Sector, called the system a 'major advancement in violation management,' noting that it provides a faster and more transparent process for resolving fines. He highlighted the Ministry's broader strategy to build strong public-private partnerships and improve healthcare competitiveness.
Amna Al Mandoos, Head of the Revenue Section at MoHAP, said the system supports national goals under We the UAE 2031 by offering multiple digital payment options, reducing errors, and enhancing customer satisfaction. She emphasized its role in easing compliance and boosting operational efficiency across healthcare facilities.
The initiative marks a key step in MoHAP's wider adoption of emerging technologies to modernize public services and deliver smarter, more sustainable healthcare solutions.

Permanent Desert Locust Invasion Monitoring Center in Gadm-Halib
A permanent desert locust invasion monitoring center has been established in Gadm-Halib administrative area through the coordination of the Ministry of Agriculture's central office. The center is located about 60 km east of Afabet town. Mr. Efrem Kiflu, head of Administration and Finance at the Ministry of Agriculture, said the construction of the center was carried out mainly by members of the Defense Forces, with participation from the Segen Construction Company, Adi-Hallo Project, and the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Eritrean Defense Forces in designing and supervising the project. Residents and administrators of Afabet sub-zone, particularly from the Gadm-Halib administrative area, said the establishment of the monitoring center would significantly ease the burden previously shouldered by locals in monitoring and controlling desert locust infestations. Members of the Defense Forces who took part in the project expressed satisfaction with their contribution and the timely completion of the center. The UAE achieved a major milestone in global competitiveness, advancing to 16th place worldwide in the 2025 Government Support Index, one of the key indicators featured in the International Institute for Management Development's (IMD) World Competitiveness Yearbook. The ranking represents a remarkable 27-place improvement from the UAE's 43rd position in 2024. The Government Support Index measures the value of government support as a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP). UAE competitiveness It serves as a benchmark for the efficiency of public financial resource management and a country's ability to stimulate economic growth through effective public spending. The Ministry of Finance said the UAE's rapid rise reflects the efficiency of its fiscal policies and ongoing efforts to strengthen the effectiveness of public expenditure. This progress has been achieved through close coordination between the federal government and local financial departments, advancing financial analysis tools and optimising resource allocation. The Ministry added that continued improvements in financial data quality, sustainability practices, and fiscal balance are central to the UAE's long-term strategy. These measures not only enhance global competitiveness but also support the country's commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Ministry said: 'We aspire to rank among the world's top ten in the Government Support Index by 2026, guided by the vision of our wise leadership and the dedication of our national teams. 'We will continue to embed a results-driven approach based on effective public spending and financial sustainability to drive the nation's growth.' India's unemployment rate eases to 5.2% in July
India's unemployment rate fell to 5.2% in July from 5.6% in the previous month, the statistics ministry said on Monday, as rural hiring picked up ahead of the festival season and on agricultural activity. The jobless rate among those aged 15 years and above in rural areas fell to 4.4% from 4.9% in June, while it rose in urban areas to 7.2% from 7.1% in June, the data showed. Among urban youth aged 15 to 29 years, unemployment increased to 19.0% in July from 18.8% in June. In rural areas, the youth jobless rate declined to 13% from 13.8% in the previous month. It was 13.7% in May. The unemployment rate for the April-June period, the first quarter of current fiscal year, was estimated at 5.4% among those aged 15 years and above, the ministry said. India's federal government has announced plans to cut its goods and services tax by October, after rising tensions with the United States over steep tariff hikes announced by President Donald Trump on Indian goods, in a bid to shore up local manufacturing and support jobs. The labour force participation rate (LFPR) - the share of people aged 15 years or more working, seeking work or available for work in the population - rose to 54.9% in July from 54.2% in June, the ministry said. S&P Global Ratings on Thursday upgraded India's long-term sovereign credit rating to 'BBB' from 'BBB-', the first upgrade in 18 years, citing strong economic growth, improved monetary policy credibility, and sustained fiscal consolidation. India's real GDP growth averaged 8.8% between fiscal 2022 and 2024, the highest in Asia-Pacific, and is projected to grow at 6.8% annually over the next three years.
