Kamala Harris mocked over 'word salad' speech to cast of ‘A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical'
Former Vice President Kamala Harris delivered a so-called nonsensical "word salad" during an attempt to deliver an inspirational message to the cast of Broadway's "A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical."
Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were seen attending two Broadway productions over the weekend, the other being "Gypsy," the New York Post reported.
Following a standing ovation for "A Wonderful World," Harris delivered her speech to the cast and crew.
Liz Cheney Campaigns With Vice President Harris Ahead Of The Election
"When we think about these moments where we see things that are being taken, but also let's see it, you know, nature abhors a vacuum," Harris tells the musical's cast in a clip shared on X.
"Where there's a vacancy, let's fill it. Let us know that the reality is that the progress of our nation has been about the expansion of rights, not the restriction of rights," she added. "We're seeing a U-turn right now. For those rights to be maintained, which means we have to be vigilant. It's just the nature of it."

Harris was mocked online for her remarks, with some comparing her to someone under the influence of alcohol.
"Kamala Harris hit Broadway and, of course, served up her signature word salad. A friendly reminder of what we dodged in the White House," one person wrote on X.
She was similarly ridiculed after leaving office when she spoke to firefighters in California as they were battling wildfires in Los Angeles.
Kamala Harris Mocked Online For Another 'Word Salad' About 'Community' During Fire Department Visit
"As I said to these courageous and extraordinary firefighters, you know moments of crisis really do reveal the heroes among us," she said. "We went and visited World Central Kitchen. I mean, the volunteers who were there, some of them who lost their own homes, are there doing the work of taking care of perfect strangers, who, in the face of that stranger, they see a neighbor."
As vice president, Harris once said: "I grew up understanding the children of the community are the children of the community."
Since leaving the White House, Harris has dodged questions about her political future, amid rumors she may be considering a run to become governor of California.
The state's current governor, Gavin Newsom, a political ally of Harris', is term-limited from seeking another term.

There's great anticipation for the critically-acclaimed Broadway musical Buena Vista Social Club ahead of the Tony Awards, where the show - inspired by the story of legendary Afro-Cuban musicians who created the Grammy-winning 1997 album of the same name - has scored 10 nominations. The electrifying production, with its colorful imagery, captivating rhythm and compelling story, is making Broadway history as the first musical to feature its entire score sung completely in Spanish, while the scenes are performed in English. Just ahead of the award ceremony, the producers have released the Buena Vista Social Club original Broadway cast recording digital album, giving audiences a chance to experience the Cuban rhythms that have captivated theatergoers. Produced by Dean Sharenow and David Yazbek, the digital recording is distributed through World Circuit Records. Physical formats will follow, with the CD available July 25, and vinyl later in 2025. The original cast recording features the original Broadway cast as well as the Buena Vista Social Club Broadway band, which has been awarded a 2025 Special Tony Award. Broadway's "Buena Vista Social Club" has 10 Tony nominations. The Buena Vista Social Club is tied with Death Becomes Her and Maybe Happy Ending for the most of any show this season. While there are strong expectations that Buena Vista Social Club will pick up several awards, the show has already secured its legacy and its future. The production is hitting the road, embarking on a multi-year North American tour in September 2026. "Our show redefines what a new Broadway musical looks like, showcasing the beautiful artistry and heritage of this beloved Cuban music," says show producer Orin Wolf, who also co-produced the original Broadway cast recording album with music director Marco Paguia. George Clooney Makes Broadway History as His Play 'Good Night, and Good Luck 'Is Broadcast Live on CNN
George Clooney's Broadway play Good Night, and Good Luck made history by being broadcast live on CNN on Saturday, June 7 No live Broadway play has ever been simultaneously televised, according to the network Clooney, who directed the 2005 film version, plays journalist Edward R. Murrow in his Broadway debutGeorge Clooney's play Good Night, and Good Luck just made Broadway history. The Tony-nominated play starring Clooney, 64, as journalist Edward R. Murrow had its penultimate performance from the Winter Garden Theatre broadcast live on CNN and on Saturday, June 7. This marks the first time a live Broadway performance has ever been simultaneously televised, according to the network. "I can't tell you how exciting it is to do something that's never been done," Clooney previously said in a statement about the televised event. "CNN is the perfect place to bring this story of courage to so many more people than we could have ever hoped. Live TV. No net. Buckle up, everyone." 'Good Night, and Good Luck is not just a celebration of a golden age in TV journalism,' added Chairman and CEO of CNN Mark Thompson. "It's also about the importance of the free press and the need for strong news organizations to report the facts in a fair-minded way. That's something we still care deeply about." Nominated for five Tony Awards and directed by David Cromer, Good Night, and Good Luck has become the highest-grossing play in Broadway history, and the first play to surpass a gross of $4 million in a single week. The production marks Clooney's Broadway debut, and comes 15 years since the hit 2005 movie about CBS journalist Murrow's 1954 exposé on Sen. Joseph McCarthy. Clooney directed the film version, in which he played Fred W. Friendly. Clooney stars as Murrow onstage and co-wrote the stage adaptation with Grant Heslov. The two previously collaborated on the film's screenplay, nabbing a Best Original Screenplay Oscar nomination in the process. Clooney was also nominated that year for directing Good Night, and Good Luck, as well as for his supporting acting work in Syriana. The latter won Clooney his only acting Oscar. During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on June 2, Clooney joked that one of the first things he'll do after his final performance is fix his "bad" hair. Clooney appeared on the show wearing a hat to cover his head, and the first thing he mentioned after greeting host Seth Meyers was that the hat was necessary to "hide" his hair as it grew out. "It's bad. It's still dark on top, but it's gray at the bottom," he explained, telling Meyers, 51, that he hadn't dyed it for about two months. "So you get that really nice-looking grow-out of gray." Among the play's Tony nominations is Clooney's nod for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play. The actor made it clear that he isn't necessarily prepared to take home an award during the ceremony this Sunday: "I'm not thinking very positively about winning a Tony." The production is up for Best Sound Design of a Play, Best Scenic Design of a Play, Best Costume Design of a Play and Best Lighting Design of a Play. Tickets for Good Night, and Good Luck are now on sale. The play wraps up its limited run on Sunday, June 8. Read the original article on People

Bobby Flay's horse Crudo undercooked at Belmont Stakes
Bobby Flay's horse Crudo undercooked at Belmont Stakes Celebrity chef Bobby Flay's horse Crudo was a long shot to win Saturday's 2025 Belmont Stakes, but Crudo finishing in last place left the Flay and his horse pretty, well, burnt by the whole ordeal. Indeed, Sovereignty galloped away with the final leg of the Triple Crown in New York, and Flay's Crudo finished in last place among the horses in the field. It's not a huge shock considering Crudo wasn't one of the favorites heading into Saturday's prestigious race, but even getting to the Belmont Stakes is pretty solid work for a horse who once couldn't be sold. Flay spoke about the road Crudo, a horse he co-owns with Jimmy Ventura, took to get to Saturday's big stage. "Jimmy and I were going to buy him as a pinhook proposition — we bought him as a weanling and we were going to sell him as a yearling. We brought him to the Saratoga [Fasig-Tipton] sale, and he didn't sell, so we kept him,' Flay told the New York Post. 'I don't usually race colts. I usually race fillies only. But I have him, so he's racing, and he's turned out to have talent." Crudo earned his name for his raw talent, so perhaps the racing horse will fare better at future events. Some horses take time to find their potential on the tracks, of course, so Crudo's time may well come one day. For now, the horse's Belmont performance came out a bit undercooked, leaving Flay with a meal he'd probably like to send back to the kitchen. Pump that sweet horse full of carrots and sugar cubes, let him run around the pasture for a while and shake this race off and try again next time. If anybody knows about a bad night at the stove, it's probably Flay.
