AN ENGLISH town's war over "Berlin Wall 2" has taken another twist after the 6ft concrete barrier has now been "cut off" to locals.
The towering wall built between the Kendalls Lane estates in Okehampton, Devon, had left residents stunned by its imposing presence.

The 6ft wall had cut off a walking route used by locals to get their children to the primary school.
One resident revealed that the wall prevented her husband from getting through, as he uses a mobility scooter.
However, tensions between locals and the council have reached new heights after a mystery resident rented a JCB digger and smashed a hole in the wall.
This came as welcome news to residents, with the gap wide enough for pushchairs and mobility scooters to pass through.
However, earlier this month, there were reports that the owners had allegedly dismantled the wall and scattered the bricks across the path to block access.
A tall fence was also installed around the dismantled wall to block access once again.
Councillor George Dexter, of West Devon Borough Council, North Ward, told DevonLive: "This was done (on June 11) without warning after the children from the estate had gone to school, so they have to make a long detour to go home.
"I was told that St James' school had to inform the parents to allow them to leave early."
The councillor previously explained that the issue with the narrow strip of land is that it sits on a ransom strip connected to nearby privately owned land.
This means using the road as a path is technically trespassing.
I thought Trump was only building walls in America
A local said online
Cllr Caroline Mott, West Devon's Borough Council's Lead Member for Planning & Built Environment, revealed that the "work carried out, happened on the day of the Temporary Stop Notice, which prevents such work, expired".
And that they were "now considering the implications for further Planning Enforcement action".
Residents had compared the structure to the infamous Berlin Wall, which fell with the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The structure was even covered in graffiti reading "Berlin Wall Mk 2", prompting the council to issue an Enforcement Notice last month, warning the owner to remove it or face action.
"I thought Trump was only building walls in America!" one local wrote online.
Other residents said it changed the feel of the area, with some joking that "watchtowers" would be added next.
West Devon Borough issued an Enforcement Notice ordering the removal of the unauthorised structure between the two housing estates.
The landowner appealed, but the council told the Planning Inspectorate that the 6ft wall should be demolished.
It comes after a disastrous newbuild estate is set to get more homes despite being unfinished for five years and cut off by two landslides.
And a furious mum-of-two says she is being 'treated like a criminal' after 'stuck up' neighbours complained about a double-decker bus parked on her drive.

‘Ultimate passenger from hell' arrested after she vomited on family and spat wine at them on horror transatlantic flight
British Airways continued top serve the boozed up woman before the ordeal. 'DRUNKEN OUTRAGE' 'Ultimate passenger from hell' arrested after she vomited on family and spat wine at them on horror transatlantic flight Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A WOMAN who vomited on a family and spat wine at them at 30,000ft has been branded the 'ultimate passenger from hell'. A British Airways Captain was forced to radio ahead for cops to meet the transAtlantic flight after her 'inexcusable drunken outrage'. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 5 The dramatic took place on an 11 hour British Airways flight to San Diego Credit: Alamy 5 The dramatic incident happened at Heathrow airport on August 12 Credit: Alamy 5 The flight landed in San Diego airport August 13 Credit: Getty Alarmed families noticed the woman necking booze from a bottle of wine she had smuggled on board in her hand luggage. She was then served alcohol after Flight BA273 took off from Heathrow airport - ordering both a Chardonnay and a Bloody Mary - before she abused a couple and their daughter sat behind her. A witness said: 'She slugged as much wine as she could, got up from her seat, and intentionally spat the wine swilling around her mouth into their faces. It was disgusting and rancid.' The woman continued to hassle the 'petrified' family as she downed drinks. She was seen chucking water at them, mocking them, grabbing the wife's hair and taking photos of them. When she'd had her fill of booze she was violently sick across the appalled trio. After she vomited, crew stepped in as tempers frayed among everyone who sat near the woman - who was given a 'final warning'. The distressed family was moved from the economy section of the plane to the front of the aircraft. A source said: 'It was bedlam. The poor family were so upset and angry - and they had every right to be. 'The woman was a total disgrace. It was obvious she was completely blotto just minutes into the flight. 'After she was sick the whole cabin stank. It was a nightmare for everyone. She caused a major interruption. BA staff did everything they could to help out, but this woman was a shocker. 'All the passengers nearby were disgusted at the woman's behaviour. She was undoubtedly the ultimate passenger from hell.' The woman had claimed it was her birthday and so she was enjoying a 'few drinks'. But at 30,000ft it became obvious she was 'off her face'. She began walking up and down the aisle to the toilet, 'stumbling and moaning incoherently'. Crew informed the cockpit of the disturbance after she was sick over the family. An order was made to ensure she was not served any more alcohol. She 'passed out' for the remainder of the 11 hour, 12 minutes flight on the twin-jet Boeing 787-8 aircraft, which had up to 214 passengers on board. The Captain radioed ahead for US cops to meet the jet on touchdown in San Diego on August 13. FBI operatives arrested the woman and led her away. Staff and passengers provided statements to help the prosecution. 5 Crew informed the cockpit of the disturbance after she was sick over the family Credit: Alamy 5 The Captain radioed ahead for US cops to meet the jet on touchdown Credit: Alamy The targeted family were helped off the flight - and are assisting authorities with their ongoing investigation - while the other passengers remained in their seats. The ordeal will again raise questions over the passenger provision of alcohol on board jets - and in airports before take-off. Earlier this year Ryanair said it wants a limit of two alcoholic drinks at airports, as the airline released details of legal action to recover £12,615 in costs related to a diversion caused by a disruptive passenger. The airline has called on European authorities to bring in new curbs on alcohol to stop passengers getting drunk before boarding a plane. Carriers reserve the right to deny boarding to anyone they deem to be excessively intoxicated. But Ryanair now wants airports to require boarding passes be shown when passengers purchase alcohol at airport bars and pubs as they are in duty free shops. British Airways chose not to comment.

Thug GUILTY after girl, 9, left with bullet in brain when she was caught in crossfire of gang hit while eating ice cream
Youngster injured for life when six shots fired in two seconds GUN HORROR Thug GUILTY after girl, 9, left with bullet in brain when she was caught in crossfire of gang hit while eating ice cream Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A VIOLENT thug is facing jail after a nine-year-old girl was shot in the head when a gunman opened fire in a "planned assassination' of rival gangsters. The youngster was eating with her family inside the Turkish restaurant in Dalston, East London, when the horror unfolded. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 The girl was shot by an unknown gunman on a motorbike Credit: Central News 3 Javon Riley had a key role in the planning of the shooting Credit: PA She was caught in the crossfire as six shots were fired in two seconds by a gunman on a Ducati Monster motorbike. The girl , who cannot be named, will be left with 'physical and cognitive difficulties throughout her life' after a bullet lodged in her brain. Javon Riley, 33, was today found guilty of attempting to murder three men and causing grievous bodily harm to the girl. The gunman has never been caught with cops offering a £15,000 reward for information that leads to his capture. The Old Bailey heard the horror was a "planned assassination of members of a rival gang by Mr Riley and others'. A gruesome rivalry between two rival groups in London known as the Tottenham Turks and the Hackney Turks had been mounting for over a decade. In the months leading up to the shooting, Riley sat in the bar opposite Evin restaurant sipping on a pina colada as he studied traffic flow in the area. On May 29, 2024, he drove from North London in a stolen car and cruised past the restaurant several times to ensure his rivals from the Hackney Turks were inside. As the girl innocently tucked into some ice cream, the gunman hit the girl in the head and blasted Mustafa Kiziltan, Kenan Aydogdu and Nasser Ali. The court heard while he did not fire the weapon, Riley played a key role in orchestrating and implementing a plan intended to end the lives of his rival gangsters. The girl was rushed to hospital where she underwent several intensive operations. Several parts of her skull had to be removed to ease swelling to her brain and replaced with a titanium plate. She had to stay in hospital for three months before being allowed to return home. While the youngster has made "a relatively good recovery", she will struggle physically and mentally for the rest of her life. Her mum said: "In a single moment, the future we had imagined for our daughter was torn away. She was once an energetic, adventurous child — everything that celebrated movement, energy, and life. "Now, weakness on her left side means she can only watch from the sidelines, living with a titanium plate in her skull and a bullet still in her brain. "As parents, we are shattered — emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially. Each day brings new challenges, from her slower growth on one side to the emotional and mental scars that cannot be seen. "The world we once believed was safe for our child now feels frightening and uncertain. This was not just an accident — even if our daughter was not the intended target, those responsible were still attempting to take lives, It is brutal and inhumane. "We live with this pain every day, knowing nothing will ever be the same for our family." Riley will be sentenced on September 12.

Sad story of the ‘Mario Balotelli of darts' who had run-ins with the law and lost tour card when he couldn't get a visa
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IN the years before Luke Littler burst onto the scene, Corey Cadby was the young star tipped to be a future champion. The Australian had the world at his feet after beating legend Phil Taylor at the age of 21 in 2016. The former Manchester City and Liverpool striker was a maverick, capable of going from sheer brilliance to utter madness. Throwing darts at a youth-team player, letting off a firework in his house the day before scoring against Manchester United and being labelled "unmanageable" by Jose Mourinho, Balotelli was never far away from the headlines. Despite winning the Premier League with City and Serie A with Inter Milan, there will always be a feeling that Super Mario never met his potential due to off-field troubles. READ MORE IN DARTS Thrown away Luke Littler's incredible 222-game streak finally comes to an end And the same can be said about Cadby. Nicknamed "The King", he announced himself to fans by beating Taylor and then becoming world youth champion nine years ago. A run to the UK Open final and a win over Rob Cross followed. But run-ins with the law saw him disappear from the darts scene by 2020. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK There were visa problems over him travelling to Europe for major events as Cadby reportedly had a criminal record. An arrest warrant was even put out after he missed a court appearance after an alleged driving offence. Luke Littler defeats Luke Humphries 8-4 to clinch the SkyCity New Zealand Darts Masters title The Darts Draait Door Podcast reflected on his career, with host Damian Vlottes seeing a similarity between him and Balotelli. Vlottes said: "That one has everything but brains. I feel the same about Cadby. Former pro Vincent van der Voort added: "Such a shame. He had everything to become a world-class player. "He had character and wasn't afraid of the big stage. "I really thought he was a very good player. "It's a real shame he ended up sabotaging himself. "He had multiple run-ins with the law and personal troubles in Australia that prevented him from entering England." Cadby once refused to play in a World Series of Darts tournament. Opening up in an old interview last year, he said: 'It is a disgrace, especially when I've been asked to go and represent the PDC. "I did let a lot of people down at the end and I'm totally ashamed of that. 'Each day was so hard and that obviously led to alcohol. I was never one bit happy, I was actually depressed every day. I didn't want to wake up and to be honest, there was thoughts of suicide on my mind.' Cadby made a brief comeback in 2023 and won back his tour card at Q-school. But he never participated in a PDC event and his card was eventually removed. As for Balotelli, he is currently a free agent after recent spells at Turkish side Adana Demirspor and Italian club Genoa.
