Punjab: Govt to conduct four yatras, other events to mark Guru Teg Bahadur martyrdom day
Accompanied by cabinet ministers, Harbhajan Singh ETO Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Bains attended the first meeting held at Virasat-e-Khalsa Anandpur Sahib and gave detailed information about the outline of the religious ceremonies to be held.
Bains said that on November 19, a four-day religious pilgrimage will leave for Anandpur Sahib from Srinagar. He said similarly, yatras from Gurdaspur to Majha and Doaba Yatra, from Malwa, Bathinda and Faridkot will leave for Anandpur Sahib, covering almost all the districts and major cities of the state.
These yatras will include Mashal-e-Shahadat, a library related to the biography, teachings and martyrdom of the ninth guru, gatka, panj nishanchi, panj pyaras, kirtani jatha, Kashmiri pandits and a large number of sangat, along with Kashmiri delegates, will also participate in the religious yatra.
Bains said that Akhand Path will be commenced on November 23 at Virasat-e-Khalsa, in which prominent personalities and religious figures from the country and abroad, including chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, will be present.
On the same day, a digital exhibition depicting the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur will be inaugurated by the CM at Virasat-e-Khalsa.

"So I think this is a very big warning from Prime Minister Modi to the terrorists of Pakistan. So I hope they will heed that warning. What they did on their own Independence Day on 14th August just proves the point. They have always been supporting terrorism. They have always been supporting terrorist groups, giving them money," she said. She further alleged that Pakistan is diverting International Monetary Fund (IMF) funds to rebuild infrastructure destroyed during Operation Sindoor. "They are now offered to build all their buildings which were destroyed during the Operation Sindoor with government money. So all the money going from the IMF is going for this purpose. It is terrible, and the world should take note of that," she said. On Friday, in his Independence Day address, Prime Minister Modi hailed the success of Operation Sindoor and saluted the role of the armed forces who targeted terror sites in Pakistan. The operation, he said, was an expression of India's outrage at the Pahalgam terrorists' attack in which "husbands were killed in front of their wives and fathers were killed in front of their children after asking their religion." "I am very proud that from the ramparts of the Red Fort, I am getting the opportunity to salute the heroes of Operation Sindoor. Our brave jawans punished the enemy beyond its imagination," PM Modi said.

Islamabad: Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir has ruled out any change in the leadership, describing rumours about the removal of President Asif Ali Zardari as completely false and against both the government and the establishment, a media report said on Saturday. In July, social media reports began to circulate that President Zardari may be asked to step down and that the army chief would take over the top office. However, top government officials - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi - rejected such claims. Suhail Warraich, a columnist for the Jang media group, claimed in an article published Saturday that the army chief had spoken to him in person on the matter during a recent meeting in Brussels. Munir briefly stayed in Belgium on his return from last week's visit to the United States. "The talk started with politics, especially on rumours that there is some effort to change the president of Pakistan as well as the prime minister. The article claimed that Munir also outlined his ambitions in the Brussels gathering, saying that: "God has made me protector of the country. I do not desire any position other than that." "On a question about politics, he [Munir] said that political reconciliation is possible only if there is a sincere apology," the report read. Although it was not clear who Munir was referring to, it can be inferred that he may have been referring to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and its incarcerated leader, Imran Khan. On foreign relations, Munir was said to have expressed confidence in maintaining equilibrium between the US and China. "We will not sacrifice one friend for the other," Munir was quoted as saying. The army chief also described President Donald Trump's efforts for peace as "genuine", and said Pakistan had taken the lead in nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize, which was then followed by other nations.

Suspected terror operative detained in Dharmavaram
Dharmavaram: In a significant catch, the police in Dharmavaram town of Sri Sathya Sai district on Friday detained a man identified as Sheikh Noor Mohammad on suspicion of having links to Pakistan-based terror groups. The arrest comes close on the heels of authorities in Vizianagaram district foiling a terror plot by arresting a suspected sympathiser and his associate. According to Penukonda DSP Narasingappa, Noor, a cook at a local hotel in Kota Colony, was taken into custody for questioning following intelligence inputs. During a search of his residence subsequently, investigators reportedly seized 16 SIM cards and sent them for forensic examination. The authorities are analysing his social media accounts to uncover any connections to extremist groups. Police seized some 'radical literature' works also from Noor. Sources indicate that Noor is being interrogated about his links to previously arrested suspects and his potential role in supporting or facilitating extremist activities. The police are also examining his local contacts and financial transactions to determine the extent of his circles. 'He (Mohammed) only consumed content and got influenced but didn't execute any act or perhaps didn't get a chance. Training could have radicalised him...,' Dharmavaram in-charge sub-divisional police officer U Narsingappa told a news agency. According to the police, Noor is an Indian citizen and a native of Dharmavaram and his forefathers also belong to the same place, ruling out foreign origin concerns. Officials stated that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terror sleeper cells and prevent extremist activities in Andhra Pradesh. Further arrests have not been ruled out. Police have booked Sheikh Noor Mohammad under provisions relating to sedition and charged him under sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for his alleged ties to terror outfits. Preliminary investigations revealed that Noor was an active member of numerous WhatsApp and Facebook groups associated with terrorist organisations, including Jaish-e-Mohammed. He is accused of posting on his social media handles provocative messages intended to radicalise and lure youth into extremist activities. Authorities confirmed that Noor's actions posed a serious threat to national security. He was to be produced before the Kadiri court later on Saturday. Further investigations are underway to trace Noor's network and determine the full extent of his involvement with terror groups.
