One source said: "Some type of flammable liquid was used at the entrance to the pub before being set alight.
"There was a small fire at the door that was quickly brought under control.
"One individual was involved in the incident and quickly ran from the scene.
"Thankfully there was no one around at the time and nobody was injured."

MOTIVE BEING SOUGHT
Investigators are now trying to establish a motive for the incident.
One local told us: "The homes near the pub were woken up by the sound of fire engines and sirens.
"The fire was extinguished pretty quickly and then the guards were back first thing to examine the pub.
"It's hard to know who was behind this attack because he's not popular with everyone in this community."

ONGOING INVESTIGATION
Gardai confirmed an investigation was ongoing.
A spokesperson said: "Gardai attended the scene of an incident of criminal damage at a licenced premises on the Drimnagh Road, Crumlin that occurred at approximately 3am on Friday 25 July.
"The fire was extinguished by the Dublin Fire Brigade.
"No injuries have been reported.

'SCENE PRESERVED'
"The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination will be conducted in due course. Investigations are ongoing."
A spokesperson from Dublin Fire Brigade added: "Firefighters from Dolphin's Barn were mobilised to the address and on arrival found a small fire at the front of the building.
"Using a high pressure hose reel, one fire engine dealt with the incident and no injuries were reported. The scene was handed over to Gardai."
SECOND ARSON ATTACK
This is the second time McGregor's pub has been targeted in an arson attack.

In 2022, a petrol bomb was thrown at the bar but it failed to ignite.
Following that incident, McGregor also installed bullet proof windows in the pub.
The investigation into the latest attack is being led by officers from Crumlin Garda station.

Man in critical condition after alleged assault as suspect flees scene
A man is in a critical condition at Cork University Hospital as Gardaí appeal for witnesses to an alleged assault that took place in Tipperary last week. The victim, a man in his 30s, was rushed from Clonmel to the hospital last Thursday night, July 24, after sustaining life-threatening injuries during an attack in the town. The attacker, another man whose age is currently unknown, fled the scene, reports Cork Beo. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to get in contact with them after launching an investigation into the alleged assault. The attack occurred on O'Connell Street in Clonmel shortly after 5pm last Thursday and as of Monday evening, the victim remained in a critical condition in hospital. A report can be made at any Garda station or via the Garda Confidential Line, which allows people with knowledge of a crime to come forward in strict confidence. A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault that occurred at O'Connell Street, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, on Thursday the 24th of July 2025. "Shortly after 5pm that evening, a man aged in his 30, was assaulted by a male. The man was transferred by ambulance to Cork University Hospital, where he is in critical condition. "Gardaí in Clonmel are appealing for witnesses to this incident. Any road users who were travelling in the vicinity of O'Connell Street and surrounding areas between 4.45pm and 5.15pm and who may have camera footage (including dash cam and action cameras) is asked to make this available to Gardaí." A TEENAGE boy has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after being struck by a car in Dublin 22 late last night. Gardai have issued an appeal for witnesses after a cyclist was left in critical condition following a collision involving a car late last night. Shortly after 11.40pm on Sunday, July 27, Gardai and emergency services responded to reports of a serious road traffic accident in the Clondalkin area of Dublin 22. The collision took place on the R113, Fonthill Road South and involved a bicycle and a car. The cyclist, who is a male aged in his late teens, was rushed to Beaumont Hospital, where his condition has been described as "critical".
